Best (and Worst) Pony Merch

Hello there my fellow pony-goers! How many of you out there buy pony merchandise? Whether it be custom-made or top brand quality, post your thoughts and pictures here! Also, let's discuss things that you would buy and things that don't look so appealing, and why they don't seem to tickle your fancy.

 

 

I personally LOVE plushies and I have one on the way right now! It is a custom plush of my OC, Kismet (link in signature) and she is currently in a box shipping to my doorstep. I'll be sure to post tons of pictures when she arrives home!

 

 

 

On the contrary, I'm not much of a "trading card" type person. Sure they are cool to look at, but not good for much else. It seems better to me to spend your money on something you can cuddle and take pictures with like your very own My Little Pony

I have two shirts and quite awesome rainbow dash summer-shades (I look awful with, maybe gonna give them away if I find a real RD fan).

No plushies, posters or anything, idk why, maybe I should get some?... that pic makes me wanna xD

I have all the figure toys some from other sets, the light up balloon, walkin' talkin' Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash plush, Applejack farm set and the Pinkie Pie train.

 

I love collecting the toys, I can't choose the one I like the best. The only ones I really dislike are the blind bag toys, I've owned two and they were so tiny they had no where they would go so I ended up throwing them away. The regular figure toys, they can be displayed on top of my record shelves which is where I display my pony stuff. Those blind bag ones are too small for displaying, can't play with them, can't do anything with them.

I actually love the blind bag ponies. Though not the new ones, only waves 1,2,3, and 5. I even built a 3 story pony house for my little boy to put them in and make up stories.

Wood, and paint... wave 4 is the crystal/metallic colored ponies and 6-8 are not quite opaque. It's basically the colors. I don't like the partially clear ones I'll see if I can find two pics and put them together.

I consider most of the fan man stuff to be superior in every way. That said, there is a black Vinyl Scratch trucker hate for sale at the local Toy's R Us that I really want. My outside hat has taken quite a beating and I need a new one.

 

I totally misread that as "There's a Black Vinyl Scratch Trucker Hate Sale" - yes, I'm sure you meant "trucker hat", but the idea of a "hate sale" against truckers just caused a seriously funny mental image in my head, given the topic.

Hmm, I think the best would be handmade things made by bronies, rather than hasbro. The worst merchandise would be the 'walking talking pinkie pie' personally it just scares me!

holy crap, hasbro should hire you to design the merchandise. At least some one detailed oriented. I agree about some of the toys. I really like the blind bag/ mini figurines. they are pretty close to characters.

I agree, of all the toys available at my local Toys 'R' Us, the Blind-Bag figurines are the only things that speak actual quality. Even then, they're obviously just three or four common molds and a bunch of different paint and decal patterns - their Fluttershy has the right colors but nowhere near the right mane or tail. But at least they're reasonably close to the show.

 

On the other hand, I saw a Twlight Sparkle plushie there that looked more like a misshapen Cabbage Patch Kid than a pony. *shiver*

 

Hasbro really is missing out on a potentially lucrative market by licensing out their characters to high-quality home builders like SoaringSentinel here. People really would pay good money for such excellent work.

There is a whole bunch of them at Hot Topic, and I do have the means to pick you up one... I've never shipped anything overseas before though, so I don't know how that would work out. If you know more about doing so, I could possibly pick one up and ship it to you, as long as it's not too much hassle for me on my end.

What country are you in?  International shipping CAN be expensive, but it's not too terribly awful - you can probably get First Class Mail International for around $10 US or so, with tracking.

Hand made plushies are my favorite merch as well. Honestly they're the only thing I'm really interested in. The plastic toys are too expensive and not cuddly and I have no space to make a display or anything like that.

 

I've never shipped anything overseas before though, so I don't know how that would work out. If you know more about doing so, I could possibly pick one up and ship it to you, as long as it's not too much hassle for me on my end.

I've done it before. It's not too much trouble. Just box it up, take it to the post office, fill out a customs form, and pay the exorbitant price (probably not too crazy for something as small and lightweight as a pair of headphones)

Good idea. I was there only a week ago and they were there... perhaps it's a local thing and they don't offer shipping? I can actually speak with experience and say that they don't offer everything on their website that they actually have in stock. They have a lot of stuff at the local Hot Topics that aren't on their website.

Yeah, that's pretty typical of retail outlets.  The site is just their online presence.

 

I also did a quick search for "Rainbow Dash headphones" on Amazon.com and found a couple sets of earbuds, but nothing like the over-the-ear headphones pictured in this thread.  So unfortunately, looks like they're not going to be much help here either.
