Who's the Best Designed Pony?

I actually haven't said my favourites yet (Raindow is my 2^nd favourite though) but it looks like many people agree. In the mane six it's Rarity for reasons many have already said. Her white coat stresses she won't get dirty, her purple mane showing how regal she is, the curls and gradients showing her complexity, and uniqueness.

 

For non-mane six it'd be Scootaloo. Her warm colour scheme reflects her fiery attitude and how much energy she has. She's also a bit hotheaded, suggesting to zip line even though we're not sure any pony has zip lined before.

Mane 6: I'd have to say Applejack, which is slightly ironic, seeing as she is my least favorite of the Mane 6. For some reason, I just really like her design. It just seems so solid for some reason.

 

Side Characters: This one is bit more difficult. In my opinion, only a very small amount of the side characters have really good designs, but I'm going to have to go with Luna. I just really like her coloring, Cutie Mark, mane (Insert Sweetie Belle here); it all just seems so complete.

 

Background Characters: Octavia, hands down. We don't see that many gray ponies (With the exception of Derpy and a few others), plus her design is great; the cello really brings it together. Her amazing design is one of the reasons why she is one of my favorite background ponies.

Regarding color scheme, my favorite is Rainbow Dash. While Rarity has the best hair style among the mane six, the overall look from Applejack is nothing less than great.

But with regard to overall look, I have to choose Rainbow, eventhough I rather like Twilight design a bit better.

From the side characters, my choise is Discord, whose design and color are both great. Wise decición from a creative perspective regarding color balance. But he isn't a pony at all at this point, so my second choise would be Princess Luna, which I think is a well designed character, even though overall color is a bit repetitive and rather darker than I would like it to be. However I really like her starry flowing mane.

Eventhough I never feel myself related with a background pony due the lack of content about their stories or personalities. I think Vinyl Scratch overall look is really cool, both design and color scheme.

I know I do this a lot, but I'd say it's a toss-up between Rarity and Rainbow Dash.

Out of the main 6, i think AJ is the best designed. I just think everything goes together nicely, and the hat tops it off. if your not talking the main 6 i would say discord, all the villains all have nice designs. If it has to be a pony, Princess Luna.

I really love Fluttershy for her character and her cuteness. If she had only a little less in common with me then I could even consider her as my waifu (or how you call it).
 

But regarding design. Since I returned to drawing I just fell in love in Rarity design ! She is the prettiest pony and she has the most beautiful and most interesting appearance (I'm really sorry you Fluttershy ). In my opinion her character can be fit and put in a lot more very different situations and scenes, as opposed to the rest of mane six. She can play cute, smart, hard, fabulous, sport, silly, drama, serious... and many more ones. It can be off her character but not so much off her design. What's more, I think Rarity has the most interesting, funniest and most memorable facial expressions in the show - I just love her facial expressions and body language, animators are doing it very well. Only Pinkie Pie can compete with her in that matter.

Apple jack. Her design IS IDENTICAL to the cereal.

Think about it: Her main color is orange, and she has green eyes.

The cereal is mainly orange, with a few green ones.

I wonder if she tastes like cinnamon?

...I always loved Rainbow Dash's design the best, surprising nobody. Cyan is a pleasant color, and it compliments her love of the sky. Her mane's also very unique, and really catches the eye, especially when she's dressed up for an occasion. Her eye color is also my favorite. Rarity's design is also wonderful. Those two stand out to me among the Mane Six, though they all have good designs.

 

For other ponies, Spitfire and Luna come to mind. Spitfire's isn't especially complicated other than her fiery mane, but it doesn't really have to be to get your attention. Luna takes kind of the opposite route, but she's nice to look at all the same.

 

More or less this :3 Dash has a sleek, eye-catching design that dares to berate the gay stereotype by being a blatant rainbow design, matched with her tomboy personality. Then Spitfire's design is elegant and extremely well-put together. The overall fire theme is fantastic, and not something you see very much in other ponies as far as elemental representation goes.

I still love Blossomforth's design and I really don't know why I love it so much. She's just a recolored pegasues Twilight. There's just something about her color's.

Villain: Discord. Sorry, but Nightmare Moon feels kinda bland, same for King Sombra and Chrysalis looks like a dying creature. Total mess really.

Rarity is at first place as I mentioned in earlier post.

At second place I would put Luna - I really love her design, especially her head/face, she is so pretty. In first season she looked younger and very cute. Now she still are very adorable and looks more mature, I think that in some scenes she looks even more serious/mature than Celestia.

From background characters, I don't know. Maybe Thunderlane - I think he looks cool. And also Octavia looks very nice.

I like Rainbow Dash's and Twilight Sparkle's mane style. Despite Pinkie Pie being my favorite pony, her mane is a bit too poofy. As for design overall, I do like Twilight's, Rainbow's and Pinkie's.

Oh man, I love the designs of many ponies. They're not only super adorable, but they're some of the most effective designs in all of animation. A good example of this is the Mane 6. Since they all come in different colours and have different mane styles, it's easy to identify them all.

 

But overall, my favourite has to be Fluttershy. Her mane fits her timid personality and weak flying, and the colours chosen for her make sense, since in some places, yellow represents shyness. I also love her droopy eyes.

Shady Daze. It's who I modeled my OC after. He also has a common model with three other background ponies, including Button Mash, but it's really the color schemes and the expressions that do it for me on Shady.

I'd say my favorite design of the mane 6 would be Rarity, I enjoy the purple on white, and love that her mane is so different from the types of manes you see in the rest of the show.

 

Outside of the mane 6, I would probably say that my favorite design would be Vinyl,  I like the blue, on lighter blue, on white coloring, and I think that her glasses fit really well for the kind of character she is in the show.  And I was honestly surprised to see that in a character that originally only appeared in a very short clip from the show in season one, and not shown again until much later.

Rarity. I love that combination of pure white and deep purple. It's simply elegant.

The best designed is Fluttershy in my opinion... her body is my #1 favorite color of all time, her mane and tail are my #2 favorite color of all time, and her eyes are my #3 favorite color.

 

The yellow represents her softness, the pink represents her sweetness, and her eye color--somewhat greenish like grass and somewhat blueish like sky--could represent her gentleness and love of  nature.
