Show him something that's the least girly, but that'd get him interested in. I prefer the episode when Pinkie Pie goes insane from not have the other Ponies coming over for Gummies after Party. I don't know about the music they dance to though, but I prefer that episode over most to show non-believer.

Ugh... trying to think........ Maybe when Twilight goes insane too. Something that shows it's not just "A girly show for little girls". Twilight honestly comes off very creepy at first. I wonder how some things get through the censors  .

erm none, let your friend find out on his own however fell fre to show him some youtube videos that are pony related such as Epic Pie Time

Or Apples.mov for teh lolz. Man, HotDiggetyDemon's .MOV series is probably the best thing to show a non Brony! Probably "Want it/Need it (hold me)) Video too. Edited by Ad Foedera Cresco

I'd say it really depends on your friend. How old? What kind of taste do they have? One of the great things about the show is that there's something in it that can appeal to virtually anyone who's open to it.

For older people, the episodes that make a lot of use of the old Loony Toons style slapstick might really appeal to them and bring them in. The real trick is just to find something that engages your friend enough to knock down the stereotype of 'it's a show for little girls' they probably have.

Or, just go with Dragonshy!

My answer, as always, is the first episode. If he's curious and wants to check it out, why start at a random episode?

Think of it this way: of course that if somebody's interested he should watch them in order, but the first two episodes aren't THAT great, and unless he's already a fan (which I'm assuming he isn't, yet) he won't find them that appealing. It's not bad to start with the fisrt episodes, but there are way better ones, ones that everyone can watch and enjoy.

That's EXACTLY what I've done!

I'm psychic...WoooOOOooo....

Anyway, Show Lesson Zero, I showed it to a few friends who WERE haters, now they tolerate the ponies.

Psycho-Twi and Mortal-kombat Fluttershy changed them I think....

Also, Discord is awesome, even to non-Bro's, I showed that around, no-one even knew who or what it was, they just saw how awesome Discord was....Then they went home and searched it....I got some odd comments and looks the next day, everyone still loves Dissy though!

Return of Harmony (Exclusively Discord to start with, maybe?)

Lesson Zero (Psycho-Twi and any violence.)

Maybe, Feeling Pinkie Keen, Many people have longed for anvils and pianos to drop on characters since Tom & Jerry went Crap.

Good Luck!

I really need some help here. In a previous post, I said my friends disapproved of me being a brony and called us all "immature faggots" who like a show for "4 year old girls".Now I'm getting maybe one chance, if I'm lucky, to show them the show is different from that. Because of this, I need advice on which episode(s if I'm really lucky) to show them. So what episode(s) are best to show non-bronies/haters?

Edit 1/3/2012: I appreciate all the suggestions, but I have one other question that's troubling me: How do you bring it up? I mean, let's say my friend and I just got done with a game of with a game of zombies on Call of Duty, how exactly am I supposed to bring up ponies?

I have this same problem. I always show them Season 1 Episode 9 Bridle Gossip, because it's funny, it shows that it has mature humour and it lets you get to know the ponies the way they are farther into the show, rather than the first few episodes where they're just introducing them. hope this helped! :)

I quickly looked on a list of all episodes and I think "Over the Barrel" would be the best one. It's one of the funniest and least girly episodes IMHO.

Ah, another case of really wanting to change a hater's opinion.

I just don't understand that. It's just kinda hypocritical, forcing haters to like the show when we too dislike things (i.e. previous generations of MLP).

But if you really don't care about letting them keep their opinions, just go with either of the ones the two people before me recommended. They're both great.

My friend used to be a hater, then he took a friendship to the knee.

In all seriousness though I have a friend who didn't really approve of it. He was never heard from again.

Sorry in all seriousness for serious this time, he is now a brony like myself. The episode I used that made him into a brony was Applebuck Season.

I don't think that he is trying to force the show on his friend, he just wants to show his friends an episode that will make them realize that this show isn't just for girls.

The best thing to do is show them the very first episode of season 1.So that way they get the story of MLP.It's really important to know that.So that way they know why twilight sparkle studies friendship. That kind of stuff.

Try not to force him into watching a show.

Maybe Read it and Weep, it's pretty funny and who wouldn't enjoy Daring Do anyway? But yeah, if they're a dedicated hater then they wouldn't even watch it in the first place and even if they did they probably wouldn't be converted

I'd say return of harmony, part one. I should a friend of mine's coltfriend that and he had to find part two, now he's in the herd :P

Nothing like Discord's awesomeness to make show seem manly.

The problem is that they haven't even seen the show, so their opinions are based on no facts whatsoever. I can accept if someone doesn't like the show, but if they haven't even seen it, that's different.

Well I mean when I was a non-brony and I checked out the very first episode. That was what got me into liking the show. Honestly I don't think it matters which episode you show them first all of them are awesome. I would just go with your favorite one and let them see that ;)

To be accurate, I have three friends in this group of "haters" I'll speak of. Only one of them has seen the show, and I did show him season 1's episodes 1 and 2 (The whole pilot episode). He didn't have time to see more, he had to go teach some music lessons, but he said that while it did have "some references that he could see could be enjoyed, there was still too much 'cutesyness' in it that it's still a show for little girls." So yeah, the pilot episode? No.
