Instant Messaging

I'd love to see some sort of an instant message box that you can use to chat with friends. It would be much easier than having to refresh private messages constantly.

Eh, it would be nice I guess, but the thing is it's a forum, and normally forums are great for the fact you don't have to be present when someone messages you.

 

I just use something like Skype if I wanna do private messaging that's insant, but that's just me.

 

Not saying its a bad idea exactly, just not sure if it's totally nessary for a forum or not in my opinion.

This isn't Facebook or some general social messaging site, and, for similar reasons to why we don't have a chat box or chat feature at all, I don't think an individually based IM system is something the community needs. Skype is something almost everyone has these days, and peoples' Skype is often linked to via their profile. I think it's far easier for you to take advantage of that, and Skype's plentiful IM resources, than to wait on the forum implementing an IM feature :3
