Is Princess Twilight Sparkle a God?

We know that Celestia and Luna are considered gods because of them being alicorns and the rulers of Equestria.  Does twilight becoming an alicorn make her a god?  Because she is a alicorn, I assume she has inmortality like Luna and Celestia, but does this really mean she is a god?                                                                                                                                                                                                                            What do you think?

I'm getting really tired of these questions..we don't know and won't know until season 4. You're gonna have to just sit and watch..it's gonna be awhile but be patient sugarcube.

According to this video, Twilight is a god.

Anyway, I guess she could be a god since she's related to Celestia and Luna now.. Congratulations, Twily.

No. Watch EQG. Watch the spoilers. She is no god. She doesn't change at all, except she has wings.

She won't be able to move the sun, the moon, or the stars, but if she tries and actually does, it would be kinda... epic.

Well, there seems to be greater justification for Twilight pulling off such feats. Her magic was extremely advanced by the beginning of Season 3; it grew only stronger once she pulled off a spell even Starswirl the Bearded never completed. If she actually began to affect celestial bodies, I for one would not be totally surprised.

That having been said, comments by the staff suggest that Twilight is not an immortal being on par with Celestia and Luna -- not yet, anyway.

That is true. Then again, Twilight's talent is magic, while Celestia's and Luna's are specifically raising the sun and moon, it appears to be.

We don't know what Starswirl's capabilities are, or even if Celestia and Luna can cast the same destiny-altering, world-shaking spell that Twilight did in the season finale.

I'll enjoy seeing her grow into, well, whatever she'll become.

Well since it's not really canon, I'm not sure how much of that movie we can take as a thing, BUT the fact that without her element she was still able to channel harmony kinda says something about her new power. But I'll agree with you, Celestia and Luna are still the gods up high of Equestria, Twilight's a demi.

I am a Brony. I love being a Brony, Twilight is best pony.

No, Twilight most likely is a demi god meaning she is quite a bit more powerful than your typical pony but then again she was even before the transformation. Since Cadence's introduction it seems the idea of all alicorns being immortal/long lived has been retconned I think that Cadence and Twilight are a lower class of alicorn than Celestia and Luna but are clearly above ordinary ponies. Twilight has likely gotten a power boost from the transformation but how much of one and how much more powerful she will get is anyone's guess and how that is handled will be one of the key factors in whether or not this will work out.

The God type Alicorns seem to have there hair radiating an energy there related too. Other than that Alicorns seem to age normally if there hair is normal.

So the final stage for Twilight Sparkle will be when her hair radiates some weird essence.

Holy crap! Are you kidding? Equestria is a world filled with magic and honestly you could say that every pony is a God depending how you define "God". All four of the princess are rulers and very powerful magically, but they are not worshiped as such. Yes they are respected, but no more than any king or queen and much less than Roman emperors or other "living Gods" were in history. So the answer is no she is not a God.

I dont think any of them are gods.

I think there creator maybe created then as stewards over the earth to keep the peace. But yeah this will be explored in the future maybe? they dont like to do much history in episodes though.

Not to me. I don't view even Celestia or Luna as "Gods", just powerful beings. The world of MLP: FiM is a fantasy universe where the true governing force is magic, allowing anything to happen, including the existence of all the fantastical creatures.

I'm going to say flat out no since I don't think Celestia and Luna should even count as gods. If anything Discord should count as a god, and Celestia and Luna should count as being at the same level as Angels. For all we know Celestia and Luna could be normal ponies who were high powered unicorns that discovered a way to make themselves Biologically immortal. Since its the magical land of equestria I'm sure there is some "I don't have to explain it, its magic" reason why luna could survive on the moon.

No, just because she became a Alicorn does not make her a "god", I just makes her have an extended life. An example of this would be Princess Cadence as well, Princess Cadence is not a "god" and is still an alicorn. I think the term "god" is a bit much to describe Princess Celestia and Luna. They are just very powerful beings and have been given a very long life span.

I gotta say, I much prefer Scottish!Spike to the one in canon. Also: Celestia using Twilight as a guinea pony for potions testing?  BAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAAA!

Actually it has been said officially that Twilight will not outlive her friends, thus in my eyes not immortal.

On the original question I think it can be said with assurity that Twilight will not be a goddess as she is an awakened alicorn not a a born alicorn... admittingly I don't see Celestia and Luna as goddesses anyway but that is besides the point.

Oh, and to be a deity you must have a religion surrounding you being such with worshippers. Even mythological gods and goddesses had worshippers, had a religion surrounding them.

@@Mzukiller,

Even if it's not canon, it was still made by the same writers, right? Besides, who would want to watch a show wherein the main character is a god?

Well, Twilight did display nearly godlike powers when she was trying to hatch Spike's egg. If Celestia didn't show up,what would have become of Equestria with Twilight floating in mid-air, with eyes glowing as her power ramped up off the scale? Besides that, I've always thought of Celestia and Luna as more like alien ponies from another planet. Look at the Crystal Empire castle. I think it could be the starship that brought the royal sisters to Equestria. Twilight could have some alien pony blood in her ancestry. Through careful guidance, she reached the full potential promised by her genetic coding.

(did I just over-think that?)

... and there we go folks, the wild theory of the day. Glad to see such a creative and interesting theory involving alicorns. Reminds me of the theory that Ponyville was created by Celestia for Twilight because she was lonely. Edited by EquestrianScholar

No. Princess Twilight Sparkle is not a god.

Princess Celestia is not a god either, and neither are all the other alicorns. They're really, really powerful magical beings, sure, but they're not gods.

Any source that says that alicorns are god are fan sources made by fans who wanted to make the show seem more hardcore than it actually is, and possibly to coincide with all the mythological elements.
