It's finally done. 

 

 

I wasn't sure if I should put this here, or in the Fan Works section, but I decided to put it here seeing as it's not my own work.

 

 

I've been waiting for this for a long time, and it did not leave me disappointed. Out of all the fan animations I've seen, this is visually my favorite one. The animation itself is absolutely wonderful, and it's only pushed further by the fantastic cinematography. Luna looks flawless and the character designs for the OC's are really well done, they fit into environment very well.

Speaking of which, the background art is just awesome, and the over all colour pallet makes everything look... just... so pretty. It gives everything a really fantastic vibe.

 

The concept for the story itself is also really awesome, and potentially my favorite one so far as fan animations go. However, the only reason I wasn't as entertained by the story as much as some of the other works is because it feels more like a teaser for something bigger, then a stand alone short.

 

Over-all, I really do love this. It was worked on by two people (with help from voice actors, musicians etc), and I know how hard that is. They clearly put a lot of love into this, and their efforts show. I hope to see more from them

I loved this video when I saw it last night.  I was absolutely blown away.  It still amazes me what the fans of this show can do.  I've never been in a fandom that put out so much great stuff before and this video takes the cake.

It's a wonderful video, it always amazes me the talent and creativity people in the fandom have.

 

I wonder if Celestia knew what Luna was doing with the children when she woke up and looked at the moon at the end. She might have thought, It's time to have a talk with my sister, once and for all. The rest is history.

Yeah this is actually probably my favorite fan animation so far. The only issue I can actually say is that the animation at times isn't so extremely smooth, but really it doesn't have to be and I'm going straight out of my way to find faults. I really like the way the cinematography was handled, I like the color scheme, I like the way they all move about, I pretty much like everything except yeah it does kind of feel more like a trailer for something bigger, which I guess isn't really a bad thing and is moreso due to the unfortunate fact that it's short.

The fact that this is motherf**king fan made still leaves me surprised. They did a really nice job with this. It makes me curious on how they put it together so perfectly like that. It looks like it came strait from the show.

I've been waiting for this video for months.

It's finally arrived and I find out that the story it's telling ruined it for me.

Always the fandom putting one sister against the other and gushing all over Luna, the fearless rebellious leader fighting the almighty tyrant.

I... found it very atmospheric. The animation was crisp, though a few times I saw some things that bugged me a tad. The song was very enchanting, something id play to give something more drama. And I do agree that they put a lot of love into this, and by god does it show. Gold star guys.

Everything about the animation, is pretty well done and put together. Sure, we've had Snowdrop and Sonic Rainboom but this one really does look impressive. Simply excellent, a year well spent. DHX needs to hire the creators and voice actors of this fan animation, and fast. Celestia must have been asking ''I wonder where Luna is.'' *Looks out the window* '' I think I've had too much sugar tonight.''

Well animation wise this is the best one I have seen in a long time. This looks almost as good as the show. But story wise, I have to say it was weak. To me it just seems like Luna just kidnapped a bunch of kids. Still overall it was alright.

Yeah, even though I'm not a big fan of Luna I still quite liked this fan animation, it looked really good. But what impressed me the most was the song itself- the voice they got to sing for Luna was just beautiful, I haven't heard singing that impressive in a long time. I don't know if it was the way she held the notes or the little things she did with her voice that I loved most, but I have to say it really swooned me...

The fact that a fan made this is bewildering! Like everyone said, it's amazing to see just what people can do in a fandom, especially when something like this is shown. This had obvious effort, and was even more well done than I could have imagined.

This was a really nice animation, and the song of course was well sung and everything. The story in the beggining was good and cryptic, and the way everything is animated is show like, but still has some extra lighting affects, which look really pretty in the night setting.

 

So i'd say its quite a good animation.

I am as surprised as you are that I am saying this:

 

I was disappointed. Yes, I said it. I watched the trailer for this close to a year ago and loved it. Seeing the final product, I like it but it was not as good as I thought it was going to be.

 

Don't get me wrong for fan animation it is the best, yet I can absolutely tell the difference between the final product and show material. What blew it? Luna's neck animation probably.

 

What else? I love love love love Luna, but I thought the vocals didn't match seamless to her. Looking forward to her confirmed singing in Season 4 with a passion.

 

So yeah, still am blown away by the teaser (funny enough), but my high expectations were not met by the finished item.

I was also waiting for this to come out for a long time, and while it is good, I think I would have been more blown away by it had it just come from out of nowhere rather than having almost a years worth of hype surronding it.

 

Still I'm intrigued by the whole premise. Luna wanted to create her own kingdom of night, but Celestia forbade this; having two seperate kingdoms, one for night and one for day instead of one kingdom with a day and night cycle would cause a rift in Equestria. But Luna disobeyd and took all the orphans of the kingdom away to form her new kingdom. And this is what started the schism between the two sisters.

I love this video! It's pretty cool. Sure there are little things about it that could be better, but I'm going to enjoy it for what it is. I've always been fond of Luna, so that just makes this video all the better. The song is pretty cool too.

Basically, Luna wanted to help out the poor fillies hurt the most after Discords rule, and make a new kingdom, helping them out. But Celestia refused, thinking a divide in kingdoms would lead to a divide in harmony and togetherness which was sorely needed.

 

Luna says, screw that, I'm doing it anyway. According to the description, most likely Celestia's reaction to that was one of the reasons Luna's banishment become necessary, so Celestia basically created her own enemy.

 

Feeling so bad for poor Luna right now.
