We all know that there have been some pretty bad inventions that society expected us to purchase. 

 

Well, how about the ones that are so awful that they must be showcased in this thread?

I will start off with my personal favorite:

I can think of a few pretty bad ideas for a invention, or just some really goofy things more or less.

 

The "Aerocar" This thing is just so goofy looking I had to toss it in here.

 

The "1932 Caproni Stipa" How could this possibly be useful in any way?

 

The "Fiat Multipla" I can't even see why this thing made it past the rough sketch phase.

 

And, my personal favorite:
 

The "Pontiac Aztek"... Now who at GM really expected this thing to catch on? The Pontiac Aztek is just one of the worst looking and preforming inventions I could think of. Sure it could turn into a freakin' tent, and sure it had a tailgate, but it wasn't a fire that was scaring away wild animals from your campsite, it was your freaking Pontiac Aztek.
