Anthropomorphic Rainbow Dash drawing

I didn't know exactly what to call this besides "Anthropomorphic Rainbow Dash drawing" because that's what it really is, but usually a good name will take something a long way. 

 

Anyways, for the past however many years I have always been terrified of drawing humans; but over this past weekend, a friend of mine kinda pushed me into "expanding" my abilities to a higher level. Most of you may know me from my automotive/pony related drawings, others may not know me at all.

 

I actually was very pleased how this turned out for the most part and I hope to refine it via the computer. (As you can see, I had a difficult time with the shoes though...) Feel free to leave comments, questions or concerns below. It is always much obliged.

I'm not usually a fan of humanized/anthropomorphic ponies, but this is a really good drawing. 

 

Rainbow Dash is most awesome pony.

I have always loved Anthro and this just furthers my love for it

 

My biggest gripe with this though would be that

The tail doent really look like a tail,

It looks kind of like it has feathers

 

 

That is about the only problem I have with it

I can't say I was much of a fan of humanized/anthropomorphic ponies until I came to the realization that I cannot draw fingers or human ears... thus this drawing was born... a mix between humans and ponies, this is as close as I'll probably get to drawing a person 

But, yes, Rainbow Dash is definitely most awesome pony.

you seem to have forgoten to shade the hair to hi light, other wise its not rely RD.

other then that its a rely good antro drawing, tho the lack o hand is creepy, looks like they've been cut off  :/

Yeah, I agree with you on the tail, it just doesn't look right. Between the tail, the shoes and the shirt I had one heck of a time.

How does she button and zip her fly with no opposable thumbs?

Sounds kind of difficult. I think that's why most ponies choose to stay buck naked. Not out of lack of modesty but the clothes are too inconvenient.

Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking when I drew her tail... It doesn't look very good. 

I wasn't really into anthro ponies until I kinda realized that I'm not too good at drawing fingers and some other human features ponies lack so I mixed the two together.

You have your own style and I have nothing to tell you to correct, although you might want to work on that tail, and I think that head in the drawing to the right is a bit to big.

I ended up fixing the tail, I think it looks a little better now... I still am not sure what to do with it, but I figure it's alright. 

And you don't have to worry about me drawing humanized ponies because I cannot draw fingers.

This turned out really well man, nice job.  I've got nothing but praise for you.  I especially like the shoes.  Even though it's not the main part of your drawing, they are incredibly detailed.  Nice job!

I am in a critical mood right now, so why not a critical response?

 

For a pencil sketch, it's really a good drawing. This is really one of those drawings that needs to have a colored/vectored version. I mean, if the title of the post wasn't "Rainbow Dash Drawing," I would think it was just an Anthropomorphic Pegasus. The hair and tail style isn't really unique without the rainbow color.

 

For the outlines, there are minor flaws. The most obvious (which isn't saying much) is at the hooves/hands. The outline seems to come out longer than the hoof. The wings are a bit plain, too. Wings usually have several layers of feathers. In the drawing, it's like a pair of plastic wings.

 

The clothes are near-perfect. There are little wrinkles and folds that make it pretty realistic. The piercings are a nice touch, but would a professional flier/athlete really be wearing them all that much? Just throwing it out there...

 

The above flaws are really just tiny imperfections. It is a really good drawing. I hope to see more from you!

I agree with what you have to say, the wings definitely need some kind of improvement  and for the picture to have a full effect it would definitely need to be vectored and colored properly. I kinda like the piercings though...

 

I plan on vectoring this soon and practicing drawing out the wings more to suit the picture, I also believe the arms/hooves need attention as you said.

Yeah I think she could wear piercings with no problem at all. Job and other interests have nothing to do with it usually. I have seen very different people wearing piercings. And I'm myself a very weird combination as for clothing, piercings, interests, opinions and everything. So I don't think it's ok to judge like that by stereotypes   Just my two cents... carry on. ( Great work again btw )

For my first anthro drawing, this one seems to be getting a lot of attention, I'm glad to see people that like it!

As for the lines, I tried my best to shade them in different levels to give a overall depth to the outline.

Rainbow Dash is definitely by far my favorite pony from the show. I never was really into humanized/anthro ponies until I saw one that struck my attention and made me want to create my own.
