That doesn't necessarily count, since being a furry is dressing up like a persona (animal) or something like that. Not being sexually attracted to animals, even though some of them are. Plus, I consider the ponies part of a cartoon not a real animal since they do have realistic human traits which are like able.

I've been browsing the internet for years and I'm still not sure what a furry is.

A furry is a person who dresses up like an animal for fun.  It is another fandom that gets a lot of hate like the bronies.

I'm in both fandoms.

 

In a way they're two totally different fandoms. But in the same ways they're very similar. I know furries who despise bronies and I know bronies who despise furries. But I also know bronies that are furries and furries that are bronies.

 

Why hate? we're both in the same metaphorical boat here. You'd think the two fandoms would be allies.

I love anthropomorphic animals! I'm not a furry though, because it's never interested me to that degree. Never have I felt inclined to go talk with other people about humanoid animals or draw art of it etc. BUT, I do think Furries are cool because I love people who can get extremely passionate about artistic stuff. No we're not actually. A furry is not just someone who likes animals that talk, it's someone who BOTH likes anthropomorphic animals, typically followibng a humanoid form, AND participates in the furry fandom. You wouldn't call someone a brony if they watched MLP once and thought it was okay, would you? If this sounded rude then please understand I did not intend it to.

As with anything else, I don't mind them if they keep to themselves. I don't even care if they do furry-like things in front of me, just don't make a big deal about it. Making a big deal about it basically means you think you're special because of it, and that REALLY grinds my gears.

Being a brony doesnt mean your a furry. Anthro makes you a furry. Mlp is not anthro, well by my definition. But imo furries are perfectly fine. Every can do what they want in private.

I think the furry fandom is as interesting as the brony community being that they have their fair share of good people. Although there are those you don't want to be associated with, that can actually bring the fandom down. I love the fact that you can have a fursona that is you. I have a Corgi as a fursona.

Fur-ies? Eies with fur? M'iaq finds these people odd, having cat face will not permit you to wear more protective full face helms, and tails get in the way alot.
