Favorite Pokemon Starter

I don't want to sound cliche, so I'm going to list my favourite from each generation.

You can consider all these as number 1 if you want to think of it that way.

 

Gen 1: Charmander

Gen 2: Cyndaquil

Gen 3: Treecko

Gen 4: Piplup

Gen 5: Oshawott

Gen 6: Fennekin

 

Oshawott was originally the one gen 5 starter I disliked the most. After reading a webcomic and seeing peoples' reactions, I started to feel sorry for the poor thing. I picked it as my starter out of pity and it grew on me over time.

Out of all the starters there are none that made me more ridiculously happy as a child than Pikachu in Pokemon Yellow.

But the fact that your rival got a frickin' Eevee? (My favorite Pokemon) It really leaves me with a burning rage mixed emotions.

Being a big Pokemon fan that I am I have played through each game with each starter at least once..... except Pokemon Black and white and x and y ( since they just came out.) And out of all of them I would have to go with my old friends Charmander.

Well, before X and Y, this would have been a very difficult decision for me...  I like too many of the starters, and each gen had something I loved and something I couldn't care less about for each of them.  

 

However, with X and Y, my answer is a lot easier now...  Fennekin! 

 

I can't help it, I'm a slave to the Fennekin cuteness.  I love Braixen as well, and while I'm not a huge fan of Delphox's design (I love the first two so much it just seems a little -meh-), I still love all three of them.  Plus, Fire and Psychic.  There's a plus.  Though if there was a way to keep an unevolved Fennekin and still have it be competetive?  I would do so in a heartbeat.

Keep in mind, I've never played gen 3, so that's probably skewed my results a bit.

 

The bolded ones are my favorite from each gen.

 

Typically, I choose the water starter because water is my favorite type. The only times I've chosen anything else were playing through subsequent times of R/B/Y where I chose Charmander just for a change of pace (and so I could get another of my favorites, Vaporeon, without having two water types in my party,) in B/W, I chose Tepig because she had Oshawott and I wanted to trade with her (until she decided to be a bitch and not trade with me --;; ) and in gen 6, I chose Fennekin, just cuz I liked his design better than Froakie (though I regretted this a bit, because Torchic was a freebie...) Yes, I realize that sentence was humongous.

 

Grass is my least favorite type. It's weak against everything. I never choose it. But some of them are cute or I have fond memories of (like Chickorita crushing on Ash) so they made it higher on the list.

 

My favorite Pokémon is Blastoise, so I'll always choose Squirtle <3

My favourite starter? Caterpie roasted in thai spices. Yum--

 

--Wait, in all seriousness, my favourite starter is Cyndaquil.

 

It starts off cute, but evolves into Quilava and finally perhaps my favourite Pokemon of all: Typhlosion. Just listen to this goddamn flaming chunk of badassery:

Bulbasaur, for sure. I know he makes the Pewter City and Cerulean City gym battles too easy, but there are a wide method of ways to use Bulbasaur. With Charmander and Squirtle, the strategy is more limited.

 

Plus, Leech Seed is just plain fun to use.

No, first it starts out so small and innocent-looking, but then Marshtomp and Swampert are really good fighters; I beat Wallace with just Swampert alone yesterday, for example. Also, the dual-type cancels out Water's weakness to electricity.

My overall favorite starter has to be Treecko, with Cyndaquil being a close second.

Well, my favorite would be Piplup.

 

 

I love water types, and Piplup has a color scheme made up of some of my favorite colors (e.g. blue, yellow, and white). Anywho, that's not the only reason. Piplup was my first ever starter, so there's that, and he (well, Empoleon) is the only Pokemon I've ever got to Level 100 myself (currently, but I'm getting pretty close to Level 100 with a few of my X and Y Pokemon).

 

Piplup also has a great design (in my opinion), and is really good in battle. So, yeah, Piplup's my favorite.

Oh my. It's so hard. My number one most favorite starter of all time would be, Tepig. Nobody say anything. Not that he's bacon, not that oh he sucks cause he evolves into ugly, NOT ONE WORD! Black version was my very first pokemon game and I chose tepig for a very good reason. He smiled at me. In the very beginning he smiled, oshawott gave me the sad face and snivy's like, you aren't good enough. But TEPIG SMILED!   I just loved it. I thought emboar was the best thing ever! Yeah, he wasn't the best looking thing in the universe, but he was cool and strong! We made it together. Of course I eventually played the younger games but tepig is my number one and always will be. My number two is fennekin. I just love that little guy too much. Of course I normally stick with fire types, but when it comes to red and blue version starters, I have to say Squirtle. (Oh man, I've always wanted to say that about tepig!)
