movies/tv Underrated TV Shows

All right every pony. Is there a tv show that you like but it's either not that popular or is extremely hated. Well then this is the place to share these shows. here's mine:

Total Drama:This one's honestly become a guilty pleasure for me as of lately, I know it's not the most original idea but it's got some funny references to keep me entertained.

Dan vs.: I don't see that much talk about this show, it was pretty funny. Too bad it got canceled.

The Amazing World of Gumball: The only argument I've seen against this show is that it's stupid. I personally think it's kind of funny and I like how it uses different art styles.

Anyway discuss away.

Young Justice. That show was something that DC decided to make to put on Cartoon Network, the show was really good until Cartoon Network got rid of it completely.

Yeah I heard they canceled Young Justice and it ended on a cliff hanger like with Teen Titans. I agree those should have gotten at least one more season

  1. Leverage was a really, really good comedy/detective/awesomeness thing that was canceled after a few seasons. :( The only time I ever see any talk about it is if I search for it. It's sad, cause it's a really epic show. You have a bunch of criminals doing a Robin Hood type thing, and there's some amazing comedy put in there. :D

  2. Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes. May be a kid's show, but man do I love it! The humor is awesome, I love the animation style and the script is really well written!

Alcatraz. Canceled after its first season, it was an amazing show while it ran. The story was complex, the actors were awesome, and the sets were brilliant!

Touch. By far one of my favorite TV shows of all time, it was canceled after 2 or 3 seasons. I can't even explain what it's about, but it is soooo awesome. Look it up! Just keep in mind it was abruptly canceled after a grueling cliff-hanger....

The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes is a really underrated show. It has a good theme song; it has great characters and character development; great animation; good plot; and it can be very funny. It can be pretty addictive, and I don't really understand why it isn't that popular. It's a great show.

Let's see here...

  • Dan VS. - It's a great and funny show. Plus, my friend and I imagine that's how we'll act in the future, with me as Dan and her as Chris. Also..Dan's cat is so adorable. <3

I...that's all I really have. Most shows I'm into have pretty big fanbases (any anime I enjoy, ponies, and anything else I might enjoy), so yeah, that's my only vote.

Also, I don't think Dan VS has been canceled, maybe on a short hiatus, but probably not canceled.

Dan VS: easily the best original show the HUB has aired aside from MLP, Dan and his over the top anti social often destructive antics are hilarious. He is alot like the friend who introduced me to ponies except with a much much worse temper and a much worse violent/nasty streak. I really hope it hasn't been cancelled, that show is awesome.

Green Lantern The Animated Series: damn you Cartoon Network this was one of your best shows why did you have to cancel it?

Thundercats (2011): another show that should not have been cancelled and just when it was getting really interesting.

Nowhere do I find people that list Psych under their favorite shows list. This leads me to believe it is an underrated show. It's friggin' fantastic.

It's ironic how I fall just to get back up again...

One underrated cartoon that I know that got cancelled due to low ratings is Nickelodeon's Catscratch.

tumblr_lv6l5juo1g1r6g2myo1_400.png

This cartoon had everything, a good cast, funny premise, great use of imagination and creativity, being well paced, and overall funny as heck.

Sadly, it only got 20 episodes before Nick wanted something else....

Yeah I remember that show. From what I remember from it it was pretty good. Though the only episodes I remember was one wear the cats went to the moon and another where the cats try to sneak into a birthday party to get root beer.

Yeah Dan Vs. is pretty underrated, Pound Puppies too. Don't watch either much but I like what I've seen of them. I guess there are some major network shows that I've seen that were cancelled that I liked but I can't remember any names atm...

I guess I'll say Dragon Ball Z. Of course, I don't think it's underrated in a popularity sense (because everyone and their grandma knows about it).

It gets a pretty large amount of hate.

Starship Troopers: The Roughneck Chronicles

Though this one isn't underrated so much as under-the-radar.

I told a guy about it once, his reaction was "They made Starship Troopers into a cartoon?!" Yes. Yes they did.

It doesn't have the politics of the book or the gore of the films, obviously. What it has is memorable characters in a war against alien arachnids, which is totally awesome.

It's not a perfect show. They dialed the bugs back enough from what's seen in the film that sometimes it hard to see them as a credible threat, such as one instance where one warrior bug grabs a guy in his jaw for several whole seconds and he suffers only minor injury. Again, kid's show, but such instances can still hurt the immersion. There are also some passing attempts at romance later in the show that barely dodge being cringe worthy. Worst of all, it was cancelled just before completion.

Despite these issues, it's pretty much my favorite cartoon, right up there with FiM.

Man how I loved that show!

Too bad it got canceled due to airing on saturday mornings and an inability to have a successful toy-line.

Also judging by my newest and hopefully last avatar you can tell I am a fan of Wander Over Yonder.

Sure It's new and everything but I hope it becomes more popular like Craig and Lauren's other works have.

Also I have say that Gravity Falls is really amazing and one of the best cartoons on the air right now.

It's fun creative has great characters and is funny as well as has a great premise with great plots and mysteries.

Ultimate Muscle was very under-rated.  It wasn't perfect but it was a great show...  Sadly the show was cancelled and they didn't release all of the episodes onto dvd because it wasn't making enough money to justify being released...  After a while, the manga stopped being translated as well because the authors, Yudetamago, did not want the manga to be released outside of japan anymore(at least that's what I heard about it :)...

Gargoyles was also another under-rated show.  A wonderful show, if a little on the dark side.  Love that show

Big O - A Noir-style mecha anime with a Batman-esque hero. 'nuff said

Catscratch - People already said what needed to be

Dan Vs - Same as Catscratch

Megas XLR - Because it's me

Daria - It probably is popular but it doesn't get the same love it's sisters Beavis & Butthead and King of the Hill get

Motorcity - Pretty much what you expect from the creators of Megas

Downtown - c'mon it had the Undertaker fighting Sailor Moon cosplayers

Arthur: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_(TV_series)

During it's Golden Age, it was as good as, if not better than MLP (it's pretty mediocre nowadays). It gained a small cult following among adults, but nowhere near the size of the Bronyhood. It's a real shame too, as it really deserves a bigger fanbase

I wouldn't say Arthur is mediocre today. In fact, I say it's still very strong. They've adapted well to today's world and the lessons they teach kids are still second to none. They still have that magic they had long ago.

As for me, Country Mouse and City Mouse was a great show. I appreciated world cultures and geography because of them!

The reason as to why I called it mediocre is that, despite it still being pretty good after the decline in quality, in the latest season they stopped using whatever digital ink program they were using and switched to Flash

In fact, there's a petition going on trying to get it to change the animation

Definitely Invader Zim, one of my favorite shows during that time. That show was hilarious and unique. It ended way too soon. I think it would have been more successful if it were aired on Adult Swim, since it did seem to be more suitable for adolescents and young adults.

Actually, it's just on hiatus. Curtis Armstrong, voice of Dan confirmed on his Facebook

I might get burnt at the Stake for saying this but....

The Aquabats Super Show

It's just so stupid and fun, that I can't help but love it. I'm pretty sure most people who watch FiM on the Hub have seen commercials for it or something, I encourage people to check it out when they have nothing else to watch to kill some time.

Just an update because I thought of another underrated show.

Chowder- I can see why some people don't like this show, there are quite a bit of fart jokes and stupid humor. But other than that, I find this show to be really creative especially when breaking the 4th wall. Like in one episode they ran out of money.

for example- "Oh no, no money means no animation!" *shows voice actors who have to do a car wash  to get more money.*

I agree that Dan VS and  The Amazing World of Gumball are underrated. I like both of them and while I can find some people who like it, I don't find much fanart from the series.

Shezow and Littlest Pet Shop are also really good cartoons but I've noticed much controversy behind them. Which I find to be absolutely ridiculous. [in my opinion.]

Chowder. That show was one of the best CN shows and it was really creative. Also, I sorta liked Gumball, and Amethyst, but that was only a cartoon short.

Does live action shows count? Because I think the show Once Upon A Time is a good show too.
