Season 4 is too overrated?

Nigthmare Moon did nothing.

Discord is just an idiotic jerk who got defeated the most pathetic way possible. TWICE.

Chrysalis is a stupid queen that got defeated by LOVE.

and Sombra was just there.

 

In S4, however, we get Tirek, who is MUCH more original and less generic and clichéd  than the others. A reimagining of the G1 villain, this new version gets to be the most threatening and powerful, not to mention evil. So yeah, this makes it for me.

 

Well, of course, that is not the only reason S4 isn't overrated.

 

-It had more mature and dark episodes.

-More entertaining and imaginative adventures.

-We get Discord in an episode. Not my thing, I'm annoyed by him, but he has his fans.

-A very smart idea to prove how their friendship is united, that is later shown in the finale.

-Best finale so far.

-Best villain so far.

-Some of the best songs so far.

 

I can't really remember much of it, but these are at least points that make sense. Is there a reason to rage for Derpy? We had two good shots of her in the finale, shouldn't y'all be happy?

Actually a bit of an appropriate time to bring it back. I kind of agree with the topic. It's definitely not a bad season by any means, and there were still a lot of great things about it, but if you want it me to be honest, S4 is my least favorite season I don't think it's even close to being the best season by any means

After careful consideration I actually believe season 4 was better structurally than the others. Many of my favorite individual episodes are in season one and two, but looking at the season as a single entity

• plenty of new interesting characters
• continuity
• season long story arc
• almost equal amount of the episodes for every main character
• powerful villain with an actual backstory
• come back of characters from previous seasons (including fan favorites)
• great and varied songs
• new places
• etc.

Let's see what this season did good.

 

A new epic story arc

A bunch of new creative ideas

Improved animation
IMO, the best villain on the show and best season finale

An all in all, a nice go at broadening it's audience

 

And now let's see what it did bad

Only 2 episodes I find bad (Rainbow Fails Falls and Somepony to Watch over me)

Only 4 mehs (Simple Ways, Breezies, Trade Ya and Leap of Faith)

Some minor characterization issues with Pinkie that they fixed after Filli Vanilli

 

 

So yeah, the good outweighs the bad. Season overrated? Yeah right.

But seriously Season 4 wasn't overrated. The villain Tirek was awesome and the episodes that were specific to each of the Mane 6 such as Rarity Takes Manehattan, Pinkie Pride, and Rainbow Falls were some of my favorite episodes of the show. Season 4 is my absolute favorite. And I thought Daring Don't, Power Ponies, and A Three's a Crowd were some of the most interesting episodes I've seen. Both two parters were great, Twilight's Kingdom being my favorite. It's definitely 2 steps ahead of Season 3 for not only being twice as long but also the Season with the most variety. Season 4 was the best Season so far and I actually started watching during Season 4.

Oh of course it is overrated. Everything is overrated by someone. I personally feel Season One is the overrated season, other people say Season Four is, some people say religion is overrated some people say Mario is overrated everyone is going to feel something is overrated. At the end of the day you will like what you like, no reason to go complaining about the things you don't like. I don't like people who keep making these threads about so-and-so or such-and-such being overrated, since there will always be zealots & there will always be people who don't like something.

 

Season 1 introduced us to Equestria, & built up an amazing world with gorgeous visuals & creations.

Season 2 introduced some of the best episodes of the series (in my opinion) with my favorite of all of that Season being Hurricane FlutterShy, what I personally consider to be the best episode of the series.

Season 3 was what I like to call the "love it or hate it" Season, since it had Twilicorn. Personally I like Twilicorn, so I like Season 3 for creating her. It also has some really heartfelt episodes with Too Many Pinkie Pies, Sleepless In Ponyville, and Wonderbolts Academy, so personally I feel that as far as heart strings go S3 pulled the most for me.

Season 4 showed us that the creators can do some pretty good action without straying away from what makes MLP: FiM itself.

 

Whether you agree with what I said is up too you, these are my personal opinions & I won't try & change your opinions on it. But at the end of the day you'll like what you'll like. Looking at just S3 you may think Twilicorn was dumb or maybe you think another Season had more heartfelt moments. Well ok then, fine. I liked them. Season 4 has its good & bad, & we will most likely see the same in the future. Fingers crossed on the good outweighing the bad, right?
