Maybe hasbro wants to find out just how much MLP is broney.

 

So it remade a pony series that little kids would only watch.

The animation isn't half bad, but this looks rather lame. This also seems like a knockoff, and an attempt to cash in on the pony craze. I personally didn't like what I saw in the trailer. It looked rather...average. (For a kid's show anyways.)

   This is Filly, a European knock-off of My Little Pony, just like the Go-bots and the Transformers or M.A.S.K. and G.I. Joe, it's going to happen whenever there is something successful there typically is a rip-off version, just watch Brazil's Video Brinquedo or Mystery Science Theater 3000, where they riffed cheap rip-offs, such as: Cave Dwellers, Pod People, Operation Double 007, Escape 2000, Secret Agent Super Dragon and Agent for H.A.R.M. just to name a few. I have no idea what G5 will look like, but I do believe it will not look like this, however even if it did, the talented bronies on the internet could produce fan videos, ultimately it's the fans who decide what G5 will look like, and Hasbro knows this, just like the cast and crew of Friendship is Magic have said in Bronycon, so to answer the question how would I feel if G5 looked like this? I would just ignore it, and then start mocking it just like MST3K, furthermore I am learning how to animate the ponies, so that one day I can create my own G4 ponies fan video, and with the help of the bronies we can contribute and keep G4 alive.

This seems so condescending, like so many kids shows and the previous MLP generations, its more insulting than having Dora trying to talk down to me with her fake Spanish accent. 

 

Its only several notches above the absurdity and stupidity of shows like Doodlebops and a Teletubbies. Also its very hard to pull off using this type of 3D. Mario 64 and Starfox 64 stand out b/c they were some of the few games that successfully utilized 3D and still remain popular.

I think this sums up my reaction to it. It makes you wonder why people make knock off versions of these shows in the first place. Alot of wasted effeort instead of just showing the actual show.

At first, I was a little scared to watch it and decided to see everyone else's reaction first.

 

One viewing later...

 

Well, the animation isn't too bad... but the characters and their detail look ugly. But then again, this does seemingly look, as many would say, "G3 quality". I dunno, I only remember being a little involved with G3 or G3.5.

 

Also, it kind of made me wonder if Hasbro is even planning to make a G5 of MLP, and maybe keep G4 alive as long as they possibly can. G4 is the biggest amount of success MLP has ever gotten, so is it even going to be a good idea to make a G5 if they plan to keep the show at its current level of quality without the risk of making it worse?

I have to say, Hasbro, you've really stepped up your game since Equestria Girls.

 

Such crisp, fluid animation. Such brilliant, thematic plotlines. The way they manage to cross Shakespeare's MacBeth with Breaking Bad and use it as a commentary on the Syrian war left me awestruck.

 

The characters felt so real, and their tragic plights more relatable than any live human being I have ever met. When Thunderlane gave his life to save Pinkie Pie, I cried for hours on end.

 

Brilliant show, Hasbro. It looks like I have a new favorite gen. I eagerly await the next episode, wherein Rainbow Dash contemplates the futility of heroism and descends into madness a'la Apocalypse Now.
