MLP is not even up there as one of my favourites. G1 maybe. But still, not even near my faves.

 

Dragon Ball Z, most awesome anime I've ever watched.

 

-Along with many more good ol' animes from the 80s and 90s.

 

Samurai Jack, best Cartoon Network show.

 

-Along most CN shows.

 

The Simpsons, a unique masterpiece in sitcoms.

 

-South Park and Family Guy are not in such level, their humor is too off. 

 

Ed, Edd and Eddy. This show was random before it was cool.

 

Tom and Jerry. Best slapstick ever.

 

Scooby Doo, Where are You?. I love it. So creepy, yet so funny.

 

Pink Panther. Sorry Charles Chaplin, but the Pink Panther is still the best silent character ever made for me.

 

David the Gnome. My Childhood.

Oh lordy, I'd write a book if I listed all my favorite cartoons besides MLP. I may have been born in 1990 but my favorites range from stuff made in the 30s to today. Popeye, Disney shorts, classics like the Flintstones, Tom and Jerry, etc. Then, you've got all those Nicktoons from 1991-2004 or so, Nick's golden age. There are only a few from that I dislike. And you've also got the golden age of Cartoon Network originals, your Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Lab, etc. Then you've got other stuff like Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs and Garfield and Friends and the first seasons of Pokemon and Digimon. Then you've got Disney Channel cartoons, from Talespin to Kim Possible. I don't think I realized until now just how widespread my taste in cartoons is, lol.

I will admit, while MLP is up there, it isn't my favorite cartoon. That honor goes to Steven Universe, and my previous favorite, Invader Zim, remains in a firm second place. I think I'd rank Avatar and Korra over MLP as well. Not that MLP is bad, it definitely isn't, just that there are some shows I think are better.

I second Star vs probably being better than MLP, and I've yet to dig into Gravity Falls, but it probably is as well. I'm not trying to knock MLP, it's a great show, and sets a high bar for other shows to live up to. The fact that other shows exceed said bar is simply a testament to their greatness.

First 3 seasons of Spongebob is I will always love. There is so much good subtle humor that I never seen when I was younger and now it is hilarious. XD Plus that show was a big part of my childhood.

 

Scooby Doo Where Are You? is another one from my childhood that I still love today. It has such a simplistic charm to it.

 

Quite a few other cartoons I watched when I was younger haven't aged well sadly.
