What do you think the best song lyric-wise is? And why? I'm curious, here's my answer;

 

Skin by Rascall Flatts: The lyrics tell a very moving story about a girl with cancer. I think the lyrics of this song alone is better than any cancer book or movie there is without being so negative. And the song is beatiful, so that's a bonus.

Well, I got two songs for that.

 

The first song is "Forever" by Kamelot.

When you read the lyrics you will see that it is about a loved person who died and that she (or he) shall wait in paradise until they meet again.. I freaking love this song 

 

 

 

 

The second song is "Kleid aus Rosen" by Subway to Sally (I know, it's a German song, but hey )

 

This song tells the story of a girl who runs away from home and finds a man who "puts pictures into the naked skin" (I did not know how to translate it, the original lyrics say "der Bilder stach in nackte Haut")

 

She begs him to "give her roses on her white dress", but the "master" first refuses. Later he agrees, but nobody ever found out what price the master took.

I've always found a very dark beauty in the lyrics of the death metal band Benediction. While most DM bands sing about death and violence and stuff, their lyrics are very complex and philosophical, even poetic. Such as in the song 'Face Without Soul'...
