Most anti bronies I've seen act like the show is the worst piece of modern animation ever and act like the fandom is full of creepy pedophile manchildren. So no, I haven't seen any.

Has anybody ever had a conversation with a reasonable, well spoken anti-brony? Perhaps they tried the show and didn't like it. They seem rare to me. If so, what reasons did they have?

People who don't like the show are not "anti-bronies" they just don't like show and show no hatred towards people who enjoy it. I know few people like that. In the end it's all matter of personal taste and if someone does not like show he/she can't be forced to like it. 

And people You call "antibronies" are people who are simply haters. They hate show and hate people, who watch it (notice that You called group anti-bronies, not anti-mlp or something). You won't hear any reasonable opinion from them, because opinion about bronies is based on stereotypes that are false. And generally just hating something for no reason can hardly be called reasonable.

However, I HAVE found some very decent NON-bronies. They've been fairly open on the matter, sometimes dropping it for the sake of not getting on their nerves (which I was okay with), and some hearing me out for why I like it.

As in an actually fan-hater? Not really because even the few smart ones that dislike a certain parts of the fanbase I've meant will admit they have no problem with the fans that don't fit into that sub-group when engaged in reasonable debate.

 

I would like to not that someone can smart and sill act like a dumbass.

An anti-brony or "hater" is just simply someone who doesn't like or approve of MLP:FiM and/or the fandom. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Just as there are bad bronies out there, I'm sure a lot of the people, if not most who dislike or simply choose not to watch MLP:FiM are otherwise reasonable and friendly people.

 

My brother's "anti-brony," He tried watching the 1st episode and a few clips and didn't understand or enjoy the show. He doesn't really ridicule me for watching the show, just a few jokes but only in jest, not malice. Likewise I know a bisexual friend online that formerly did a lot of RP on a Naruto RPG site I was formerly a part of. He doesn't like the style and didn't see the hype either, which is fine.

 

Just because some people don't like the show doesn't mean they're automatically bigoted or small minded. They're entitled to their views and opinions, just as our fandom is to ours.

I understand what you are saying but what you are describing is a "non-brony", an "anti-brony" is someone who actively insults bronies and the show.

Smart aggressors are the worst. When someone is dumb you could shrug it off as "They don't know any better". When they are smart and can give you very detailed reasons they hate bronies you have to think "Hey you should be smart enough to know better."

This is seriously one of my main pet peeves with a lot of bronies, people who simply decide that the show is not their cup of tea but don't hate on bronies are not anti bronies or "haters" they are just people who decided the show is not their thing for whatever reason. There was one such person who made a thread on here saying just that and asking us what we see in the show, he was polite, civil and had genuine curiosity. The real anti bronies and haters are the ones that go out of their way to actually hate on or troll bronies and automatically judge the show and its fandom without even bothering to understand it. I respect people who decide MLP is not their thing and there are some of them are intelligent and reasonable people but the real anti bronies I mentioned tend to be incredibly stupid and narrow minded.

It's completely possible.  Most of my friends are pretty smart, and yes, they are anti-bronies.  Just a couple of months ago, I was an anti-brony, and I consider myself smart.  I guess they don't have much good reason for acting that way (typical anti-brony reasoning), but they are smart.  I guess it depends on your definition of "smart".  Although my friends are not, I can easily imagine a well-reasoned anti-brony.  It actually seems like there are a lack of smart bronies where I'm from.  Of course, that could be because the smart ones remain closeted like I have.

Um, what are we talking about when we say "anti-bronies" again? I'm guessing by "smart anti-bronies" you mean people who don't like bronies but aren't belligerent about it and have good reasons for it.

 

In that case, I can tell you of one person I know from a different (non-pony) forums. She's been a fan of MLP since G1 and hangs around on old fan sites. Well, bronies flooded the place and spoke hatefully about previous gens and stirred up a whole lot of drama. She does enjoy the show but she does not ever want to be grouped into this fanbase because of what she has seen or experienced from other bronies. 

 

For me, I totally understand why she would want to keep distance from us because honestly, I think she's had enough. Sure, we're not all like that but I think her having peace of mind vastly outweighs her giving us another chance.

I think I've seen maybe one smart anti-brony. He simply made a video stating why he didn't like the show or the fandom, he was articulate and gave valid reasons why he didn't like the show, and left it at that. Forgot his Youtube username though.

I never said they were all idiots, as in intelligence, but as in how they act towards putting up an argument, is very immature.

 

There probably are some, but I haven't met any yet.

I am positive that there are plenty of "mature" or "intelligent" anti-bronies that just pretend to be stupid when attempting to troll us, solely  for the purpose of trying to get a rise out of us. Thats why whenever I encounter an anti-brony online, I always maintain a calm and articulate demeanor, to try and help them realize that I am not a blithering nonsensical pony fanboy that they believe us all to be.

anti bronies are different than non bronnies.

non-brony- someone who doesn't watch the show, and just lets it be.

anti-brony- someone who hates bronies and deliberately goes against the show.

NO, there is no such thing as a smart anti brony. anti bronies are just there to get attention and love to be complete arses. I will admit, I am an anti-directioner, and I am not smart in that sense. I haven't trolled them lately. yes, I am calling myself stupid.

I guess though, that if someone just doesn't like the show, they are not necessarily an "anti brony" as they, well...just don't enjoy a show about ponies. A true anti brony IMO is more inclined to be an actual hater, and go online and vent his hate of the brony fandom.

I'm friends with people that don't like the show, but aren't anti-bronies. To them it's just not their thing. My brother is an anti-brony, but not a smart one. He just hates on bronies and MLP like I did back when I was a hater. Well then again, when I was a hater I used words like "gay" or "weird", I never said things like "pedophile" or the things my "brother" says about us. (Btw, me and my brother highly disliked each other ever since we could learn things)

A smart person would say, "well I think this is stupid, but people can like what they want." I see nothing intelligent about spamming garbage on the internet about how much you hate someone else's spam.

 

From what I've seen, "anti-bronies" are often liked even less than bronies. This is probably because a lot of people are just annoyed with having things shoved down their throat, and as much as they hate the pony internet conquest, they hate complaining and rudeness even more. 

 

So I suppose it depends on what you mean by "smart." Could there be an anti-brony astrophysicist? Sure. Do I think that posting hate online could ever be smart? Not really.

Seriously though, if you are hating on people for liking a harmless cartoon, can you really be all the smart?
