Yes I think there should be a sequel! It was a great movie and there is soooo many different ways they can do a sequel! Here are just a few of the ideas I thought of how they could possibly do it!

1. The Ponyville mane 6 could go to the human world and meet their alternate self.

2. The opposite of number 1 the mane 6 human versions visit Equestria.

3. Twilight visits Canterlot High to see how things are going only to find out something bad has happened (I don't know what)

4. A HUGE problem is happening for both places and the only way to save it is to use the power of friendship from both places and the human and pony versions of each other have to team up with each other. (but the humans would remain humans and ponies would remain ponies or they might have to transition between worlds and ponies in Equestria and humans in the human world.)

I know some people didn't like the movie but I'm entertained by everything MLP:FiM

I know some people want a sequel for Equestria Girls but, I think that one movie is good enough. If we got a sequel, then Hollywood would start to buy the rights to the movie and start milking the movie by making more sequels just like what they did to Toy Story. Whoever wants a sequel that is fine too but, expect it to be milked to death until there is no more sequels which will get money.

I just watched the movie last night and i must say, yes I would love a sequel. I of course would prefer more time with background characters because they are my favorite anymore but even if it was just another movie about them going through the portal after it some how reopening to check on Sunset Shimmer's progress, well i think that'd just be awesome.
Even better if they find out the Twin twilight is actually a villain who has taken over the town somehow. (Okay maybe that is going to Far)

P.S. Colgate saves the day with her Time Lord/dentist skillz

I'd be fine with that as long as they didn't suck out the voice actors and the writing staff cause that's the important part of this. The Art and animation, the great voice acting and the stellar writing staff and SUPERB Music staff. If they keep those parts let them milk it a little cause that will still cause the community to find little things to take from it and expand on their own.

Honesty, I believe that, while it would be hard to make, the writers have the ability to make a successful sequel.

Altough, I would rather see this become it's own T.V.show.

I support this idea for a TV series of some sort. But i feel it wouldn't be that easy to do well because that means the staff who created the origianl MLP FIM would have to work on both series to make the fan's happy. Unless they could find extra staff that could cater to the fans just as well as the origianls.

I don't know. It was an alright movie, and I'm sure the writers could improve upon the issues of Equestria Girls and complaints from fans for a sequel, and I do want to see what happens with the HuMane 5 and Sunset Shimmer. However, I'm not certain a sequel movie should be made. Maybe an episode or two that either references Equestria Girls, or the main characters somehow visit the place out of different means than the mirror.

Yes, i would love one. But i would like a Pony long film more then a humanish version. The movie was actually AWESOME, but i think ponies are way better. I mean who here doesn't like ponies? :)

But yes a sequel would be great.

In my humble opinion, the movie was good, but not great. I'd rather the show staff put their effort into making actual episodes of MLP, because I consider those better in most aspects (especially animation, story, and literary character depth and development). If another MLP movie does get made, I'd prefer it to be more like a 2-parter but with more time to flesh out its story and concepts--imagine if Return of Harmony was that length! o3o

Whilst I did think the movie was great, I agree that the writers should spend more time on FIM stuff instead of EQG stuff:

Also loved that vid of Scootalove :)

(Searched "Equestria Girls Sequel" - no results)

From what I've seen on the forums and a couple other places here and there I think Equestria Girls was received a lot better than people originally thought it would. So if Hasbro pulled out a decent story would you like to see a continuation or do you think that one was enough? Personally I really enjoyed it and I'd love for there to be a second EQG movie.

Bonus points if you can think up a worthy plot.

Why bother?
I mean, this movie itself is already so filled with major plot holes, and two of them appear only ten minutes into the film.
I'd rather Equestria Girls remain a standalone film.

If someone pulls off a decent plot, it's not Hasbro. It would be someone from the staff like McCarthy.

And no, I wouldn't like a sequel. Why?

Well, since I would simply ignore it, if it would ever happen, I'd simply stick to FiM and wouldn't care about a second movie. Unless it affects the show itself. I'd be disappointed, I'd possibly even rage, but I couldn't change anything about it. And in the end I'd possibly even like it. Ugh...

You can say about the movie what you want, but from a technical point of view it was very weak. I don't know if it was shortened, they simply didn't have enough time, or McCarthy simply doesn't care about plotlines and -devices that can easily been seen as forced, gap filled and anything but decent. I just don't know.

All I can say is that EqG was not what I hoped it to be in the end. I watched it four times now and it still doesn't feel that good. My reviews are outdated. A sequel could do it better, but that would require that it is also done better.

So, I'm unsure about a sequel. So I say no. To spare myself the possibility of being -sadly- disappointed again. Not the best perspective, I know.

Why? If you liked it or not it was a one shot thing and it should stay that way.

Now a Canon FIM movie would be great, Perhabs with more focus on Luna and Celestia and interduce A villain who is pretty much the devil.

As much as I loved the movie (despite it's flaws), I just don't see a sequel as necessary. The concept itself just isn't creative enough to warrant much else in terms of entertainment. This is why I was glad when it was revealed that EqG was a movie rather than a show. At some point, it would get really old and the concept does not open many doors for advancement, if any.

As much as I loved the movie, I don't think a sequel is necessary. The first movie already had some... issues (even though I loved it). I honestly think they should just stick with FIM. :3

I completely agree with you.  There are a lot of movie sequels out there that completely ruin the original.  Also what reason would there be to go back into that world?  "Oh no!  Twilight Sparkle lost her crown!...........AGAIN!".  But anyways I can see that Hasbro may want to do it for money, as they and most everyone else really does like money (me included).  But then of course a lot of us didn't like EQG at first but changed our minds when we saw it.  So all in all I'll keep an open mind for a sequel but I still agree with you that there doesn't need to be one.

I would love to see what they would do if they could make a sequel, but I don't really think its needed. I can't really think of any possible reasons for a sequel, but it would be pretty fun to watch the ponies interact with their human counterparts.

@,

Looks like this was already a thing after all. Your thread has been merged with the original one.

As for myself, I'd love another MLP movie but I really don't need it to be EQG 2. They'd be better off exploring other concepts with more potential in my opinion.

(Warning, strongly opinionated)

No.  That movie was the most colossal vibe killer and show ruiner ever to strike the face of the earth.  Instead of making a sequel, we should start a fund to find all copies of the movie and burn them.

As long as they can handle it and do it well (which a bet they could) then sure! There were a lot of things left unanswered in EG, so making a sequel would be fun to see and help clear some things up.

But I mean of course I'd love to see an MLP movie with ponies in it as well, but I mean I would love to see a EG sequel too!

I think it could make for a decent introduction to another spin-off of the My Little Pony series.  I mean, having Sunset Shimmer be friends with the other mane 5 in a humanized world?  Sounds like it could make for another series if one handled it well enough.

I would definitely support the idea if they were to make a sequel to the movie, but why would Twilight need to go back through the portal and what would the movie be about, then is my question.
