Could you hate someone you've never met?

Well I cant hate anyone for any reason.. even if I knew them face to face.. or even over the forums or the internet. Hate is wrong and to bring myself to hate another, I just cant do that.. when I did hate someone I was sick.. no kidding. but once I forgave them I was better in a few hours.. its odd.

No, but you can hate the idea of them.
Eddie Vedder put it best when he said "You don't love me - you love the idea of me." I think the same logic is applicable to hate as well.
So, until you truly get to know this person you feel animosity towards, you can't really say you hate *them*, per se.

Possibly, but not very truly i don't think, maybe temporarily, but even people i know i can't really hate truly very long.

yes, my friends told me about a guy who bashes me for watching MLP at work while im not there but when I am there he tries to be friendly. I hate two faced people but I will continue to let him think I don't know what he says about me so that I can use his false friendship against him later on.

Probably, but they'd have to do something very severe for me to hate them for a long period of time without ever having met them. So all in all, if I hate them, they probably did something that makes them more than deserve it.

That really depends if they've done something that I know about before meeting them. Like, I never had to meet Osama Bin Laden to know that I hated him. But for the most part, if I don't know about anything they've done then I generally take the approach that the person hasn't done anything to me so I have no reason to hate them

I don't think I have ever hated someone who I have never met before though. It is defiantly possible though. It happened to one of my online friends before. She was getting bullied so I became her friends.

Here's my example. Hitler, the Jews, and us. Hitler hated the jews with a passion, and for his crimes against humanity we hate him. But i have to wonder. If you had a time machine, used it to go back in time and see him while he's having his morning coffee, could you sit down across from him and strike up a decent conversation? It's not that we are without reason to hate others. It's just that we hate what they've done, and not really them

While I believe you can separate the art from the artist, I don't believe you can separate the personality from the genocidal tendencies. What we do is unequivocally a part of who we are.)

I could start off judging them and then hate them but I would prefer to get to know someone before eventually hating them. It's easy for me to tell who could be a future friend or a future enemy. So, yes, I could hate someone I've never met.

I really don't hate anyone! I mean don't get me wrong I am no saint and people do piss me off sometimes, but very rarely do I ever "Hate".
