I'm sorry Twilight. You're cute as a button and have so many funny moments, as well as being the intelligent bookread one of the group, but not even the TwiBop can attract my vote now.

 

Rainbow Dash takes my vote hook, line, and sinker. Her confidence, boldness, courageousness, loyalty, and overall awesome and coolness is at immeasurable levels. She is my favorite of any of the characters for good reason, and for this, here is a Rainbow Bop.

Wow, what a tough matchup this is going to be! And I'm excited to see who is going to come out the victor. Now we have two days of voting, so anything can happen, but rest assured, this going to be an extremely close match between Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash! It would have been way more exciting if it was Applejack instead of Twilight.

 

Just to set the record straight, I'll be happy with either pony winning this match, and I'll be even happier if Pinkie makes it to the finals as well. I love Discord as much as the next person, but I will always back the Mane Six in any poll. So, let's have a great semifinals, and may the best pony (or Discord) win their rounds.

 

Well, while I am still a bit sore that AJ lost to Twilight by ONE pitiful vote, I think I'm going to have to make the controversial action of backing Twilight Sparkle this time. I know, it really pits me against a lot of people who voted for the same characters I did in prior rounds, but it must be done. But if Dash wins, I'll be perfectly fine with that.

Both are the characters in the series who have probably developed and changed the most since the beginning. Rainbow Dash edges out (more like steamrolls,  but trying to be objective-ish) Twilight because whereas Twilight just seemed to... change, Rainbow Dash seemed to learn from each of her lessons and show gradual improvement. Twilight's character development never interested me. Rainbow's has been consistently engaging. 

 

Doesn't hurt that Rainbow Dash features one of my favorite tropes, Inferiority Superiority Complex.

Main character of the series vs the character you probably think is the main character of the series if you're not a brony(idk, I did lol)? So voted Twilight, she's always been one of my favorite characters while Rainbow Dash... well, hasn't. Don't get me wrong, I like her and some of her episodes(Read it and Weep and Wonderbolt Academy are best Dash episodes), but Twilight is just better imo, hope she wins it all.

Well this simply won't do, will it? While Twilight is fantastic, I've always found Rainbow Dash to be much more interesting/complex/adorable/relatable/etc, so she gets my vote. I can only hope that she makes a strong comeback shortly.

Two ponies I confess I overlooked at first but really grew to love, Sleepless in Ponyville brought her up from my 3rd and then 2nd favorite pony and I started to give her a second look after a conversation with a friend and as much as I hated twilicorn it reminded me of why I love her and pushed her up from my 2nd favorite pony to tying with Applejack and Luna for my favorite. So bring it on Dash fans, I am backing Twilight Sparkle in this round.

I am of the opinion that both ponies are good but it should be Rarity there in their place because Rarity is best pony.

 

That being said, I'm backing Twilight for the reverse-popularity factor. There's way more RD fans than Twi fans so go Twilight.

When I said that I was going off of my perception of the overall forums. I've encountered way more RD fans here than Twilight fans.

That's not true. The poll only shows who has currently voted - it's not representative of all Twilight and RD fans. The official Favourite Pony thread has way more Rainbow Dash fans than Twilight fans, meaning that Twilight is in fact the underdog. She's simply happened to gain more votes so far.

I am split on this one.  I love 'em both, but at the same time was hoping I wouldn't have to choose between these two in particular this round, for other reasons.  With Twilight, I think I'm having a case of "main-character syndrom", and as such, I don't really want to vote for her.  On the other hand, I didn't want to vote for Rainbow Dash this round, and was hoping I'd be able to vote for somepony like Applejack, because, IDK, it strikes me as kinda generic?  I guess I was just hoping that there would be some candidates in this round who weren't so obvious.  *sigh* What to do, what to do?

 

Hmmm... well, I'm still really sore at Twilight for beating AJ in an eleventh hour victory; AJ was doing so strong, and those last minute votes came out of nowhere.  Guess I'll throw my weight behind good ol' Rainbow Dash, but don't count on my vote for sure in the finals; if Pinkie gets in I'll probably vote for RD, but Discord will be a little more problematic.  Ah well, for the time being, go Rainbow Dash!  Go get 'em ya awesome tomcolt, you!!!
