What were the best music concerts you've ever been to?

Well, I'm ashamed to say that I've only been to one REAL concert in my life so far (Alice Cooper), but it was AWESOME! 

 

It was like a combination of an audio and a visual experience.

 

The music was good, there were costumes and giant spiders legs, he was in a straight jacket...my mind was blown at how epic my first concert was (totally worth the three and a half hour wait while listening to Tesla in the sweltering summer sun). 

I admit, I'm jealous. I'd love to see Alice Cooper.

I've gone to a LOT of concerts, and so many of them were incredible, but I have four that were just so special to me. I saw Sing It Loud (now broken up) numerous times, Korn, Tegan and Sara and Slipknot. Those are my four favorites. They were all special for different reasons. As for surprises, not really, but during the Slipknot set, Corey Taylor had everyone sing Duality together in honor of Paul Gray and I don't think there was a dry eye in the whole arena; it was beautiful. Korn always makes me really happy when I see them because I love Jonathan Davis like a lot. Tegan and Sara were everything I was hoping for and more, and I met a lot of cool people there as well. And Sing It Loud were always really sweet guys and just awesome to hang out with after the shows, so every show I went to for them was special and memorable.

Ah, that sounds freaking amazing for that Slipknot show. I kinda understand that not having a dry eye during a few songs. With Sigur Ros, I started to cry on a few songs since they showed the music videos behind them.

I've only recently started going to concerts over the past 6 months or so so I don't have a whole lot to choose from.

 

But my favourite so far would probably when I went to see Basement Jaxx earlier this month. The crowd was great and the light show was amazing. Plus they played a great set and the general vibe was ecstatic.

Sadly n, but don't let that bother you. Just do some snooping around, see local bands, just have fun with it. I mean, I've seen one local band over 12 times, and I still love to see them.

To be fair I've really only been to one concern that would count as a concert. I mean i've gone to a TX rodeo and they had famous singers there like Lynn Ryhmes, but I would have to say the best concernt I've been to was the Transiberian Orchestra!

Haha, I like the way you think. I'm just sad I couldn't get her branching out to more music, particularly ska since that's kinda my true love when it comes to music (next to post-rock, but that's another story).

i can understand.... she used to listen to jonas brother and justin bieber!!! (4 years ago) then i gifted her 20 cd of metal bands... she started with cannibal corpse, then children of bodom, pantera, (here she learnt to play the bass) metallica,black sabbath, iron maiden,  ac dc , going to sweeter stuff.. i am trying to "convert" her to blues but metal is still better than those shit or dubstep XD... she like Dire straits, beatles, stones, doors stuff like that.. be she is more... Pinkie Pie? XD

i don't like ska very much but here in Italy ther are some really BADASS ska bands i is just sad that they are not famous here,, actually they are more known in Germany than here! So sad... dubstep.. bah... who need that? What is more beautifull to dance some acrobatic rock with a blues brothers cover band???

I know, right? I mean, just look at this band here that plays Disneyland quite a lot (and tours around the world, but known for doing shows there because of their Disney covers. And don't let the sound quality bug you, the microphone does not do them justice.

There's two I really liked but can't choose just one.  Red and Thousand Foot Krutch.  Both were incredible.  TFK was later at night and had...  FIRE!  Yes, fire.  It was AWESOME!

Aside from countless band and orchestra concerts, which yes, I do count, I've only seen Streetlight Manifesto and Chicago.

 

I enjoyed them both. Although I didn't appreciate Streetlight Manifesto quite as much as I do today, I still did love them back then.

 

I find it nice... Chicago my favorite old band, while Streetlight Manifesto my favorite modern band.

 

I didn't know what I'd get out of a modern Chicago show. The band has a very long discography and has went wayyyy away from their early progressive sound that I love. However, it seems that they knew what everybody was coming to their concert wanted, and the vast majority of their music was their 60s/70s hits. They played more of that than even their 80s hits, which made me very happy.

 

So I have to say both of them were the best.

I went to a show a few months ago for The Legendary Pink Dots (my favorite band in the world). The show was just fantastic. I got there early enough that I was front and center of the stage. It was phenomenal.

 

And to top it off I got my picture taken with Edward Ka-Spel after the show.

 

Remember in Daring Don't when Rainbow was getting all gushy and fangirly with Daring? That was me when I met Ka-Spel.

-Avenged Sevenfold (Along with Black Veil Brides, Hollywood Undead, and Asking Alexandria)

-Because it was in the Target center. Seeing my favorite bands (I like all 4 bands) in an arena was pretty damn awesome.

-Almost Easy by A7X.

-The band let some guy on stage to sing Second Heartbeat. The guy was actually pretty good. It was a nice surprise.

-I have some videos, but they're horrible quality. I'll just use a youtube one.

My dad's the administrator for a boy choir type thing, so those are the only concerts I can really go to. I'ts not my kind of music, sadly.

From one Streetlight Manifesto fan to another, I salute you. I got to see them in October during the last leg of their final tour. It was so powerful and crazy.

 

Also, just last week (Thursday), I saw Toh Kay do his solo show. It was so awesome because it was just him on stage with his guitar for the first half, playing a few pre-selected songs and requests (he played songs from the Catch 22 days as well as an acoustic cover of "Linoleum" at our request). Then he got a backing band to help him play the new (sadly canceled) album in it's entirety. It was just amazing.
