What if ponies we see are "TV ponies"

Hi,

So I was thinking about how we've seen only a few chubby ponies. Actually, I don't know if we've seen ANY at all. Anorexic ponies do exist => Princess Cadance when she was exhausted. 

And that thought brought me another one : what if the ponies we see are "TV" ponies ? Like in our sad world, in almost every american TV show all the girls (and the boys) are pretty, thin, with no physical flaws etc.

So are real ponies not as pretty as the mane 6 and the ponies we see around ? What if all of our OCs are based on "perfect" unrealistic ponies ?

Considering I live on a ranch I know first hand that the ponies in the show are not very similar to real ponies. The mane six are all bright colors and their physical features are altered so they look less like the real thing. In reality ponies have darker colors and longer faces. Also depending on the type of pony they can be bigger and more well built or small and thin. However no pony is divoid of physical flaws, so the ones in MLP are not accurate to real life (if you didn't figure that out already)

They probably make them like that to be more appealing to the audience. Though it would be funny to see ocs of realistic horses.

I think the body types portrayed are average, in so far as 'average' exists for a world of cartoon horses. Like, the body type we se most often not especially slender and pretty. I think the Princesses and Fleur de Lis set the standard for 'attractive' by pony standards in terms of body. And the Mane Six themselves see to be stratified on attractiveness, it's implied Fluttershy and Rarity have an edge in that department over the other girls. So there might be details to their overall looks that the animation doesn't capture... And there's always headcanons.

While Fluttershy and Rarity may represent the pony equivalents of models, I'm sure that, as in real life, there would be somepony attracted to each of the Mane 6 (even the oh-so-feminine Rainbow Dash, if there were someone out there who could keep up with her).

Oh gosh I was so scared my thoughts would be taken by everypony as seriously as by the ponies of the first answers. It's just a lack of chocolate in my life that made me say that;

Well it is a cartoon, so they more than likely didn't even think about adding physical imperfections when they were drawing the characters.

The ponies that we see in real life are a bit different compared to the ponies in the show. Since the ponies in real life, are not animated.
