My last name is actually a place in Spain. Well not really a place, but I do not wish to go into detail as it would reveal my last name... but as for my for first name... there are many towns with my first name, including one in Florida, Mississippi, and Sweden!

May I be an annoying grammar Nazi real quick? do you mean the thread title "anything you were named after"?

 

Because I was named after a book character like I mentioned in my post: but as far as I know there ain't a place or person or anything named Asher or any of my other names because of my name being that... so I don't know anything named after ME but I know someone I was named after which isn't the same thing as the thread title asks

I feel the need to nitpick further. The title should inquire as to whether or not people are aware of places or other individuals bearing the same name as them. There are people and places that bear the same name as me, but not only were they not named for me, but I was not named for them.

 

In order to stay at least partly on topic (without revealing my legal name) I will say that I am highly annoyed when people point out who I was named for. There is also a place here in Canada which has a name that is a slightly different spelling of my last name.
