~Sugar Sprinkles~ 638 January 24, 2014 Share January 24, 2014 SO, after having a pretty bad day at work today, and dealing with some....pinheads .-. I'm just gonna make a post about this. AT your job now or past job or whatever, whats the most MEANEST and frustrating person you've ever dealt with? Today. Well, I work at a Bingo and take people's orders and serve food. Anyways, for the time I've worked there, yes, I have dealt with some insecure, immature, unpleasant people, but today, oh my gawd! This woman was sooo rude. Actually, no, 2 WOMEN. So, this first woman comes up to me with her hillbilly husband. This woman was basically going bald and just unpleasant to look at. She ordered a double cheeseburger deluxe. I assumed she knew what came on the double cheeseburger itself, she asked the difference between a regular double cheeseburger and the double deluxe. Only thing that's different, is the deluxe has bacon on it. Thats all. So, after she said that, she specifically said NO ONIONS. She wasn't the most pleasant person ordering, for she was quite snobby. Finally, her and her husbands order was up. I took it out to them. She looked at it and she said all snobbish "Well...thats NOT what I wanted..". I looked at her and said "You said no onions, right?" She shook her head no and said she said she didnt want mushrooms and all this other nonsense. Instead of fighting back with her and leading up to me getting reported and losing my job,I had so smile and fix it. The other woman I dealt with was just a.....basically an unpleasant ass. Whats your story? :3
AngelofDeath 259 January 24, 2014 Share January 24, 2014 I remember workin' at this sandwhich shop (Jimmy Johns for those who have heard of it) and everyone was great, except for the 2 co-managers. Since the place had just opened, they had to bring up 2 managers from another Jimmy Johns just to co-manage the place. Everyone else was all pleasant to work with, hell even the normal people who came in to order were nice as could be. But these 2 co-managers I just couldn't stand. Both mean as bulls and didn't give 2 shits about you as a worker.
Scootalove 10,689 January 24, 2014 Share January 24, 2014 The worst person I had to deal with at work was, my boss. I know he is the man who signs our paychecks and keeps us coordinated, but he is such a jerk. One time, I was done delivering some coffee when I came late to work and what he did was he would not pay me for the rest of month just for that one mistake. Ugh! Gone Airbourne 21,977 January 24, 2014 Share January 24, 2014 (edited) Probably back in last summer this jackass at my work got me into a whole lot of drama. At first there was this girl at my work when I first started there took an interest to me and we started dating for a short time. I took her out on that first week and things were going well between us... or so I thought :/. Then while I was at work I started noticing the girl I was dating was already flirting with this one guy at my work and that is where I cut the line because I had already been through that shit with the last girl I dated in High School. So she started dating this guy at my job and well at the time I really actually cared less about the whole deal. But there was one problem this guy that she was dating was ALREADY in a relationship to start with right.... None of my business so I just kept my nose out of everything. A couple days pass and I get this call from this random number that I had never seen before... Low and behold it was the (old) girlfriend of that guy I was just talking about. *How she got my # I have no freaking idea* I think she had called all of the workers at where I worked at asking them if they had any idea where he was at. I had just got home from hanging out with my co-workers at a party they were having at the house of that one girl who I dated for a short time. So while I was on the phone I firstly asked her how in the world she got my number? Then she just asked if I had seen that guy recently and well I did say I had saw him with hanging out with another girl from my work. All hell broke loose then, I mean I told her the truth about what was going on... it is a shame her boyfriend was lying behind her back. So a couple more days pass and her boyfriend finds out it was me who told her what was going on. We got into a fight at work couple bruises here and there not a great day for either one of us... Upon me telling him to keep out of all this bullshit cause it has already done a lot to me as it is... And at that time during the summer I was already going through a lot as it was not a good time. LESSON LEARNED NEVER DATE A GIRL YOU WORK WITH... I am through with that. Edited January 24, 2014 by Cherribomb

Frith is Magick 1,471 February 22, 2014 Share February 22, 2014 A customer. She left her wallet at home and wanted me to hold her order. We're technically not supposed to do that, so I cancelled it. She comes back a while later and I start re-entering the order, and she gets all pissy that I cancelled it. She proceeded to complain to the assistant manager, who told backed me up. She then complained to the manager about me and the assistant manager, who backed us up. She took the complaint all the way up to head office when her own disorganization was the cause of the problem. I had to make an apology (customer is king...). To my credit I didn't tell her to f off, though my expression probably did... Keep flyin'

Creamy Arty 6,252 February 23, 2014 Share February 23, 2014 As an aside for a few stories regaled above: some customers are bad for business. The worst I can recall was when I worked as a sysadmin for a public school district. We had a special education teacher at the middle school who had been there for many, many years. She had been known as a heavy drinker for much of that time as well. Not a problem, of course, unless the effects of it impact your job performance, impression on the kids, or you're actually drinking at the school. Problem was... all of these things were true for her. Why didn't they fire her when this was something they knew about for years? Tenure. A teacher who has been with a public school system in Virginia long enough to get tenured, and in most states by my understanding, is damn near impossible to get fired. What finally did her in was a student telling the school cop that she was acting strange. Said cop paid her a visit, smelled the booze, performed a breathalyzer test, and escorted her from the premises in cuffs. This woman was very rude, impatient, and contentious during her time working for the school and none were sad to see her go. 2 Kyoshi made this ^^ Come join us on Equestria.tv on Fridays at 6 PM Eastern for our weekly movie nights! Discordian 6,015 February 23, 2014 Share February 23, 2014 I don't generally deal with bad people when I go to work but in my first job the people who worked there were insufferable. They would take food from the bins when it is strictly against policy to eat anything that wasn't paid for. They would do this all hours of the day. Frustrated the hell out of me until one day I yelled across the store at someone who took a nugget in broad daylight. Of course, i didn't have the authority to do so but I made some enemies that day. It was made worse by the fact that my mom was a manager there too so people already didn't respect me cuz all I was to them was a manager's son. They thought I got special treatment even when she deliberately refused to treat me special. She avoided it at all costs. Take it from me: Don't work with or for family. One way or the other you're gonna get the short end of the stick. As an aside for a few stories regaled above: some customers are bad for business. It's making it really hard for a lot of new teachers to find jobs because all the old teachers are so protected by whatever it is (I really don't know) that even though they are out of touch with youth, don't do anything to help kids get better grades and overall don't help the school's image at all. I luckily got all the right teachers who I happen to connect with and who were really good about that sort of thing for pretty much my entire school life. ParsoOfEquestria 1,490 February 23, 2014 Share February 23, 2014 I remember a guy came into the shop with his laptop and asked me to fix the crashing. The amount of viruses was attrocious and irresponsible of owning a computer. I called him and told him I'll have to wipe the hard drive and keep a backup of the files he wanted. So doing all this, I give the machine and a backup disk to him, I later get a call and he literally screamed into my ear and carried on like a child because his new antivirus software is locking him out of sites, I ask which sites and look the ones that didn't sound pornographic up and the amount of viruses my antivirus picked up made me realize how he broke his computer in the first place. I told him it was a good thing, then he screamed at me to get the boss, so I did. Kallisti Imani 40 February 23, 2014 Share February 23, 2014 I have worked for some real doozies in regards to bosses... Had one boss who would scream at me in her office for about an hour a day, every day. Most of the time not even work related. That went on for nearly a year. I needed the job. She eventually got let go (or quit, depends on the version of the story you believe) when she yelled at the Executive Director. Had another boss who would wait til 5 minutes til quitting time and then hand me 4-6 hours worth of work that needed to "be on his desk first thing in the morning". And he outright refused to pay overtime. (Illegal? Why yes... but he didn't care). The worst clients I've ever had to deal with were doctors who would repeatedly ask "Do you know who I am??" (and, most of the time, I hadn't a clue beyond the fact that they were a doctor, but in their minds they were "SOMEONE VERY IMPORTANT"). That's why I am working so hard to be my own boss now...so if my boss is an a*shole, it's my own fault!

And he outright refused to pay overtime. (Illegal? Why yes... but he didn't care). I had a boss once, who always waited until the last minute on Thursdays to tell us we had mandatory Saturday overtime. It was in the contract that Saturday overtime could be offered as voluntary on Fridays, but if it was to be mandatory for Saturday, we had to be notified before quitting time on Thursday. He would literally wait at the timeclock, and smile while informing us just before time to clock out. He became legendary when he one day he did his usual wait by the timeclock, but was called away for something in the office. By the time he came back, we had all clocked out. When he told us we had mandatory Saturday, everyone just laughed. Nobody came in that Saturday, and he ended up being fired because he was told to inform us on TUESDAY and the company lost a client because he waited too long! Once, I almost got a department supervisor fired, but they just transferred him to a different department. I didn't like him putting his hand on my shoulder all the time whenever he came to my work station...Which was far more times than he went to any others! What a creep! I went to HR and filed an official sexual harassment complaint against him. I still think he should have been fired, but they moved him to a department with no women in it. When I told my dad about it, he almost came in to KILL the guy! Mom and I wouldn't let him though. LOL! Thank you Sparklefan1234!!!

Duster Dawnhorse 248 February 23, 2014 Share February 23, 2014 My boss at my first job, food service, was Satan. Never came in and when he did he was probably drunk and yelling at the employees, trained me by sitting in the back and yelling insults at me in front of the customers, and yelled in my face and threatened to fire me. A lot of our customers are elderly Japanese and don't speak English well, and my boss thought that if he just said it louder and slower they'd get it. meanwhile me, the employee who speaks conversationally fluent Japanese, is sent off to do menial tasks while he talks to the customers like they're children. The one time I did take over and do a transaction in Japanese my boss got mad at me for making him look bad. I lost so much weight from the sheer stress and misery at that job. They thankfully fired me. There's a reason that place is always hiring and their Yelp reviews are hit or miss. My current job, handler at a dog daycare, I haven't had that many rude people. We have "escorts" that bring their dogs in for grooming and they're super nice. However there's one woman with two horribly trained dogs (beagle and bulldog) and she's just rude. She hates my boss because he tells her that her beagle is badly behaved and won't let her bring in the bulldog at the same time because they have a bad codependant relationship. She now brings both dogs on the weekends when my boss isn't there so she doesn't have to hear bad things about her dog. That lady's poor wife is so sweet and puts up with such rude behavior. I feel bad for her. 1 Pacific Ponycon 17 || BABSCon 17 || Anime Expo 17 Panelist/Vendor || Panelist/Vendor/Media || Attendee Tumblr || DeviantART || Twitter

King of Canterlot 9,604 July 11, 2018 Share July 11, 2018 (edited) There was this one guy who nit-picked over every single item's price on his transaction, some of the items were only 33 cents and he still was all picky and stuff over that price, saying stuff like "That scale is broken, it's five cents off" Really? Your gonna complain about the price of an item that's 33 cents? While really picky customers like that are seen every once in a while, the more common ones are the kind who get upset when they find out they've come in a day too late and our sales prices for items have ended, yet they still demand the sale price of the item If you want to get the item while it's on sale, then please just come in before the sales program ends, it's that simple yet so many customers out there don't seem to understand that. But overall, many of customers I deal with are very nice, just every once in a while you get one of the nit-picky ones or demanding ones Edited July 11, 2018 by King of Canterlot 1 RA RA RASPUTIN

Envy 6,267 July 11, 2018 Share July 11, 2018 Ah, it's been a couple of years since I quit my last job, so let me see if I can remember. My problem was never really with customers. Sure I was annoyed with them coming to my aisle at 3 in the morning, but that was more my problem, not their's. What frustrated me were coworkers. Especially two coworkers that were around when I quit. They were inconsiderate, loud jerks. They were also misogynistic, homophobic trash, with that. So you can bet they did not like me. They called a lesbian coworker a slur, and then management did absolutely nothing about it. They were also as I said, just inconsiderate in general. Even though it was against the rules and just flat out rude, they would blast their music out loud from their phones. I don't care whether I like the music you listen to or not, that is RUDE. Also it sounded like trash through their cell phone speakers and it just irritated the heck out of me. No matter how much the management was supposed to take care of this, they never did. They also called in a lot and got away with it. In comparison I remember one coworker once called in for a couple of days and lied about where they had gone. That coworker got fired immediately. Never even saw him again. These two idiots? They called in every single Saturday night to attend some wrestling event. The management knew about it. The management did nothing. Gr. I hated those jerks so much. I could go even worse with one of them. It was all long before we worked, though, but he did something that should have put him in jail, far away from women, far away from other people. But after I quit... I learned that not only do those types of people get away with things and work like normal, they can also somehow get into positions like the president of the country. Everything needs more woodwind! One of them even called him out on it when he was talking shit in front of me. I think I approached him once, and said "if you have a problem with me, then tell me, if not then cut the shit".
