Would you like to live in an humanized version of Ponyville..?

Imagine that someone tells you that he had found a small community, in which everyone lives in friendship and harmony, where there is no question such as politics, success, money making, social pression, etc. It is build in a hidden place of the world, within the wild nature, but linked to civilisation by a small and long dirt road. People lives there in peace, having artisanal jobs to help sustain the community, but having a lot more free times than in our present society, to see their friends and have fun. Everything is shared. All decisions are taken together, respecting the opinion of everyone. Conflicts are solved in the same way... Bullying is frowned up, and even punishable.

There, there is a polytheist religion based on the sun and the moon and on nature, and their repective gods. However, they are really tolerent on culture or religion (so if you are christian, they wont bother and still like you).

Everything is supervised by a kinda half-god, making sure harmony is preserved and all goes well, but not tyranic or oppressive - he is just a passive observer, taking care of his people, he considers like his children.

... BUT

There is no technology there ; no electricity, no internet, not even satellite link for your phone (you can still make a demand to make an urgent call if you need to join someone.) They still have advanced knowledge in medecin and other important sciences, but they don't have the technnology to go with it (for example, curing illness with plants and herbs). They know all of sanity, protecting form bacterias, etc. and they are really inventives in their non-technology way of living. They also have schools. All is done by hand, there is no machine of any kind to help living. In other words, they live mostly comfortably, like us, even without technology.

SOOO you don't have any access to MLP, fan community, bronies or any people who didn't followed you there. NO MORE MLP OR BRONY THINGS.

Imagine that someone offers you to go at this place by plane, without any cost or charge, that you could bring any of your friends and that you could live there as long as you want, free to leave when you want.

Would you want to leave all what you have behind you to go live there ?

In other words, if I told you that it exist an humanized version of Ponyville, in an humanized version of Equestria, somewhere hidden in the world, would you like to go live in it ?

Key point there is the lack of access to people who didn't follow me there, and I have no doubt in my mind that not all the people I care for would want to uproot and go and frankly I would never abandon my friends and family. I say abandon since I wouldn't be able to contact or see them with any degree of regularity.

I think my answer would have to be no with a but; No, but I would (and do for the most part) try to bring the essence of ponyville to me, by attempting to be as good a friend as I can be and putting into practice the lessons that the show teaches.

I think I'd love to stay there. But I've got responsibilities to my community. If I could fulfill all my obligations to what I have now and be able to tell everyone my final good byes, I think I could go for that. I could make new friends, live without the stress of my work I've got now and be away from all kinds of stressors.

(Ok let's just say you weren't the person that told me/us that.)For most of the paragraph this stranger is shooting at me i think the first thing that would come to my mind and out of my mouth is " Hey buddy what are you smoking and can i have some. "  Ok i don't smoke at all i just said that to fasten a chain. Anyway all that he would mention would make it seem like this place is to good to be true but as the saying goes " What sounds to good to be true probably isn't. " And let's return to the fact that this person is a total stranger so it may not be wise to believe him/her or in any case stay to close to this person.

The mentioning of no tech sounds like a major downer since most of this world is now more relied on it i mean honestly find me one person that doesn't have a sort of wireless phone be it I Phones Android phones, and the classic cellphone won't be able to listen music cause mp3 usage is out but you could learn to play instruments and sing so that's a perk if anyone's interested other then tech it seems alright but i choose not to go.

THE WORST POSSIBLE THING.

Share everything:

Guy: "William can I borrow that red, glowing thing."

Me: "It's a rod of Plutonium, I'm wearing a radiation suit for a reason you know..."

No internet:

Me: *Building giant radio antenna*

Guy: "What'cha doin?"

me: "Internet."

Guy: "...."

No electricity:

I would somehow end up producing electricity....

Electricity is a staple of medicine IE it can re-start your heart....

Nuclear reactor is a must! I don't want to have to spend hours rubbing bits of Amber together.

No politics etc:

I think it's a good idea BUT you do need a sort of organizer who tells people their role...

Like Winter Wrap Up and Twilight!

I like the community where everyone helps eachother, it's like communism that works!

Such a shame communities like this are rare and are unheard of to most people  !

I couldn't live without a computer since it's almost essiantial for my tests. Also I think if I lived in a place like this

people would be a bit scared of me  .

Did you know: 20Kv's of electricity can kill you from up to 5ft away?

It doesn't sound to bad, as there are things to look forward to, and it's not boring because its always getting attacked by creatures.  So, it seems to me it's not such a bad place.

Living in a backwater neighbourhood, without any basic facilities such as electricity, running water, clean bathroom, and even paved road, and all that so I can live with harmony to the nature?

Oh hell no...

Yes, it might sounds awesome on the paper, but once you know what lurks under the shadows and behind the walls, you will run screaming back to civilisation.

(hint: it's spiders and rats and mosquitoes and flies and crickets and whatshit other pests that can generally ruin your day if you don't have a thick fur)

Really to me, this isn;t a humanized version of Ponyville. It sounds more like a village in the Congo. Ponyville has a Mayor and thus has Politics. You have to take into account that they have magic  and we don't...(well not like in the show)...so some of our tech would take the place of Magic.

So, if we rephrase the description to a place you could live in community and Harmony with your villiage, be self sustaining, work the land for your food, sell your goods to the outside world, have your tech and electricity by maintaning Hydro power or solar panels (Believe it or not, working hard as a community, like trying to survive a winter together, builds strong bonds), etc then yes. And things like this exist. THey are called Communals and were big in the 70's if my history is right. ITs a group of people, sometimes large, sometimes small that come together with a common belief and can be pretty damn happy. So would I go to a Communal thats MLP:FiM related? Hell yes.

No internet? NO INTERNET?! Ponies would have made it better, but NO PONIES EITHER?

Seriously, no. Why would I want to live in a "perfect" world doomed to complacency and stagnation? Is such a world worth living in? How boring. How pathetic. I don't want peace handed to us on a silver platter. I want to work for it. I want to see progress. The journey is just as, if not more important than, the end.

Not to mention that technology is one of man's greatest assets. The idea of throwing that all away and living like primitives is in direct conflict with my vision for the human race.

I'm sure I would consider it if my life sucked, I mean, some of the happiest people in the world live their lives with little to no technology.

But for the time being I think I would want to stay here, with my friends, and family, and school.

But still, not that bad of an idea...

Unless "no technology" is meant to be a situational caveat, a humanized Ponyville that follows canon would actually have technology akin to something more on the steam-punk level, and I use that term loosely. Ponyville doesn't really seem to match any kind of technological era - they use plows and drawn carriages, but also have electricity (the dam) and x-rays. They live in hollow trees and make houses out of thatch and such, but also have access to pretty advanced metallurgy and stone masonry. Not to mention flying machines. One thing for sure, though, Ponyville is NOT a primitive society.

If it's canon levels of technology, then yes.

However, if it's completely primitive like in the hypothetical situation...maybe. I've seen some eco-villages before, and some are truly beautiful. In fact, for a while I was part of a group planning on eventually creating an eco-village. It ended up stalling, but the idea never really left me.

Having lived in place where most of today's commodity aren't granted, it's not all it's cut out to be. Real question is, would I go to a humanized village of ponies? Nah, I'm good.

While that does sound like a utopia, I'd have to decline. Having no internet to talk to my fellow bronies would be a let down. And no more MLP things? I can't bear to think of that. That's future me's problem. However, if the humanized version of the mane six were there, I'd live there in a heartbeat and we'd all become best friends. And then live happily ever after. The end.

As good as a humanized Equestria sounds,I think I'll pass. The lack of tech and science alone would make me cringe.Even if they had humanized versions of every single pony from MLP,I still wouldn't go because tech is important in today's world, and the now-human ponies lack the only thing that makes them unique, which is their inherent magic. And wings,in the case of the pegasi.

Hmm...possibly, but the idea of getting away from other humans is a big reason I would go to a different world anyway. I would want it to be the real Equestria, complete with ponies. :)

Living in Ponyville would be like going back 80 to 100 years in a time machine.  Electricity and early electric appliances, lights, and so on exist.  So do talking movies in Technicolor.  But even though they have talking movies, phonographs, microphones, and bullhorns, I don't think I've ever seen a telephone in MLP.  They certainly have telephone capabilities, however.  I've never seen a radio either.  It seems information can only be transmitted via wire or dragon.  I'm not sure if food in the home is kept cold in refrigerators or iceboxes.  And while it seems like they have the technical know how to build cars, it seems thus far to be relegated to novelty uses, like parade floats.

It wouldn't be easy, but I could live without the internet.  What I can't live without are modern dental drills.  Every time I go into a museum and see vintage dental equipment, I'm grateful I live in the 21st century.  :)

YES. Definitely xD They do have electricity, they have video games (In 'The Perfect Stallion' a little boy is playing some arcade games) and everyone seems so happy and accepting ^_^ If I could live there, I would ^_^
