gaming Worst game in your favorite gaming series

I'm honestly going to have to go with the Assassin's Creed games and say the first because it had so much filler and tedious busy work. It was in no means bad, but it did feel like a chore slogging through the mini-missions sometimes.

F.E.A.R 3 - it just didn't live up to the other games in the franchise, sadly. It was outsourced aswell, so yeah.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 was awful, and so was Sonic Heroes.

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. They're not bad, but they're the least good Pokémon games. They're pretty slow, and can get dull at times. I enjoy Platinum a bit more. I'm replaying it now, so hopefully I'll come around to it.

Y'know, I've been on this site for almost ten years and I've never had a proper signature. Ain't that something?

The Fallout franchise is great. Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel was not. Good thing Bethesda slammed the non-canon hammer on it.  :okiedokielokie:

I wouldn't say Super Smash Bros. Brawl was bad, but that game felt pretty disappointing. My big gripe is the controls, they just feel so clumsy. The first two games I enjoyed, and the fourth one looks as if it doesn't have those problems, but Brawl just irked me because of that.

And what about Spyro? From being on a cereal box with Lara Croft and Crash. Now he is just a cash cow for Activision with Skylanders.

Halo 4; I finished the campaign, leveled up to 50, played another copy and paste FPS, and then I uninstalled it immediately.

Going to say this right now about Spyro; I downright LOVE the Legend of Spyro series. I have all 3 games and I love them so much. But I do despise Skylanders with all of my being.

Favorite game series is Pokemon. I grew up with Diamond and Platinum, then B/W sucked 100+ hours out of my life, B/W2 even more because of that super fun World Tournament (Ohmygodit'sclairblueredandomfgflannery'sanimationsquee), i've gone through my Leafgreen more times then I care to count, Soulsilver (And DPP) I also grew up with due to me being mostly a Gen IV and V kid, I recently got Emerald and I've beaten Wallace twice, and Steven once, and I have 37+ hours on my X version due to random online battling and Wonder Trade. If we want to talk about the spinoffs, I could rant about how Pmd2 is a masterpiece that everyone should play and Conquest is Fire Emblem meets Pokemon and it works.

I can easily say that I cannot choose a Pokemon game I dislike. I love every one to pieces. Actually, i'll be honest; Hey You Pikachu sucks.

Out of any of your favorite gaming series, like...Mario, Star Fox, Pokemon, Kingdom hearts, Legend of Zelda, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, etc, etc, etc, what has been the worst game they have made that was a total disappointment?

I have a few...

I really loved/love Banjo Kazooie. There has been 3 major games and a few spin-offs. Honestly, Nuts and bolts for the 360 disappointed me. Not only did it make me unhappy that Rare ware moved to Microsoft, the game play was annoying. Sure, those graphics were pretty cool, the levels were cool, but the whole time you had to be on a machine was horrible. Why couldn't you just be Banjo and Kazooie??

Nuts and Bolts was actually rushed. Microsoft rushed Rare for an earlier release, so the content they had wanted to put in the game had been cut off because of their deadline. D:

Sonic, 0, 6!

Say what you will about Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, to me and The Great Clement, no Sonic game can top how god terrible Sonic 06 was (even though I've never actually played it myself).

Oh wait, I'm sorry. How god terrible "SONIC THE HEDGEHOG" was. Excuse me for the creators not thinking of a subtitle.

:eww: Sit down everyone, I've gotta tell you about POKEMON MYSTERY DUNGEON: GATES OF INFINITY

I love the Pokemon series, but it was the Mystery Dungeon series that got me hooked. PMD was the thing I'd spend all my cash on when it wasn't being used for candy. I replayed Blue/Red Rescue teams twice each, time/darkness thrice, and sky 5 times. That's how much of a fan I was. So when I heard that an new installation had arrived, I was pretty excited. It wasn't sprite animated and I didn't have as much variety in Pokemon, but I was happy to let that slide.

But... gosh darn it, it was so SLOW. The dialogue was heavy where it shouldn't have been (One conversation lasted a full 6 minutes and most of it had nothing to do with what was going on), there was no personality test, the new mechanics were stuffed down my throat, and it felt like the game was insulting my intelligence on corporate-owned virtual monsters.

Now I've been asked before, "Why do I care that there was no personality test?" The PT was the first thing in every game that you're introduced to. It asks you about yourself, and makes you consider your answers. Imagine yourself as an 8 year old girl, being fairly new to video games, and the first thing you see is a personality test. You think, "WOW! It wants to know about me!" So you consider the questions carefully, answer them, and it tells you to touch a bow tie. Confused, you touch it, and it starts radiating a rainbow of colors. Amazing! Then the game tells you about yourself, and you're surprised by how much it got from those simple questions. AND THEN the game tells you, based on your personality, what you'd be as a Pokemon! Your mind is blown!

So only 3-7 minutes in the game, you've got a connection and a strong reason to keep playing. You care about what happens to your character because that's 8 year old YOU. And when you go out in the world and help your partner, you feel great because you've helped someone. To that Pokemon, you're a hero! And after that, you want to keep helping them out. You want to go on adventures with that Pokemon and see what else this amazing game has to offer!

The PT was a consistent thing in the PMD games. A staple. No matter what happened plot or mechanic-wise, there was always a personality test that immersed you in the game. But in Gates? No. In Gates, it dumps a couple characters on you, and throws you into a game with a dreadfully slow pace, boring dialogue, and small dungeons with plenty of potential that just fall flat on their face.

It wouldn't even be so bad if they had tried to at least make you care about your fellow Pokemon, but they didn't. It's just, "help these dudes stand up for themselves and learn about friendship" and go about your business. No twists, no change of pace. It's boring from start to finish.

1/10 Don't even give it the honor of looking at it.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star, from the Paper Mario series. Granted, I didn't hate it like every other fan seemed to- I kinda enjoyed it, actually :)- but it just doesn't stand up to the other installments in the series.  -_-

I see people saying Sonic 06 and Sonic Boom here. While those are bad, I'd have to say the worst Sonic game is probably Sonic Genesis for the GBA. Many might not consider it an actual game but a port, but either way, it was a terrible port of the Genesis classic. Too much slow down, tons of glitches, poor physics and framerate, as well as music and sound effects that are utter ear-rape.

And don't use the GBA's limitations as an excuse, because the original game is able to be ported well on there, and here's proof:

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney. The thing that makes the Ace Attorney series great to me is the characters. Solving cases is fun and all, but the endearing characters made it something magical. AJ:AA comes along with an almost entirely new cast. The story was good and overall I liked it, but 3 of the main characters in the game - Apollo, Ema Skye, and Klavier Gavin - got obnoxious quickly. I will give credit where it is due and say that it was a good game with a great villian, but it really pales in comparison to the other games in the series.
