  1. Ah, I knew I forgot to mention something about Tirek's comic! Tony Fleecs has come a long way since the RD Micro, and I'm sure he'll do nothing but improve even more from here.
  2. Those puzzle pieces are found individually in booster packs. So far I've found four.
  3. Despite not making any friends, Twilight didn't seem unhappy during her childhood, and we haven't see anything so far that implied Rarity had a bad childhood either.
  4. I got the Castle of Friendship card from a 3 pack blister in Wal-Mart, but the foils I got in the other blisters were seperate cards, like the promo foils from the previous two series. So, I have no idea what's going on with it.
  5. Back when the Micro Series ended, I made a thread to find out how people here would rank them, so why not do the same for the Fiendship is Magic series? 1. King Sombra - I was pretty surprised that the blandest villain of the show wound up with the best comic. Sombra desperately needed a backstory to make him interesting, and Whitley delivered a well-written story with great characterization for Sombra and the new characters introduced in it. 2. Queen Chrysalis - Fiendship ended on a great note. The mythological references in Chrysalis' past were great, and the origin of the changelings was explained perfectly imo. The only thing that kept it from being better than Sombra's was how OOC Rarity was. 3. Tirek - A good start to Tirek's backstory, but that's also the problem with the comic: it feels too much like the first half of a two-parter. I did love the details we got though, especially the part about Tirek's mentor Sendak. 4. Nightmare Moon - The basic premise had potential, but it ended up being a gigantic mess of plotholes and story points that don't make much sense. Also, I found Doran incredibly annoying. 5. The Sirens - Easily the worst. The Sirens had none of the chemistry that made them great in Rainbow Rocks. They felt like they were completely different characters. Starswirl suffered from the same characterization problem, and his actions were justified horribly.
  6. See, this is the type of quality I thought we'd be getting out of the Fiendship series. Great lore expansion and good storytelling. Aside from Rarity's poor characterization this was an overall great comic, I loved the mythological references in the issue. And I'm not really bothered by Twilight being fooled by Chrysalis, I've been waiting for a villain to use her good nature and willingness to believe villains can be reformed against her. And besides, with her actions in some of the previous comics *cough cattle rustler arc cough*, she deserved to be humiliated like that.
  7. Yeah, that one just missed being included in my list. I usually don't mind if an episode is kinda predictable, but that one is way too predictable, and not very funny. It was a very disappointing episode.
  8. I'll wait and see what the general opinion of this is before checking it out myself. I got bored of DBZ during the Buu saga and never got around to finishing it. Team Four Star's DBZA is way better anyway.
  9. The most universally hated ones are the RD micro (#2) Friends Forever #1, and The Good, the Bad, and the Ponies (main series 25 & 26). Opinions are more divided on Reflections (main series 17-20) and Root of the Problem (27 & 28). I'd recommend finding the free previews that EqD posted and deciding whether to read them or not based on what you see.
  10. I usually don't mind seeing it on pony related websites, but it can be used too much. And using offline is just begging to be labeled a weirdo the rest of your life.
  11. This was pretty pathetic. Just a poor man's Ponyville Confidential. And the ending was just horrendous. Glad I didn't waste any money on it.
  12. Honestly, no. If it were to switch from targeting girls to bronies it would lose what makes it so special. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  13. Honestly that was a pretty stupid idea, they would've run into each other at some point that night. But that whole comic was a pretty stupid idea, so I try to pretend it doesn't exist.
  14. Are you giving me the chance to rant about things I hate? I love ranting about things I hate! And because I love ranting about things I hate so much, instead of just ranting about the episode I hate the most, I'm going to rant about the five episodes I hate the most! Let's get started! 5. Games Ponies Play It's bad enough when one pony dumbed down for the sake of the plot, but when it happens to the entire main cast you wind up with the turd known as Games Ponies Play. Most of the jokes were cringe worthy instead of funny, and the character mix-up dragged on far too long. Overall I'd say this is the most boring MLP episode ever. 4. Testing Testing 1, 2, 3 I think this one is the one that will surprise people the most on this list. A lot of people enjoyed it, but as a Dash fan it drives me nuts. To me the idea that Rainbow Dash would know absolutely nothing about the history of the Wonderbolts is stupid. Before Read It and Weep it might have seemed like a reasonable idea, but since she got past the idea that reading is for eggheads, how do you justify her reading absolutely nothing about the flying group that she's idolized since she was a filly? She wasn't just a casual Daring Do reader, either. After all, we did see her having a fangirl fight with Twilight earlier that season in Daring Don't. I would think that the first thing she'd do after finishing the latest Daring Do book is head to the library and check out everything about the Wonderbolts. Also, Pinkie's Rap may be my most hated single moment in the show. It's definitely my most hated song. 3. Magical Mystery Cure This one isn't here because I hated the idea of Twilicorn and can't move past it. I liked the idea of Twilight becoming a princess. But this episode is one of my most hated because it's the most disappointing episode for me. It was hyped up for a while. It had a very interesting premise. It was going to feature one of the most important moments in the show. And it fell flat completely. For two reasons: 1. It was a musical. It doesn't help that it only had two good songs in it. The musical platform fucked with the pacing of the episode too much. Time that should have been used for regular dialogue was wasted by songs that took twice as long to move the plot along. For instance, Twilight went from singing about how hopeless the situation was to having the solution in an instant, taking away any tension and suspense and skipping straight to the resolution. 2. It was only one episode. This was a great premise, but it suffered from poor pacing, and just changing it from a musical to a regular episode probably wouldn't have been enough to let it live up to it's full potential. If they had used the three most important songs and followed the same formula as the two previous two parters, it probably would've been better than both of them. More time focused on solving the cutie mark swap, and more time focused on Twilight becoming a princess. 2. Rainbow Falls Another episode where everypony was written terribly out of character so the plot could work. Rainbow Dash is forced to learn about being loyal again, the Wonderbolts are forced into being villains and put in a plot where their presence just didn't make sense, and Twilight's nagging completely missed the point. 1. The Mysterious Mare Do Well Not really surprising when two of the other episodes I hate the most characterize Rainbow Dash poorly, is it? But it also deserves every bit of the hate it gets. Sure, Dash's ego being knocked up to 11 was annoying, but the thing that makes this my most hated episode is how the rest of the group decided to teach Rainbow a lesson. They completely stab her in the back, act like total hypocrites, and expect Rainbow to learn a lesson and go on with it. Let me tell you, if any of my friends treated me the way they treated Rainbow, I would never speak to them again.
  15. That one was well done. The Game of Thrones reference was about as subtle as a giant stick to the head.
  16. Pinkie Pie can be pretty funny when her obnoxiousness isn't dialed up to 11. She's been great in season 5 so far.
  17. All I could think was "Really? That's the best you can do?" Oh well. One reference falling flat isn't enough to ruin the episode for me.
  18. Yeah it's gotten off to a strong start but it's way too early to say it's going to be the best yet. We've got a while to go before we can start judging it against the other seasons.
  19. Season 5 has been off to a great start so far! I wasn't expecting much out of this episode, but it wound up keeping me laughing throughout most of it. That being said, I think the Game of Thrones reference was probably one of the worst the show's done.
  20. IMO a song in every episode does more harm than good. Songs should be a nice surprise that pop up once in a while, it makes them more special. That's what bugged me when the two parters had three songs in them, it got to be too much of a formula to follow and the quality of the songs and episodes suffered. In Our Town, Make This Castle a Home, and I'll Fly were good, but I'd appreciate a break for a few episodes.
  21. I'm definitely looking forward to this. I kinda wish they chose a different artist than Fosgitt though. I don't like his style, but as long as the story's good, it won't ruin the comic for me.
  22. Well, this ended up being one hell of a mess. Plotholes everywhere, continuity problems everywhere, unanswered questions everywhere. I don't see any real logic here at all. I thought that the writer of the Nightmarity arc would be able to give us a great NMM story, but I was wrong. I don't know, maybe by some miracle Cook and Price manage to come out of their slump and deliver a good issue again and Fiendship can end on a good note. Otherwise it'll go down as a depressing waste of potential.
  23. Comic authors have early access to plot points from the next season, don't they? That gives them the opportunity to hint at things like this. And considering that panel, Babs' cutie mark makes perfect sense.
  24. We're going to have to wait a little longer and see. If he's got the next two right I'll be willing to start listening to him.
