So, last summer I found this in my garden. wub.png  She's so awesome. I love the pattern and colours.

Anypony else out there like bugs and creepy crawlies? e9FkmL5.png  I find them fascinating to look at, and they give me ideas for drawing stuff.

I sort of stand in the middle when it comes to bugs. I'd have a greater appreciation for spiders, but I lived in a farm house for a year that was pretty much infested with L.reclusa a.k.a. the brown recluse or fiddleback. I actually woke up one morning with one in bed with me. It was after that I pretty much went arachnophobic.

I like what insects do for our ecosystem. As much as I don't like the feeling of things crawling on me, they are vital for keeping certain things in balance. Except gnats. After the last couple weeks, I've learned how harmless yet annoying gnats are in your home. We're looking for all sorts of ways to keep them at bay.

As for that mantis...I freaking love praying mantises. :D They're just all around badass. When I see a mantis catch something, I just picture Keanu Reeves in The Matrix dodging bullets. It's pretty much the same level of badassery.

They both look so cute. wub.png

There is a spider living outside of my window. It's a tiny little critter, but it seems to be doing well. I like arachnids and insects. They are such fascinating creatures. :)

Those little things are so cute. Nobody seems to get it though. They're cute and lovable, and make great pets if you don't lose track of where they are.

I have this bush in my front yard. It's literally infested with Praying Mantises. It's awesome, because they change colors during the different seasons.

They're about to die for the winter, but right now, they're brown.

But I don't enjoy being jacked by yellow jackets.

OMG THAT SPIDER IS SOO CUTE! wub.png
I just LOVE spiders. And from what I understand, they love me. This is how I get my reasoning on how they love me:
I used to live in NC, USA... Outside of my house were these bricks (I had a small wall forming). One day when I was continuing the wall, and Black Widow had somehow appeared on my hand... It freaked me out, but I just let it sit there. I continued building the wall, with the cute little spider on my hand.. Although when I was about to go back inside I looked at my hand again and noticed there were 4 of them... Now THAT freaked me out... But they weren't biting me, so I let them stay. I can tell you they made great pets tongue.png Only problem was one time they got into my house and bit my dog KUbAnTY.png I didn't really like that dog anyway.. Wasn't mine and it always bit me whenever I got close, and most dogs love me... I guess the spiders knew that and took care of the threat for me lol idk

I love those little guys! They're so cute wub.png I used to be super-afraid of them when I was young, but they grew on me, and now I love them :D

I would say they are cute, but something similar, like really interesting, or fascinating, or something.

But I really do wub them. wub.png

I love insects and animals of all sizes - and if someone tries to harm a little insect, I'll always defend it and stop them. A bit like Fluttershy in that sense.

I think a lot of insects are cool. I really hate ants, flies, and yellow jackets, however.

The spiders around my house are these brown spiders with stripes, water spiders or garden spiders I think. I like them. I also really like daddy-long-legs. I don't like black widows.

Mosquito hawks (crane flies) are another bug I really like, as they kill mosquitos, another bug I really hate.

I hate parasites like ticks and chiggers.

I like slugs and snails. One time, my grandparents were salting slugs to get them off of their garbage bags, and I didn't like it so I volunteered to just pull them off.

Worms are cool. I get a little sad when I see them dried up on sidewalks.

Ladybugs and other beetles are awesome, and so are centipedes, millipedes, grasshoppers, crickets, dragonflies, moths, butterflies, and praying mantises.

From the coin it looks like you're in Canada. Isn't it getting a little cold for bugs up there?

You're right, I'm in Southwestern Ontario. But it's only just getting cold out here. The spider is big, cause she's about ready to lay her eggs, it's the time of year. They aren't always this big. This one in particular is known as a golden orb weaver. There are a few different types of them around, but this is the most common where I live.

Most spiders won't bite unless you provoke them by attempting to crush or swat them. Except for maybe in Australia, I'd be more wary of them there, cause those ones will kill you. XD

I've also been bitten by a centipede once, real nasty little buggers, but they're the same, I stepped on it, so it defended it's self the only way it knew how.

Lucky you, we don't get golden orb weavers in the more northern parts so much. If we do I never see them, and this makes me sad.

I love spiders, they're one of my favourite animals (except dock spiders because they are everywhere at my cottage and cute as they are they're a pain in the butt). I probably shouldn't like them so much as I'm pretty anti-murder of anything (except people lel), but whatever, they're so sweet.

I have a few spiders that pretty much live in my room; if I find (already dead) flies and stuff I leave them out for them. They're mah buddies. <3 There are three of them, two guys and one girl (I named them Wesley, Hannah, and Derese. XD)

Praying mantises are really gross though, too violent for me. XD

EDIT: Snails OP, though, I love those little guys. When it rains on my way to school I conduct "snail rescue" and pick them up off the sidewalks so people don't step on them. If it's on my way home, I put them in my garden.

I don't usually get bitten by bugs since I usually just let them crawl on me. Sometimes they'll just sit on my arm when I'm doing homework.

@

>I don't like it

>it should totally die that's cool lel

I wish black widows here so I could unleash them upon the world with that in mind. It's a good excuse. >biggrin.png

I love dock spiders, they're actually pretty aggressive though. One pulled a twig out of my dad's hand one time when he tried to poke at it. laugh.png

Praying mantises though, they're neat because they're the only bug that can swivel it's head. Some martial arts are based on it's movement as well.

About the only bugs I don't like near me are parasitic ones, they're gross. Essential parts of nature, but not on me, thanks. tongue.png

Yeah, one freaked out my dog once so I had to pick him up and move him (took forever to catch it) to another families dock. Their problem now. c:<

The other ones are cool, though, they usually don't bother us.

I guess that's neat but they like, rip each others heads off after they procreate. I'm good, thanks. XD

They aren't the only ones. Many spiders do the same thing as well. Some species of reptile will eat their own young sometimes, usually it's the male that does that. Nature's got some weird quirks all over.

I for sure won't touch those kind of spiders, but I LOVE small spiders and hairy spiders like Tarantulas and the Wolf Spiders that you can find around here in North Carolina. I would love to own a tarantula someday, I find them really adorable! laugh.png
