The loose ends. (Spoilers!)

Alright..I think the majourity of us can agree that todays episode was beyond the rising falls of epicosity!

BUT...there's still a few things I feel need mentioning...

What about the loose ends?

Like, really...there were so many this season, and none of them were ever really tied up correctly!

Like...who was the pony of shadows at the end of "Castlemania?"

and what about flutterbats tooth at the end of the episode?

What about pinkie's real relation to the apple family?

What's to become of celestia and luna's castle???

I know there's a few others...but those are the main ones I'm thinking of...

I dunno...it's just...I feel like the season finished on an amazing note...predicitable in some ways, but still humongously

grand...

But the whole season overall? it had some good episodes yes...but too many cliffhangers that went nowhere...

 

Anyone else feel this way? Do you think any of these loose ends will ever be tied?

You know, I think they will bring up the pony of shadows in s5, because they're pretty much going to have to, considering that they are kinda running low on ideas now.

 

The castle may be revisited...maybe even made into a hotel.

 

Flutterbat's tooth may never be revisted, but who knows.? They revisited, Flutterguy.

 

Same goes for Pinkie Pies relation to the Apple family, but doubt it.

I believe that could have been tirek... The pony of shadows I mean... Yellow eyes, hooded cloak... It's kind of obvious really (at least I thought so) in fact I had a feeling the cloaked figure would be the bad guy in the season finale... As for the other loose ends I don't know... I guess flutterbat was just a gimmick, the moral of pinkie's relationship to the apples is friends are the family you pick and even if you aren't blood related to some pony, they can still feel like family... And Celestia and Luna's castle... Could be a vacation home when one of the sisters visits twilight? XD

Well as far as the pony of shadows things goes, it couldn't have been tirek...the eyes were wrong...those were "alicorn style" eyes like celestia's and zecoras...tireks were waaaay different...and as far as the castle? seems a bit lame of them to build it up the whole season and have it just turn into a vacation spot...but who knows...

I took the Pony of Shadows to be more of a cute joke/twist rather than a serious loose end. Like "it's not haunted really - booyah! it is!". Sort of the same with Fluttershy's fang.

 

I think the Pinkie and the Apples thread is as done as it's likely to be - they've decided she's a Pie in her heart.

 

I do think the old castle is a huge loose end though. It featured a few times and they were doing it up, but in the end it didn't really play a part.

 

An ongoing loose end for me is where does Scootaloo come from and who does she live with? That started before season 4 of course, but I would still like to know!

CMC still have no marks.... It just dawned on me, if Tirek met them, do you think he's point out how obvious their natural talents are. He can't take there magic till they do. They'd probably just frustrate him no end.

I was really looking forward to Flutterbat and the Pony of Shadows being revisited in the finale...Oh well.

I do like that theory someone brought up about Tirek being the pony of shadows, but he probably would have been to week to be walking at that point.

I doubt tirek was pony of shadows seen in castle mania. 1 which is heard and describe by Apple Jack, she describes it as a ghost/phantom of the remains of nightmare moon after Luna was banished.

 

I would love to see more of the castle, if any left to explore since we so far seen the throne room, library, organ room, hallway of statues, traps.

 

I was hoping the CMC get their cutie marks before season 4 finale, looks like it'll wait.

The pony of shadows at the end of Castle Mane-ia was just done in homage to Scooby Doo according to the writer. The fang also meant nothing.

The Shadow Pony and Fluttershy's fang are both nods to classic horror films. It's the trope of "The End.......?"

 

Pinkie and Applejack's relation to one another was something I think they just wanted to leave to our imaginations.

 

I think the real answer to the castle question is.... Who cares? Honestly it just seems like one of those old, mystical places the main character goes to get knowledge about something. Which is what it is, and should remain that way unless they really need it for something. Who knows, maybe the writers have a plan for it. But I would hardly call that a "loose end".

I sort of hope that season 5 explains some things that were shown in season 4 like, the origin of the Rainbow powers, an appearance by Starswirl the Bearded, showing Luna and Celestia as fillies growing up, more explanation on Tirek and his brother and maybe an appearance by his brother.

interesting ideas here...but as far as the homage to the "The END?"

 thing...it works if that's the only movie/episode, and nothing follows after...but for a series that continues..."the end?" implies that something

more on that subject will occur later...a "to be continued" sort of thing...so I dunno...
