Anypony on here afraid of thunderstorms?

Personally, where I live, we rarely get thunderstorms. But when they do come, they come loud, and I get restless and very anxious. I'm also unable to go to sleep, let alone relax (which sucks so much ass that I don't care much to describe the level) and even after the storm ends, I can't calm down for fear it'll suddenly start again.

Lately, there's been no trace of storms, save for forecasts on my Windows 8 weather app. And when I do see them forecasted, I get tense, because forecasts of thunderstorms are never good signs. Tonight, in fact, as I type there was a storm forecasted to rage over the hour and the next one, thankfully there was only a shower, which has since calmed down.

Anyway, enough from me. What about you guys?

(Oh yeah, for the record, I guess you can say that I am afraid of lightning, but not to the level where I shit my pants. I just get restless, and I tremble like a bucking massage chair. So yeah, not afraid, but still uneasy during storms)

If it was just a thunderstorm, I don't mind them as much as I used to. BUT if there was a twister on the ground, you better bet i'm going to pack my bags and get out of there.

If you don't get very many, I can see how it would make you nervous. Personally I like to go outside and feel the rain and watch the sky, especially if the lightning is clear bolts at night, not dim flashes behind cloud. Hearing loud noises out of nowhere (like thunder) freaks me out. I fear them in the sense that they aren't my cue to run out onto a field wearing nothing but a metal hat, but otherwise, lightning storms are fun to watch.

By Thor, no! I love storms! One of the best moments of my life was when I was standing over this glen (which was v shaped) and I heard thunder. The glen seemed to increase the noise and it felt like the hammer of the Gods!

By contrast, I hate cloudless sunny days and cover my skin passionately.

Storms are wonderful!

Where I grew up, the danger from big thunderstorms was mostly relegated to the power going out, and maybe some flooding. So, when one came, it was generally an event you could enjoy as long as you were safe someplace.

I used to and still love them because they can be an awesome display of nature's power, and it's nice to take a backseat for 30 min - 1 hour or so and not have to be the toughest one on the planet.

It's the exact opposite for me. I adore thunderstorms, rain, and all the usual cold weather. The only time I get nervous from it is if there's the possibility of losing power or the possibility of a tornado.

I just find thunderstorms quite relaxing...as long as there's no serious threat, I mean.

It can make some of my friends nervous, but I'm pretty good at calming others down, so there's no real problem.

Well when I'm in a car during a thunderstorm, they could get really terrifying bu when I'm in my house, they can be very soothing.

My fear of thunderstorms depends on how strong they are. If it's just like average like there is lightning and thunder just don't go outside, that's okay, but if it's all that plus strong wind, that's when I get freaked out because I am terrified of tornadoes.

Normal thunderstorms, no... Severe thunderstorms, very yes.

My fear is mostly a result of how loud a system is and it just so happens that severe storms have lots of thunder and lightning that come with them. If I wake up in the middle of the night and thunder is rolling through, I can't fall asleep again until the wind, thunder and rain calms down.

No, actually it's the opposite x3

Well... It depends on how strong they are... But usually I think it's rather cozy x3

I usually stay on our porch with blankets in a hammock thingy :3

Personally, I'm not afraid of thunderstorms as long as I'm inside safe shelter. Instead, I find them very awe inspiring. The sudden flicks of light that emanate from the lightning and the loud booms that follow gives me a lot of goosebumps. If the storm was accompanied by tornado warnings and the like however, then I would be scared for my life and my personal belongings.

My perspective on thunderstorms is a little different than most peoples.  While I'm working, they pose one of the most significant threats around.  Lethal, if we're not careful.  Because of this, I've studied them a fair amount.  To me, they're not all that mysterious or majestic...just another force of nature.

When I'm not working, they're just another part of the local weather patterns (and they tend to interfere with my DirecTV signal ph34r.png )

I'm not afraid of thunderstorms. In fact, they annoy me more than anything else. When it is raining, I feel a sense of calmness. I'm in a very relaxed state of mind. When I hear thunder, I groan in frustration. It's the noise that gets to me. It interrupts my state of zen.

I was terrified of them at one point, probably due to some very dramatic moments from tornadic weather. Now, that is what scares me, tornadic storms. Regular thunderstorms, I actually like, unless the wind or lightening is really brutal. I just love the feeling that it gives me when I am I side, this kind of feeling of safety. I am weird like that. :P Makes me appreciate storms like that more.

Where I live there are almost never thunders, so no thunderstorms here. But in other countries I have visited I have experienced thunderstorms and it was actually just fun I wasn't scared of it, I was amazed.

I love thunderstorms, but I used to be afraid of them when I was a kid.  Back then whenever there was a storm, I would usually turn up the volume on my TV so I wouldn't hear the thunder.  Now whenever it storms, I just want to get out there and drive in it.  I love the sound of thunder because it lets me know that spring and summer are here.

Heck no, I love 'em. I don't know why, but there's something about the sound of that familiar low rumbling in the distance that I find oddly soothing.

...Of course, when the storm's so close that the thunder's deafeningly loud, it loses its charm pretty quickly. But we rarely get thunderstorms in my area, let alone ones that pass close enough to be uncomfortably loud.

They used to bother me a lot more than they do nowadays. I love rainy days, and I don't mind the occasional thunder. However severe/heavy storms bother me. Hail is annoying and loud. Constant lightning/loud thunder just freaks me out. Super loud rain is a little unsettling for me also. I basically just feel uneasy when a severe storm is occurring. Don't even get me started on when there is a tornado watch on where I live, that just makes me feel sick. Tornadoes are scary as hell, to me anyways.

I like thunder, because it's relaxing, but I'm scared to death of lightning. I'm just afraid that it'll hit me and fry me to a crisp.

I was once afraid of thunderstorms, actually recently. So went with fireworks and any other loud explosion-like sounds. I got over them because I found out that they were just sounds.

I rather like thunderstorms. I Like the sound of them and watching them, and watching the light show. If it's a warm rain, I like t o go outside in it. I've always been a fan of thunderstorms....they can be rather epic,...they shake our house sometimes.

(When I'm inside a roofed structure) I really like thunderstorms and rain showers in general. ^_^

For me, they make the surrounding area feel less empty.

This is probably because rains give sound, while clear skies give empty silence. Idk...maybe that's just me.
