Much like the designs of the ponies themselves, it's hardly a fetish. But I do absolutely adore anthropomorphized ponies. At least when done right. To be entirely honest, I do admittedly have a "thing" for eared/tailed human beings, which is easily my favorite form of the ponies. It isn't a fetish, though. It's kinda hard to explain.

 

Also, at the risk of sounding shallow, in anthro-ifying the ponies, if you're going to get me to like the art, it has to be cute. It just has to be.

 

But again, not a fetish.

I'm not really into anthropomorphic ponies, since their designs might look completely different to their regular pony counterparts it's just that they don't appeal to me. Not really a fetish.

I love the art. I don't really look at it from a fetishist stand point and prefer adorable ponies to risqué even in their more human forms. Probably one of the reasons I was so hyped for EQG. I love both anthro and human art of the show. It's interesting to see all the different interpretations as well, be they an elegant fem fatale Rarity to adorkable Twi they can just be awesome to look at from time to time. I can see where the fetish lies but eh. Not for me.

Some of the fully humanized stuff can be pretty good, but anthro just freaks me out. No matter how well done it is, it just doesn't sit right to see a foreign hybrid of two familiar concepts. The main down side to humanized ponies is how sexual the content tends to be. It has it's time and place, but it seems over done.

my opinion on it is, and not to sound like a pervert i think ponies themselves are very attractive and good looking but making them human for females breasts make them look more attractive and for males the muscles would make them look a little more attractive 

 

Well, I like the art style and have actually drawn my own Oc in an anthro style.

I dont mind it much really I think its kind of cool and unique.

I may be a furry, but I pretty much feel the same about... well, 80% of anthro things. They just aren't designed correctly. The key to making an anthro appeal to me is to make it look like its own creature, having a good mix of human/animal thrown in there, but having enough of its own unique spark to look like it could be a thing that exists rather than two things mashed together. If that makes sense. Most people who draw furries don't really go for that angle. That's why I prefer things like Pokemon, where some of the creatures are distinguishably anthroesque, but have skewed proportions that make them look not so much like a genetic freak.

 

Anyway, I don't like anthro ponies due to this reason. Most of them are badly designed in my opinion. I prefer ponies as they look in the show because they already look pretty damn anthropomorphic. Their faces are basically human anyways, just with VERY simplified equine anatomy. But at the same time, they look distinguishable enough not to be some kind of genetic lab freak. It's the perfect appearance just as they are. That and their ridiculous tube hooves don't look good on two legs. XD

 

As for humanized, I don't mind it. But I also think most of the time it isn't really properly executed as people tend to make most of them these skinny generically pretty girls with big breasts for sex appeal, and it just doesn't work for me. (I prefer the Equestria Girls style for them, even if they ARE too skinny. At least their breasts aren't emphasized and it still looks like MLP style) I've seen some that are really good though, and use proper female proportions. It just depends on the artist.

What about slugbox?

 

I mean he does pokemon anthro that is well... a little over done with its sex appeal but, the ones that aren't overly sex'd up seem to look okay if you'd ask me.

Meh, not anything against them directly, but i don't really like anthro much.

 

I find their show art forms as ponies the way they're depicted in the show and in drawings just so much more adorable. Seriously, some of the drawings look so freaking adorable.

 

I'll be honest most of the anthro stuff looks a bit odd to me personally, not all, but alot.

 

It just looks unnatural, idk why.

 

Nothing wrong with liking it though. just not my thing personally.

But I'm not exactly "excited about them, if you catch my drift. The art they bring is kinda cool, and I will say I have been... attracted to one... or two in my browsing.

As for my opinion on Slugbox, I think his art is grotesque and overly shiny. It mostly looks grotesque because of the shading techniques he employs. It makes everyone look like they're covered in this absolutely nasty liquid because of how shiny they appear. It pretty much just looks like hentai to me, even when he's not trying to oversexualize things.

 

But I'm picky. You toss an artist my way and it's likely I won't like them. XD

Few fannon art communities come even close to ours in size and we have such dedicated, prolific, and amazing artiists in our community.  If some people don't like that I'm sorry but that's part of what makes us such a strong community and helps feed the fannon. If it was gone we'd suddenly be a whole lot smaller, weaker community. Be thankful for what you got.
