Vinyl Scratch Expectations

As we all know the new My Little Pony movie Rainbow Rocks is soon coming, I would like to share my expectations for vinyl scratch (the best pony ever) in this movie.

 

1.) She has a voice!

as we all know most background characters don't have line, and seeing as thought shes on the cover of some books and has her own mini-movie I am really hoping she has some speaking lines!

 

 

2.) She helps Twilight and the gang in some way

If Vinyl is a main character (or at least a talking supporting character) I hope she isn't a just seen once or twice. I hope she helps the gang over come the climax of the movie (whatever it is)

She'll be loud, proud, and in our faces. Definitely the vibe I picked up from the teaser with her in it. And it's usually the accepted fanon for her personality anyways.

She'll never be a main character, or have a voice. She's just a special pony or person, in this case, that we see from time to time. I highly doubt she'll ever be anything more.

 

I just hope she remains as sexy as she's been in all the shorts we've seen.

the problem with giving her a voice is that there is a very large fannon around her. If the voice isn't 100% perfect, many a brony will rage in butthurt. So while I would love to see her be the in your face party rock girl that I think she is, doing so may cause a lose of money Hasbro could otherwise achieve.

 

But I would love nothing more than for her to be a loud, almost out of control party person.

Ok..first thing...

 

I DO like the Idea of VS's character...what I do NOT like is how hard they are pushing her.

 

It feels like she is the desert of a meal that is the mane6 and you got a bunch of kids screaming for there pudding before they eat there meat (thats a bit inside for you younger pups).

 

Vinyl COULD be a great character, and she COULD also by a bunch of hype to wait an entire 90 minutes to hear some Hasbro directors daughter do a single line of dialogue. My hope is she turns into another Big Mac, when shes on screen its a joy, has a solid "character action" (like Macs "Eeyup") and is never overly focused on but can be relied upoun to carry a CMC storyline if needed.

 

If she is ANYTHING more then this, she is being pushed too hard and taken time away from our mane girls...which is NOT cool. We have characters for this purpose, they are called the CMC and frankly I would rather see more Sweetebelle or AB development instead of some flash in the pan character that is COMPLETELY built around a current fad of music that probly will not be "in" within 3 years time (btw I do enjoy Dubstep, just being realistic in music trends)

In the prequel book for Rainbow Rocks, she communicates entirely by text message. Even if the person she wants to talk to is right next to her.

 

So I have a feeling that the plan is to keep her mute.

I don't see how she can't be important to the plot of this movie, given all the time that's been dedicated to her. Whether or not she gets a voice, well, on the one hand the producers might be thinking back to Derpy and shuddering, not willing to repeat that, but on the other hand we already have derpy as silent and big mac hardy talking, how many more silent characters can we do without it getting old?

 

If i had to pick a side, i'd say they won't give her a voice, given how they've portrayed her thus far, but she'll be somehow important without overtaking the spotlight of the mane six (at least not cannonically )

Oh man, the fanservice department is strong in Equestria Girls. I kinda hope for the best, but I'm not going to expect a voice. If she does have a voice in canon, well you know how that might go.

One thing that bothers me is how this is something you know is going to get a poor response.

 

It also irritates me how overzealous the fans are about Vinyl, enough so to force her into a spot that she honestly doesn't deserve. I even saw some kid on YouTube saying Vinyl Scratch was the "face of the official fandom" (whatever the "official fandom" is.)

 

This kind of forced her into this fan-service role, and now that they're hyping her appearance up to the nth degree, I promise you either a lot of fanon will be destroyed, infuriating fans, or it'll just be nothing but fan-service, infuriating fans AND lowering the overall quality of the movie.

How are you sure Vinyl is going to get a voice? All we have seen her is in "Music to my Ears" and her bit in the shred-off short,(Forgot the name lol), and she didn't speak in those. If it has been confirmed, can you send me a link?

I'm not getting the whole idea of not giving Vinyl a voice. What was wrong with the idea of having Jessie Nowhack being Vinyls voice in an official complicity? 

 

An why not push Vinyl into the stratosphere? The mane six will still have their spots in the movie, and in the show. Putting even a little  more spotlight on Vinyl will make here more marketable.

 

It looks like we're more upset that Hasbro/DHX is actually doing something with our beloved background pony. Kinda seems like we're being a little bit possessive of her. 

 

This is a chance for Vinyl to shine. We shoudl be happy.

I'm hoping that Vinyl has a voice so I suck up the sweet rage juices that spray everywhere, even if Vinyl's voice is absolutely perfect in every way.

 

Personally, I don't care if her voice doesn't sound like the fandom interpretation as long as it fits her personality.

Vinyl Scratch is famous for being into her music.  I can't imagine her talking unless it's just a remark like "way cool" or whatever you say in your generation (sorry-I'm old!!!).

All I have to say is that if she's not voiced by Nowacking then I'll be thoroughly disappointed.

 

It's just the Vinyl I've come to expect. Now, barring that, I'll be fine with just about anything they do to her. Just don't give the girl a speaking role.

Look at how many people got mad because they slightly changed the color of Vinyl's eyes in the show.

My guess is that she will have a plot centric role. I see them using her as a catalyst in the rising action. Possible helping with the actual resolution. This can be done without voicing the character.  So, key role but no voice. Probably the best way to handle using her that has the least likelihood of causing fan rage.
