I'm completely, hopelessly obsessed with the band "Gorillaz". <3 And Del tha Funkee Homosapien by extension.

I'm more of a House and Trance guy myself, both in the progressive setting. I love songs that have powerful beats and seem to hit you emotionally in a sense.

 

I also enjoy Smooth Jazz for calmer settings just to chillax.

 

Two more genres I enjoy listening to is Eurobeat and Eurodance. They were well known in the late 80s up to the end of the 90s. They portrayed songs of positivity, love, peace, dancing, partying, and even overcoming tough emotions. This genre was a big part of my childhood in the 90s, but I hadn't realized it until a few months ago when I rediscovered Eurodance that it was what got me to love House and Trance.

I am partial to classical, but I listen to a wide spectrum of music with a leaning towards electro swing and metal as secondary and tertiary to classical.

 

Brony music has no specific genres as it comes in many genres therefore some of it is better than others.

Video game music. (Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts) I mostly appreciate songs without lyrics as lyrics will often disrupt my thoughts.

 

Other than that, I appear to like some alternative rock and pop music. Coldplay is my favourite band in the entire world. Oh and erm... I'm kind of out of date. Music from the 80's and 90's will catch my interest.(Boy bands. <3 And the Spice Girls) I don't tend to even know what's playing nowadays or what's popular.

 

I'm also fond of anything that has pianos in it. The piano is my favourite instrument.

Other than the official MLP songs, I listen to bands that may loosely be called "Goth" though that is a bit of a garbage term since it covers a lot of different styles. Some of these aren't "goth" at all, just music goths listen to (I do not like songs just because goths do, but that's my scene so that's what I am mostly exposed to). I'll just name some bands/music projects:

 

The Cruxshadows, Bella Morte, The Last Dance, Voltaire, Ego Likeness The Birthday Massacre, Ayria, The Sisters of Mercy, The 69 Eyes, Nightwish, Abney Park, And One, Depeche Mode, Project Pitchfork, Rammstein, Rob Zombie, Switchblade Symphony, Lunascape, Apoptygma Berzerk, Hate in the Box, The Serpenteens, Carfax Abbey, In Tenebris...

 

There are more but those are the ones that jump into my head. Note: some of those bands are dead, but music outlives the band.
