About personal "passive" shields: Shining Armor "City Shield" can withstand beings stronger than royal guards (changelings) smashing into it; while only allowing a train with ponies, cargo and a dragon to pass through with the assistance from the inside. Cadance "Health Magic Bubble" [s4E1] blocks entities based on the presence of pathogens inside them (Discord´s "blue flu" probably used real equestrian microbes [s4E20], he was already inmune to); with currents of water and air passing trough (but not sneezes with contaminated particles of water). Both spells do not need to be channeled continously (light horn); but instead require more magic; working by themselves for a fixed ammount of time. If you combine the strenght of the former with the "selectivity" of the latter, the "radar" part of the spell activates the shield at full power if something with a great kinetic energy is detected in a vector pointing towards the body. Since multiple bullets from diferent angles coming at the same time would be repeled by the same shield individually (each zone of the sphere having its own point-strength-resistance); forcing it to activate multiple times by shooting once every few seconds may depleate the magic it quicker. But also gives the protected inside time to react (even if the attacker is invisible), either by reinforcing/recasting the shield; flying/teleporting away, or just "blasting out everything around" to unconceal their location.

There is a difference between the "Element of Harmony" [rocks/gemstones] and the "Spirit of Friendship" [embodiments]. Celestia explained it to Twilight in Magical Mystery Cure [s1E13]; as being an alicorn is related to the magic of the emotions contained in the elements, but what she learned about what is necessary to be a princess came from the "old concepts" she and her friends developed trough their big adventures (and "slice of life" small tests) over three seasons: The same way; Sunset Shimmer´s "spirit" is Forgiveness ; while her "rock" probably is the old seed of Empathy ; (buried deep under the roots of the Tree of Harmony, the same way the Crystal Tree Castle of Concordia is over the new seed of Friendship).

That would be more ironic than poetic... The Occam´s Razor says three entities are more relevant than one; then there is no reason for the sirens to NOT create a world designed to show them why creating mistrust and animosity is not morally good (but do it with Sunset Shimmer because... why?). While the existence of "Principal Celestia" seems to defy common sense [the case for Luna can be handwaved as she was not "alive" on the moon, being instead fosilized dark regolith over the surface]. It would be rather curious WHY she was "born" in this particular era (instead of 1000+ years ago) just "to match" another background pony living near the mirror. - - - - Three inmortal weird girls doing "not much" for about 1000 years (without anyone noticing) it is hard to believe. Much more strange would be an explanation for the base of the portal of the horse statue to pop in the middle of... nowhere, USA [some tribe territory]; (unless C.H.S. is located in a small ancient city somewhere in Europe [Greece perhaps?]. ) The new trailers for EG3 shows raw equestrian magic opening "random natural portals" to other worlds (probably just to Equestria, somewhere in the deep of the Everfree Forest). The history book Twilight readed did not explained HOW Starswirl banished the sirens (in fact, it does not even acknowledge it "as a fact", but rather a mere rumor). The pictures vagely sugest the use of a big "air portal" sucking them alongside some clouds. But if he did not used the mirror, then they would not be humans on the other side... - - - - - My theory is that the mirror was "disabled" by Starswirl after banish them using it (so they could not come back, since the other world lacks of the right kind of magic to open natural portals). Then the (flashback) Sonic Rainboom of "Cutiemark Chronicles" [s1E23] not only unlocked superspeed for a blue filly pegasus, a "God Mode" for a purple filly unicorn, and reality warping for a pink filly earth pony; but it also reactivated the mirror. Since the mirror was forced to open without guidance, it locks itself to one of the many parallel universes who matched perfectly all sentient beings currently alive around it [this explains both "Principal Celestia" and the lack of parents for human AppleJack by "lack of divergence", instead of pure coincidence]. - - - - - In the movie "Equestria Girls", Celestia says: Princess Celestia: "Sunset Shimmer. A former student of mine. She began her studies with me not long before Twilight ... she eventually decided to abandon her studies and pursue her own path..." She never says "Sunset leaved Equestria before Twilight became my protegee"; because Sunset was just "another student" for her (if maybe the only one smart/advanced enough to need Celestia´s teaching). By investigating "the anomaly" of the Sonic Rainboom, Sunset found the reactivated mirror of Starswirl; thinking that maybe that great unknow burst of power could have come from the other side. The sirens of Rainbow Rocks are probably NOT THE SAME ones Starswirl banished from "Equestria Prime"; but dopplegangers sended there by another Starswirl from another parallel equestria

If you will take time to analize the size of the tatzlwurm... could you do the same for the "flower tree" of the same episode? How about inanimate objects? I would like to know the differences in size and weight of both wheel-less chariots used by Trixie in S3E05; in relation with the "standard" one of Twilight in S1E01 [or flashback in S2E25]; and the giant one of Discord in S4E11. Bonus points if you compare the Mustang of Flash Sentry in EG1; with the "Transformer/BassCannon" of Vinyl in EG2:Rainbow Rocks

You just described the other Sunset from the plot of EG5 (after the events of the MLP 2017 movie ended with the destruction of the Tree of Harmony and the reveal of the lost gemstone in the roots).

Even if he SHOULD be "written off" from FiM (I think is not the case)... How would you do it in a way that is believable? Without also removing Twilight alongside with him; or creating an horrible situation were she "does not need him anymore; so it [the dragon] has to get out of her life"; breaking then the same promise she did to him in two ocasions [in the Everfree Forest, after a "near death encounter" with a dragon, and later in front of "Sombra´s Door" after they experienced their worst nightmares]. The only thing I could reason is the Discord/Treehugger "random inaccessible dimension" venting Spike to an unknown somewhere/sometime (be it done by a villan as punishment, a freak magical natural ocurrence; or purely accidental side effect of something unexpected). Pulling an heroic sacrifice that does not technically involve "death" (age reversion into an egg, becoming a soul gemstone, one-way-trip to the distant past/future) in order to prevent some cosmic catastrophe; that would be a little too much for Spike to do on porpouse. In any case, the multi-year-long depression Dis-Astrae the Alicorn Twilight would become after that would progress into her personal "Start of Darkness"; forcing the series to end when her friends had no other choice but to stop her... IT WOULD NOT HAPPEN!

I have no idea why you quoted my "joke" post (were I was making fun of the idea of having to die first in order to "live forever"). Now, (because it is a pain to read it raw); I will take some time to properly format your post in a more legible way for others: Your understanding of the relationship between raw chemicals, their metabolites, the neutrotransmisors in the brain reacting to them and the construction of toughts is either incomplete or wrong. The idea of "decoding a personal tought" by mere observation is absurd. There is no universal, clear "output" for a brainwave related to an "specific concept" in the mess that is the mind of a single person (at most, you can know when some specialized part of the brain is active, but not "what is happening" inside it without also interfering with the tought itself). Uncertainty_principle Also, the same brain can hold multiple conciousness at the same time; flowing trough the same neurons and synapsis. It has being recorded for decades; but it was only recently scientifically proven with human adult twin siameses (sharing parts of their brains but still having different personalities). Is the neurological explanation behind the mere "psycological aspects" of multiple personality disorders; and the theorized background for the creation of Tulpae in neurotypicals. - - - Any kind of "chip" implanted on the brain (with the porpouse of interacting with the neurons at a logical level) would use the same resources available in the medium (ATP/glucose & oxigen) and would had to operate at the same voltages and currents already in the brain. There will be no porpouse for a "battery" or capacitor able to "buildup" a discharge great enough to generate any damage, [since the bloodflow should never stop in the first place, the device will never have a lack of "power supply"]. If some kind of conectivity with the outside world was desired (not necessary, since a "chip" can help to store and/or process data without the need of mainframe outiside the brain); it would be done with low frequency radio waves not in the range were water or fats could absorb their energy [to prevent screening]; with also makes imposible to "heat up" the brain the way old generation cellphones do with microwaves [designed to pass trough buildings]. A very short range (low power) router placed on the outside of the head will pick up the signals from inside, and transmit it then to other systems with a separate comunication protocol/carrier (most likely some common Wi-Fi).

New "main characters" in FiM is something that can not happen (because is a character driven show). Even if one of the V.A. leaves the show, they would be replaced instead of "putting in a bus" one of the main six (the "fix it at the ending" Coco Pommel´s help provided in "Rarity Takes Manehattan" [s4E08] is a borderline example of this). What is discussed here is alternative solutions for situations currently only the main six can solve (like the use of the Rainbow Power; considered by Luna as a way to do the impossible in "Do Princesses..." [s5E13] ). For example: If they were missing from Equestria for a fixed ammount of time (a journey to a far away land or CHS); then those who learned the "friendship lessons" necessary to forge the keys could posibly harness that power in their absence. This way Seabreeze and the other ponies would not be a "Deus ex Machina" (except maybe Discord, technically speaking [who knows his backstory?...]); but a carefully planned "backup" for a future story.

Because MOVIE-like hypnosis ("I have power over you! From now on, you are a fly. Go there and eat some shit")... ... Is NOT how REAL WORLD self-induced behavior works. A consent_based acceptance of previously considered ideas (from a trusted source), can only progresively ingrane new concepts into your subconcious if you allow it to happen (while mantaining a sustained trance-like state only you can start and stop) by your own free will. The pony hypnosis files contains some key words called "triggers" to make easier for you to initialize the start and stop sequences of the trance. You do not actually need to voice them (or even think those words) in order to do it, only willforce and awareness of the process is required. Is a matter of politeness to never mention [or write] the words in front of others; as their own inner desires to run the trance again (for relaxation if they are stressed) may conflict with the logistics of their current situation or future tasks.

The lesson for Luna is basically: "Your Past is not Today" ; making her a retroactive expy of Sunset Shimmer. Then "Gloom" for the Tantabus is the oposite of the "Seventh Spirit of Friendship": Forgiveness

There is nothing you can do to "physically" stop the Tantabus in the dreamscape. The problem is the shared dream on itself and The HUB that controls it. Did anyone noticed that "bubble" around Luna? If holding the shared dream was already stressfull for her; to the point she barely could close the "reality scars" [some bonus points to Rarity for being able to emulate that power with her unicorn sawing skills]; then why she would waste even more magic/focus in "protecting" herself? (this is more evident if "everything will be lost" and she feeled guilty about it; there is no point in saving herself) My headcannon is the Tantabus never actually escaped her mind [is a Tulpa of hers, it never had that power]; neither could "invade the real world" or other crap like that. It was just doing Luna a favor by forcing her to "face her fears" (deja vu to S3E06). The more likely posibility if Luna could not get her epiphany would be her getting trapped (alongside Ponyville) in an eternal sleep/nightmare; with the Tantabus "taking over her" as ... Nightmare Moon... again [she has being training that thing over and over to do just that, to the point LunaDream!Twilight lampshades that at the coldstart of the episode]. I found suspicious Celestia not being involved (or at least consulted) at all about this; because even if she had "no power", at least she could be with her sister on "those last crucial moments".

We are not that naive. The idea is not "becoming a computer"; but rather making a computer a "closer enough" facsimil of us, so everything that defines my ego survives; even if "me" (as myself) does actually not. Is not that different of having a child that you raise, educate and indoctrinate so it becomes "as closer as you" as posible; while also applying punishment and/or brainwashing to prevent lazyness (or free thinking) setting a career choice or other character defining aspect of their personality in a way you do not like. Doing it just after waking up is not recommended neither after being awake more than 14 hours, (or at any moment if your last sleep was shorter than 6 hours without interruptions); because you need to be as awake and fresh as posible to get in trance without falling sleep from the EXTREME relaxation it produces the first time. Eat something, take a shower, clean or do (some other recreational activity that requires little focus or concentration); when you get bored, prepare the enviroment like if you were about to study for a test.
