She may be 2nd best pony for me but she is growing into me lately, mostly because of her moments with her and AJ, those are fun to watch from time to time.

That is one of the reasons she is on my Top 3 list. The other reason is because her story centers heavily on family which makes her appealing to me.

I'm wrapping this text in a Spoiler tag due to recent episode that aired in Canada.

Spoiler

Ok, I have decided that my next commission is going to be Nightmare Moon and Nightmare Rarity fighting Daybreaker together. This has to happen!

@Jeric

 The reason Rarity is my 2nd favorite pony (After rewatching her episodes.) is because of her episodes focusing on family like you said

with the other reasons being that I like how creative she is with her clothing designs & how generous she is to the ponies around her.

Uploader Description

I am the very model of a modern Major General
I’ve information vegetable, animal, and mineral
I know the Kings of England, and I quote the fights historical
From Marathon to Waterloo in order categorical;
I’m very well acquainted too, with matters mathematical
I understand equations, both the simple and quadratical
About binomial theorem I’m teaming with a lot o’ news
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse.

I’m very good at integral and differential calculus;
I know the scientific names beings animalculous
In short, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral
I am the very model of a modern Major General.

I know our mythic history, King Arthur and Sir Caradoc’s
I answer hard acrostics, I’ve a pretty taste for paradox,
I quote in elegiacs all the crimes of Heliogabalus
In conics I can floor peculiarities parabolas;
I can tell undoubted Raphaels from Gerard Dows and Zoffanies,
I know the croaking chorus from The Frog of Aristophanies!
Then I can hum a fugue of which I’ve heard the music din afore,
And whistle all the airs from that infernal nonsense Pinafore

Then I can write a washing bill in Babylonic cuneiform
And tell you every detail of a Caractacus’ uniform;
In short, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral
I am the very model of a modern Major General.

In fact I know what is meant by "ma-melon" and "ravel-in"
When I can tell at sight a Mauser rifle from a javelin
When such affairs as sorties and surprises I’m more wary at,
And when I know precisely what is meant by "commissariat".
When I have learnt what progress has been made in modern gunnery,
When I know more of tactics than a novice in a nunnery;
In short, when I’ve a smattering of elemental strategy,
You’ll say a better Major General has never sat-a-gee.

For my military knowledge, though I’m plucky and adventury,
Has only been brought down to the beginning of the century;
But still, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral
I am the very model of a modern Major General!

@Jeric Would you like Detective Rarity to have her own spin-off series?

After all, I paid handsomely for a commission that became rather well shared among Rarifans

Not sure if I've shared the black and white version Ruhisu did. I'll have to dig that one up because I actually like it a little better.

Also, if I ever do write a fanfic, it will likely involve Rarity in detective mode.

I thought that the original version of that Detective Rarity was amazing but, I think that this inverted version is even more amazing...

Aye here is the other one. This is what people have seen, and it's the one that was featured on EQD.

He actually did that color one as a bonus. Normally when I commission art I am very vague because I want to give the artist as much free reign to interpret ... but this time I had a very specific vision I wanted to see. From the rain physics to the Maltese Falcon (since Rarity's favorite noir hero was a gender bent Sam Spade). I wanted it b&w except for the specific elements you see colored as the effect is ... well ... stunning and subtle.

The color version was a nice treat and as you see the lighting detail on her eyes was a nice detail (it's rare for us to see the unicorn magic glow used when it's mostly obscured by a hat).

Ruhisu does great work! Him, SFyr, and WD are my favorite Rarity artists in the fandom (SFyr did a piece with Rarity and SB that is gorgeous).

I'll pull out some sketches @SFyr made for me last year and post them tomorrow since I haven't shared them publicly yet. :D

@Jeric

I think that my favorite part of those pieces of Detective Rarity art is the rain on Rarity's mane, tail, hat & trenchcoat.

The amount of detail is incredible, IMO.

An artist took one of the photos we got a glimpse of in Forever Filly and redrew it.

Pic was taken post CotLM apparently.
