What is your opinion on the MLP toys?

This toy just doesn't look like Rainbow Dash to me. Does anybody else find it weird that McDonalds did a better job of making the toys than Hasbro? There's just....so much wrong here.

It's McDonalds! They're just trying to pump cholesterol-filled meals into the expanding asses of children around the world. And besides, why would you even go there?

Merged your thread with this one since it's basically the same topic. We also have a McDonalds Toys discussion thread here, if you want to talk about those.

I think we should rain fire down upon those baby pony toys. They look like Ostrich eggs with eyes.

YESSSSS!!! Please kill them!!!!

We should give them to those teen bully jerk dragons in "Dragon Quest" .....

"They're toys for little girls, they aren't supposed to be accurate."

Screw that. Little girls also watch the show and also want their toys to look like the characters. My little sisters complain all the time about the toys, and I've seen other girls discussing what's wrong with them. That is a poor excuse. In fact, it's insulting to the girls--because they're little and girls, they like pink and long hair and woodland critters. Think again, Hasbro. They aren't that damn stupid.

Pardon my language but jeez. If we keep underestimating our children, we're in trouble.

The toys would be so much better if they actually watched the show for at least 5 minutes it's almost like they changed them on purpose but you know, they don't care.

Um, it seems you didn't really read Miles101's reply that you quoted ...

The point there is that Hasbro think that little girls don't care about if the toys looks alike or not ... but according to Miles, Hasbro is wrong!

Even Little girls care about how the toys look, and wonder why the ponies doesn't look like in the show!

i dont mind that the Toys arnt exactly show accuate. The Price point of em and the cuteness is whats got me into collecting em. might just be me but they seem to be getting a little bit better with each new version that gets released in the waves. The Current Rainbow Dash (for example)with the suitcase is a marked improvement mane wise over the original and a lot easier to style into something resembling her show appearance. although the Cutie mark is still a bit of an issue

I.ll gladly buy the toys when i see em. But not the Pink Celestia. That shelfwarmer is everywhere. the white one im gonna wait for

I just went to a retail store today (exclusively in Canada) and decided to look through the aisle where they sold toys for girls.

I found some MLP toys. Rarity with the wings from "Sonic Rainboom" and Fluttershy with a basket and a brush for her hair.

Apparently, Hasbro wants us to fix their manes by ourselves, since in the case, their manes aren't their regular shape... however, the descriptions threw me off. There wasn't anything about Rarity being a dressmaker or whatever. It just said she loved to fly... huh? And in Fluttershy's case, there is no mention of her being good with animals. Instead it just says, "Fluttershy loves gardening", possibly implying gardening is her special talent, not tending for animals.

I'll also bring up the fact that the Fluttershy doll came with a BASKET and FLOWERS instead of an animal, say, Angel Bunny.

Next thing I looked at was the Celestia figure that was PINK and not white. And guess what, behind the box it came with, you can clearly see that Celestia is WHITE.

My god Hasbro, what were you thinking? These weren't done very well, overall. I like the idea of fixing their manes but that's about it. Bad information really hurts their sales because the brony community is growing exponentially.

Whoever is in charge of merchandising obviously has no clue what goes on in the show.

Pink Celestia drives me crazy because I'm female, and I never liked pink not even as a little girl. Sigh. I mean, Mattel already does "pink" to excess, so I wish Hasbro wouldn't. Girls do buy toys that aren't pink.

I do like the G4 toys, though (except for the baby ponies ... not my thing). Although I'm like a lot of other people here in that I would LOVE to re-hair Rainbow Dash's mane to make it more show-accurate. LOL! I'm already planning to do this sometime in the next couple of months.
