She in't my favorite...but I will tell you what I see in her over Fluttershy 1. The color scheme is wonderful. She has this soft minty green which gets offset beautifully by the shock of white in her mane and tail 2. I do have a tendency to find unicorns more attractive however in Lyra's case, she has the bright yellow to orange eyes which makes for a nice contrast to her minty green horn 3. The mane and tail cute and choppy and cute...very energetic and spry looking Now for Fluttershy She has this very plain-Jane look about her. She has a sweet and demure look which is ok but there isn't much that is remarkable about her. The curves of her mane and tail don't make me think attractive, they make me think girl-next-door All in all she is kind of boring looking to me...and notice I didn't enter personality into it You look at the mane six and I see this attractive feature about each...something that puts them out in front of the pack Twilight has great line of color down her mane to go with a great purple color Rarity has a gorgeous mane Applejack has the dimples, great tied up mane Rainbow Dash has the rainbow mane and tail Pinkie Pie (even though she is my favorite pony) isn't that attractive to be honest But Fluttershy has nothing really special other than a demure look So that's what I see...I invite other Lyra fans to do the same 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have to agree with Cupcake, Fluttershy just doesn't stand out like any of the other ponies, I think what makes her the most attractive is her shy and submissive attitude, and personally I find that repulsive. The fact of the matter is that Lyra has had a strong showing for the entire competition, so she isnt here by accident, nor did she squeak by. Every round was a fight for her, and she stuck it out and made it this far. Love her or hate her, the cold hard truth is that she has alot of fans around here, and shes beating the ponies that everyone else assumed would decimate the competition. Fear the underdogs, they go into fights with zero to lose and everything to gain. EVERYTHING On a more serious note I find Lyra, based purely on aesthetics, looks much better than Fluttershy. Fluttershy doesn't look bad but her color combination just doesn't stand up to Lyra minty fresh design. Everything, from the mane, to the eyes, even to the cutie mark I find that Lyra's is just better. Plus Lyra plays a lyre, and like I said before, playing an instrument is at least +20 attractiveness. When you throw personality into the mix, Fluttershy is still not very appealing in an attractive way. I think her musical background speaks to my artistic side more then Fluttershy's connection with nature. I feel a connection to nature, but its not as strong as my thirst to create. Lyra appeals to me physically as in I like her appearance and color scheme, and since she is a background pony and left with very little personality other than an assumed backstory that lets me build her up however I see fit, as a writer that is one of the most important things for me. Lateon 589 February 4, 2013 Share February 4, 2013 Fluttershy: - Exudes cuteness, could probably kill those with diabeetus - I personally identify with her shyness and reserved attitude, the submissiveness not so much - I do quite enjoy her voice - Eyes are uniquely shaped by her eyelashes, which looks very good Lyra: - Color scheme is pretty amazing - Amber eyes are striking, nothing else like them Here's the part where I say, "I picked these points up from fics I've read." My answer to any neigh saying is: Deal with it. (sunglasses) - Inquisitive nature is something I identify with - I find her energetic and quirky aspects to be appealing In this bout, I prefer Lyra over Fluttershy. Flutters' cuteness just seems...a little overkill, and while I don't mind introversion/shyness, submissiveness isn't really something I like. Lyra on the other hand, isn't pretty or cute just for the sake of it.
