Additional pony

I thought about it a lot and I think there should be an additional main character pony and he should be a male.

No, it'd kill the current dynamic, and 9/10 times, introducing a new main (or mane, in this case) character never works out for the better. No reason to try and fix something that isn't broken, especially when the perceived remedy has potential to actually break what you're trying to fix

Well... Lets say the writers have already problems to give every character the screentime he, or she, deserves. Like Rares in season three. Twie in season four. Spike in... errr... every season?

The time to introduce a main male character was at the start of the series.

 

That said, I would like to see some of the very few male characters brought to the forefront a little more so we can honestly say they exist from time to time. Sure, MLP has traditionally been targetted at young girls but the disproportionate ratio of female to male characters is ludicrous.

Personally, I must respectfully disagree.   To have a "male" main character, would pretty much kill, as everypony said, the "current dynamic".  As a supporting character............then possibly.

No, because that would kill the current dynamic and most of the time adding a new character usually doesn't work out. If they have no personality, don't add anything to the story, then why bother with it.

Probably not male, since it would create some awkward dynamic (and worse, fanon) between the characters. I don't have a problem with adding a mare to the main cast, though.

I disagree. I can think of plenty of instances where adding a new main character works out for the better:

 

* Knock Out, Dreadwing, Airachnid, Smokescreen, Ultra Magnus, and Predaking in Transformers: Prime

* Toph in Avatar: The Last Airbender

* Pixal in Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu

* Nearly every Doctor companion swap in Doctor Who (and perhaps the regenerations, considering that personalities can differ between incarnations)

MAYBE if it's a past/alternate universe version of Sombra, as a good guy. I saw a video that had good Sombra vs evil Sombra and it was pretty emotional.

nah, it would break the dynamic, real hard, it might be better to introduce a new recurring male character outside of any main group (mane6 and CMC). Maybe a new CMC from Babsy's branch works

I'm on the yes and no side of this. I wouldn't mind seeing some new characters that stuck around a little, but the way the show has already established its self, there would be no room. I think Discord does a fine job of being a secondary, but he could do with some more air time. A male pony would be nice to follow, and maybe even if they through in some secondary episodes just like how the CMC are, where every once in a while we break free from the 6 and follow another group. I would not mind that at all.

 

I really want an episode to see what Discord is up to when he isn't harassing the 6....

I'd love to see more of Spike every once in a while, but I don't really  see the necessity.

The current format works fantastic, why dabble with it? I don't really see what Mac could add to this.

With the exception of Smokescreen, none of these are truly main characters though and even he didn't really add much to the show....

TLA was planned from start to finish before they started though, with a strong central narrative. I very much doubt that there exists a 5seasons masterscript for FiM.

If so go watch season 1 of Rugrats...PLEASE watch season 1 of Rugrats if you never seen the cartoon before.

 

It was one of the 90's greatest creations along with Aaahh real monsters, Ren and Stimpy, Kablam, and many other shows! Like horror shows like Are you afraid of the dark etc....aww...crap...I am nostalgia now! Oh well I got it all on harddrives!
