Which Pony had it the Worst in Magical Mystery Cure

So my friend and I enjoy watching and singing along to "A True, True Friend". Every time we get to Applejack, my friend states that she thinks Applejack had it the worst and that her part is the saddest because she's so frustrated and she starts crying. I'm willing to back up and respect that opinion. But what do you all think?
 

Rainbow Dash had it pretty bad, I mean, the animals HATED her and wanted to eat her!

 

Poor Fluttershy's was bad, too. When nopony laughs at you and then they suddenly laugh at a baby dragon wearing a funny mask (even though you've TRIED that), it can be pretty embarrassing.

 

I can understand why Pinkie Pie was frustrated. Being the element of laughter, she really doesn't like chores, and having so many while not knowing how to do them can be pretty saddening. Her hair was flat, for one thing, which shows a lot of sorrow.

 

Applejack, again, also had it pretty bad. She's supposed to make dresses, and she doesn't really know much about sewing. Mostly she made country dresses that didn't even have very good color combos, if you ask me. Some country ponies may buy them, but mostly, they'd be spending their money on farm equipment, and most other ponies just don't want that type of clothing.

 

Rarity's, in my opinion, was one of the worst. She's out in terrible weather. There's lots of wind, rain, snow, hail, lightning, sleet, and blazing sunshine all at once, and that can be pretty bad, especially when you're making everypony else mad (and just making Fluttershy's job harder).

 

Twilight Sparkle also really had it frustrating. All her friends' destinies were messed up and it was all her fault, and she has no idea how to fix it. And she HATES not knowing things.

 

They all had reasons to cry, but Rarity and Applejack were really the only ones who did at some point, or that's all I remember. Maybe Twilight did, too. But what do you think?

Her best friend's coronation and sappy speech aside (where everyone else teared up too), Applejack only cries when something really bad happens: she cried when her family nearly lost the farm and also after such an important event held by her family was ruined and her home destroyed. So, if such a stubborn pony is crying, she must be suffering.

 

On the other hand, being thrown into a pot by fork and spoon wielding animals is pretty bad too.

In most cases, they do seem equally bad. But I think Rarity has it worse.

 

While the others issues were mostly personal problems, Rarity caused a public disturbance. She was hated on by every pony in Ponyville, and also, the weather would be completely unstable, further threatening the town. And I don't think she can deal with that very well while she's alone.

You also are right, and thanks for adding that Rarity was alone during this experience. Usually the ponies (I refer to Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6,000) do better when they're together!

I would guess that all of them had suffered equally. Their destinies were damaged and all had been put into unsuitable situations that none were capable of handling. They were sad and distressed from that.

Not just because she was not having fun and had no idea what she was doing. But if she counted doing what she was doing, it would have caused Sweet Apple Acres to close and leave 3 Apple family member homeless.

Well depends on in what manner you call worst.

 

I mean feeings wise I actually kinda have to say Twilight, Expecially after "I have to find a way" I mean think of it this way, you basically made one stupid little hasty mistake, and now you've gone and ruined all of your friends lives, not to mention the whole town. That has to hurt for feelings. Especially knowing you don't really have a way to fix it since you already tried(Or atleast she thought for awhile.)

 

Maybe I just think "I have to find a way" was to beautiful, not to mention Twilight crying got me.

 

Now I think my next runner up would be Rainbow Dash, i mean she was about to be eaten it looks like... That can't end well honestly.

 

I think they all had it bad in one way or another, but those two are up at the top. its hard to categorize it really. I mean they all kinda felt different pains and stuff.

Actually, right before Rainbow Dash clears the sky, Rarity is seen with tears in her yes. But you are right, Pinkie Pie and Rarity cry a lot when they're frustrated, and AJ hardly ever cries, but she does anyway.

All of them. They were all stuck in a position where they were doing what they thought they were meant to do and inexplicably failing at it. They had the memories of being in that position and the cutie mark reinforcing the fact that they were meant to do this. Yet they were really bad at it and hated doing it. I'm in agreement, that AJ and Dash are probably the worst off of the two, and I also cannot decide between the two of them.

Twilight had confusion, uncertainty, and guilt to deal with as she realized that her friends' sense of identity had been fundamentally altered and it was entirely her fault. She understood the gravity of the spell's effects, and had to find a way to fix it. However, she didn't experience the same confusion the other five had to deal with. While she had to grapple against her own insecurity in her talent, she didn't experience the same emotional turmoil. 

 

For the other five, the memories of their lives were completely altered. They had to deal with realizing that for some reason, they were no good at their special talents anymore. They had no passion and the very thing that made them unique was gone. That's a hard thing to deal with. Emotionally, I would say that they were slightly worse off than Twilight. At least she was still aware of her identity and had an idea of what to do to get through her rough spot. The others had no clue what was wrong. I can't say that it was an emotionally worse experience for any of the five of them. They all reacted to it in different ways based on personality, but were essentially going through the same personal crisis. 

 

Applejack and Fluttershy were failing at their jobs, but there wasn't any danger of major injuries for either of them. Pinkie Pie and Rarity could have gotten seriously injured from lack of knowledge of their profession, but they weren't in an immediate danger. Rainbow Dash was in the most physical danger. She was the only one with any immediate risk of dying, because the animals were trying to eat her. I guess Rainbow Dash had it the worst.

I personally think Rarity had it the worst. First of all weather is a pegasus job not a unicorns. Second of all she never had to deal with controlling the weather her whole life and suddenly she's in charge of everything. Last but not least all the ponies in Ponyville started yelling at her and were upset with her even though this was her first time controlling the weather.

She gave them frostbite, which can completely kill extremities, as well as sunburns so serious that the ponies turned bright red. They would be sloughing skin for a week. Constant abuse by an angry mob of ponies would definitely ruin your day.

Actually, it quoted in the lyrics of "What My Cutie Mark Is Telling Me": " I'm in love with weather patterns but the others have concerns, for I just gave them frostbite overtop of their sunburns". Also, in the video it shows the ponies standing bright red, and then snow blowing over and covering them.

Huh. Listened to it again. You're right. My bad. Oh, well. Rarity did have it pretty bad. Curious if she was actually controlling the weather with her horn, or if the weather was just a result of no one controlling the weather.

I think she did horn-control it, because she said to Twilight "Don't you love the patterns I've made?" or something to that effect, and then when the townsponies surround her, chattering angrily, she says "Too last season?". It makes it apparent that she's doing the controlling.

 However, that does add a plot hole. Rarity was never meant to control weather, so unless she used some form of telekinesis, it would show that a unicorn can control things outside of their element.

She became so depressed that she wanted to move back to Cloudsdale. CLOUDSDALE! S felt the place where she had been constantly bullied and tormented was a better place to be than where everyone hated her. Fluttershy's worst fear is being rejected, shunned and laughed at. So even if she made the ponies laugh she would feel bad anyway, because she hates being the center of attention. My heart broke for her when I saw her trying to make the ponies laugh. It must have been horrible.

I think Pinkie and Dash had it the hardest. Pinkie had a hard time doing chores and major property damage could have been caused. Personally, I'm TERRIFIED of animals and it would be really traumatizing to experience animals attempting to cook & eat me.
