I'd like to point out at first that i appreciate both characters.

However i see some people borderline "mocking" Derpy ((well not here but in general)) about being a comic relief. Some are milder and say "There is no reason to vote Derpy."

Sure we do not know Derpy all that much and there might be no true reason to consider her better than Twilight but i would like here to point out that Twilight never seeked to raise herself higher than anypony else. She understood her importance but would never consider herself for example superior to Derpy.

Now humility aside both characters have their merit. Do not let the screentime Twilight has been given overshadow what makes Derpy special. Screen time doesn't matter... It doesn't make one character greater than the other it simply gives them more chances to shine.

Twilight indeed leads, she is indeed the Princess of Friendship. But Derpy doesn't go back in representing a whole. She was the one who offered herself to represent Ponyville when Rainbow Dash faked sickness... She fought along with the other pegasi for Equestria... both characters did something for their homes, their country, their friends... Twilight simply was in the spotlight when she did them.

So please... don't let the spotlight affect your vote. You might see heroes on TV... but the heroes you don't see are the common ponies like Derpy that are out there doing the best they can even if they don't get appreciated all that much.
