Well for those who were hoping it was a temporary thing, looks like your hopes are crushed. You have two options.

Option A.) Deal with it.

or

Option B.) Don't watch the show anymore.

No.  Nothing is really set in stone.  If Greedsbro ever decided they wanted to switch her back with a plot appropriate action, they have the power to do that.  Stranger things have happened.

You forgot about option C.)  Continue to watch the show, but always be strong with your original opinion and express it if/when the time comes.

Initially, I was neutral. Eventually, though, Twilight Sparkle and the whole alicorn thing grew on me and before I knew it I started using Twi avatars at various places. Eventually she became my favorite pony.

I don't really care if she has wings or not, she's still best pony either way. So yes, I support Twilicorn.

As a princess, Twilight will spend the majority of her time doing her royal duties or simply adjusting to being a princess (we've already seen plenty of these overly cutesy time wasters in MMC and EQG alone). Never mind that her friends are supposed to be in this with her (after all, they're the real source of Twilight's power, aren't they?) , we will for the most part see little more than Twilight doing cheesy gags with her wings.

Princesses aren't always the way you just described them.  In fact, there was a Princess in a 90s cartoon that was active, and didn't act like a 'pretty Princess' at all.  And her name was Sally Acorn.

All I'm saying is sometimes things work themselves out.

I Was always for it, it didn't seem like the best idea for the show, but I decided to not judge it, I like the idea of it, and seriously, there's nothing highly bad about it, something like so was going to happen sooner or later, so get the f**k over it.

But it will be intresting to see where they will go with it, and I will be highly looking forward to it, and I have no idea how to word this...

I for one do support Twilicorn because of one factor. Twilight's element of harmony is magic, but i also believe that she also embodies leadership. This is shown in winter wrap up and several other episodes. I feel that Celestia has been building Twilight up for leadership to prepare her to rule her own kingdom. Now, i don't believe that if twilight ruled her own kingdom it would be that different, plot-wise. I believe that the issues brought up would just be more important, on a wider scale.

I think Twilight becoming an Alicorn is awesome! Anyone that hates it... Well, you have just made a new foe! Heh heh- But no, seriously, What the buck is up with the Twilicorn haters?! Several things I know: One - The creators were NOT high when making this episode! Two - Everypony we've seen so far is okay with it, in the show, not in real life. Three - Those haters can go hate all they want, but these Bronies are gonna OWN! Four - Their theory about Luna being even slightly mad is WRONG. She seemed happy for Twilight.

Their theory about Luna being even slightly mad is WRONG. She seemed happy for Twilight.

The theory is not that Luna is angry though that is a possibility that cannot be entirely dismissed, it is that Luna questions whether Twilight is in fact actually ready for this level of responsibility which does not always imply anger or jealousy but legitimate concern perhaps even for Twilight's well being. I think that Luna does care about Twilight but in a different way than Celestia does, because Celestia has been Twilight's teacher for so many years she is a bit biased in her favor so have Luna be a bit of a skeptic albeit one that means well in entirely within reason. Because Luna is that outside voice looking in she dosen't have the bias that Celestia has but does care for Twilight because she did reach out to Luna and try to get her readjusted to modern pony society in Luna Eclipsed.

I wouldn't really say that Celestia is as 'biased toward Twilight' as people think.  Bear in mind that on numerous occasions, Celestia refused to listen to Twilight when she had obvious and real concerns, often with disastrous results (such as Canterlot nearly being wiped out because of it).  Say what you want about Twilight 'overreacting' in A Canterlot Wedding, Celestia is not only supposed to be immortal (with thousands of years of experience under her belt), but the episode illustrated that she and Luna had known about the threat in advance.  So at the very least, she should've raised a red flag when Twilight went on about the spell.  She should've at least asked what color the aura was.  I'm not saying that Celestia's evil or mean or anything.  But she has been shown to be naive in numerous occasions.  Possibly because it's in the nature of the Pony races to be trusting.  Perhaps, this might even come back to haunt them later...

Regardless of what people think about the previous seasons though, I think there's a bigger reason for why Celestia specifically chose Twilight to be her student, and by extension a Princess.  It could be retirement.  But I think it could also be a bigger threat to Equestria that only she knows about, and is preparing Twilight for it.  It could be something that requires a certain degree of power to deal with, and Twilight can only achieve that in the form of an Alicorn.

I do, I see lots of potential here, maybe a lesson about her friends becoming jealous and leave her, but then they all realize that just because Twilight is now a princess, it hasn't changed the fact that they are all amazing friends.

I won't really say I absolutely adore Alicorn Twi, I feel she was a good addition to the show, just not necessary. The episode was very good though. The songs were good and the plot was interesting. I feel it really expands the world of Equestria, and we might get to see more of it. Overall, I think Alicorn Twilight was a good plot point.

Initially, I was skeptical about the idea because in most cartoons I have watched, major changes like this are the "jump the shark" moment.

However, after seeing it in Equestria Girls, I support Alicorn Twilight 100%. Not only does it open a door for fresh episode ideas and the possibility of new lands but we may also see something similar in Season 4 that we saw in Equestria Girls such as Twilight's anxiety and the fact that she does not know how to fly.

I wouldn't really say that Celestia is as 'biased toward Twilight' as people think.

In that case I think it was because her bias in favor of Cadence was a bit stronger than her bias toward Twilight, I seriously think everypony should have been slapped for not listening to Twilight especially Celestia as she already knew there was a threat and likely knew that the changelings can shape shift. It is true that Twilight's suspicions were partially influenced by her being protective toward her brother but the fact that Celestia knew Cadence for even longer than Twilight did and still was still blind to "Cadences" suspicious behavior is quite a phenomenal screw up. I am not saying that Celestia didn't have some good reasons for making Twilight an alicorn even if her so called explanation in MMC was beyond weak but that it is reasonable to think that her bias in favor of Twilight though it may not have been the only reason likely did factor into her decision.

Overall I was pretty upsetting to me. It just seemed to ruin the whole balance and changed the point of the show. I eagerly await Season 4, but I really hope Twilight doesn't stay an Alicorn.

Awhile back, someone brought up a good point in another topic about how the mane 6 were never balanced to begin with.  While there was one part of the argument that I didn't agree with, it did make a lot of good points.  You should give it a read if you really think this is what tips the show into the realm of 'unbalanced'.

twilight is my favorite pony and always has been. I identify with her because I too am a bookworm and a bit  socially reclusive. ever since I moved from my home town in the middle of 2nd grade I have found it hard to make friends and fit in, so I kind of figured it wasn't important to make friends. so I will stick with Twi through thick and thin. besides Wings Are Attractive.

yeah! I really do not support twilight sparkle becoming alicorn! Any other pony would be okay but not Twilight!!!! I would like if it was Pikie Pie

Somehow, I think time and space would implode in on itself if Pinkie Pie became an Alicorn Princess.  First of all, you're giving Pinkie Pie, the Element of Laughter, magical powers.  Canterlot is in a giant punch bowl, and all of the houses in Ponyville are now cakes.  That's how Alicorn Pinkie Pie would go.  Second, she'd be a Princess.  Every pony in Equestria is required by law to smile all the time.  Failure to comply will result in a trip to the re-education camp, where they will undergo personality reconditioning.  That's what life would be like with Princess Pinkie Pie.

It had way too many songs, don't get me wrong they weren't bad but they dragged down the plot instead of complementing it. The cutie mark switching idea was a good one but should have been its own episode and we didn't even get to see this big transformation that was so overhyped until the last few seconds of the episode and Celestia's so called explanation for why Twilight is the next princess is beyond weak.

here is my review of if you want to see a more detailed explanation

http://mlpforums.com/blog/456/entry-3253-i-hate-to-be-a-neighsayer-but/

first off the songs dragged down the plot? oh no no no they made the plot now i can't even see them not having them it was something new for the bronys and many of us blow it way out of proportion. music is a way of telling a story just as any other form of media. and boy dose it, it sets the problem with rareity makeing twilight investigate and after she gose and gets a bit depressed then choses to take action it recaps as she saves her friend then the build up with twilight going boom and celestia ballad was perfect it really tells the veiwer she earned it and this set up so many good storys to come what they do with it we are going to have to wait and see but you should have a bit of faith in the show good day to you sir. magical mystery cure gets a 9/10 for its daring do attitude:)

but you should have a bit of faith in the show

My stance since writing that has changed from opposing the idea to being neutral, yes I still think that Magical Mystery Cure is the worst episode of the entire series for reasons I already stated and that the introduction of twilicorn has been seriously flawed but my stance changed after seeing Equestria Girls which I though I didn't join the panic party of I had relatively low expectations of. Whether this works is going to depend on how much freedom Hasbro gives the writers and since they gave them enough to make Equestria Girls work I have great hope that they will do the same for twilicorn.

I was pissed at first no doubt about it and became one of the harshest critics of twilicorn on here but, gradually calmed down then got pissed again after watching MMC then calmed down and then became neutral after watching Magical Mystery Cure. But one important thing I would like to note though is that just because someone dosen't agree with or questions a direction a character is being taken dosen't always mean that someone dosen't like said character. Twiliscael is one of the biggest Twilight Sparkle fans on here and he has also been one of the harshest critics of twilicorn, Twilight Sparkle was my 2nd favorite pony when twilicorn was first announced but actually became tied with Applejack and Luna for my favorite pony because it did serve as a reminder of what I like about her as a character. It is not the reminder I would have preferred but a reminder nonetheless. So in other words while I am not completely in support of twilicorn I do support Twilight as a character and want twilicorn to work, Twilight reminds me a great deal of what I was like when I was a kid, back before I discovered my inner Applejack.

I get what you mean you see a lot of your self in twilight and you love her character and you don't want it to be ruined by a plot device. If that happened to fluttershy I don't know what I would do...maybe jump into a speeding car. But am happy you have hope for season 4 I wish more people were like you in fandoms in general:)
