  1. Because it's funny. Also, can't let you do that, Jeeves.
  2. 247129 falls asleep on my keyboard
  3. *pulls back the curtains* I have arrived.

  4. 247125 I wasn't here a year ago, actually! I joined in October or November, I believe.

  6. Remember when Troblems locked this thread? That was fun.
  7. 247212 Thank you. The last time I was in here was when I was going by "Bow to the Rain". Good times.
  8. Actually, you'd be surprised at how often I've heard of people on these forums backing out of making posts because they feel they won't contribute or that it may come off as foolish. Whatever the reason, I encourage you to have faith that your words will be taken with warm reception.
  9. 247210 Man how long has it been since I visited this thread. Ages, probably.
  10. For some reason, "Beautiful Soul" by Jesse McCartney is stuck in my head despite the fact I haven't listened to it in months.
  11. Your patience is very much appreciated. Troblems is unfortunately busy, being the head of the RP staff, so I will attempt to take over for her temporarily, if you won't mind. I think the 'likes' section needs to have a bit of an expansion, personally. What it has right now is just 'he likes gems and peace'. I'm sure Garnet has more likes than that! The second paragraph of your personality only seems to have half personality. If it would make it easier on you, I would suggest attempting a third one so that you'll meet the personality minimum. Other than that, it's turning out marvelously and I would be happy to give it an initial approval once these changes have been implemented!
  12. I'd argue that it's not something to be proud of if "who you really are" is someone who has to try hard in order to be polite and respectful to other people. I understand the feeling of it all being forced, though. If you have a certain mentality an overdose of warmth can feel rather faked. To me, I feel that some of the disconnect that might take place in this community can be simply from how big it is. This isn't a tight-knit, closed group of friends; it's a bunch of people, likely primarily strangers, who are conversing about one show. This isn't ultimately a bad thing. Many of the people you know in your life aren't going to be very close to you. But in some ways it makes it difficult to latch onto people to become close to within the community. The best way to fit in in any situation is to be approachable and approach yourself.
  13. Hi there! A few things- These lines do not belong in the personality section; that's more of a historical event. Also, this sentence; must be removed. Your references to Ponyville within your personality field are confusing as they speak of it as if he doesn't live there, despite your history section saying that he does. In general, your personality section is a bit short, and when you bring up points of his personality (e.g. making people laugh) they aren't elaborated on much. An expansion would be recommended, if possible. Your characters backstory, while meeting the requirement technically is still quite short. You should consider adding more about him. That's my initial review of it. I'll look it over again when you've implemented these changes.
  14. i went to epic mafia by accident when trying to get to this site. goodbye brain

  15. I applied. At first I was considered too new but someone to keep an eye on, but they decided that we needed extra helping hands in the RP section, especially with people taking breaks from it, and now, here I am! The RP section tends to be rather quiet, but I hope to help out any way I can regardless.
  16. I listen to all sorts of genres - I pretty much like anything that isn't super slow moving, rap, extreme scream-o or dubstep. If you show me a song there's high chance that I'll like it. I have a hard time narrowing down my favorite music as a result. I like the song "I Made It" by Dead by April a lot, but my favorites tend to cycle around as the years go on.
  17. I believe that Sunset Shimmer has a really well done redemption arc. Yeah, she wasn't that great in the first movie, but in RR she was not only interesting but she played on a typical redemption trope but did it in a new, refreshing way. Instead of giving into temptation to go back to her dastardly ways, she stays unmoving and works to prove that she really has changed - and doesn't blame others for the suspicion and the distrust that they have in her, given what she's done in the past. Actions speak louder than words and Sunset Shimmer proves it.
  18. Spoilers in general are a pretty touchy topic on this forum. I have a thought that we really need an official policy for them.
  19. Be sure to read the description for forums that you're posting in to avoid this kind of confusion. If it doesn't increase in the forum, the text saying so will look like this: Post count will not increase in this section.
  20. To be honest, I feel like a lot of the things you listed in that first post are just random quirks to the character. Not every single bit of someone's personality has an explanation beyond 'they were born that way' or 'they grew up to be that way'.
  21. Good luck out there everypony! I'm out of town for Christmas. Have a merry one and happy New Year!

    1. Wingnut

      Wingnut

You have a merry one as well. :)

  22. Wow, I see how it is. (Seriously, though, changing SCS's name to Ayyy lmao is perfect.)

    roleplay world Advanced Roleplay?

If you find any elitism among the RP community, please let us know. It could, potentially, count as abusive behavior. The Advanced Roleplays are only meant to allow people to play with people who are closer to their own level and therefore, make their participation fun for them.
  24. You might want to read over your own posts. Also, you're kind of downright wrong in the video game department. If people who care about or want to work in the industry of video games weren't successful, we wouldn't have a video game industry, not to mention the fact that said industry is one of the most profitable of them all. Regulus is giving you sarcastic remarks because you're looking at video games as something that shouldn't be taken seriously, despite overwhelming evidence that video games are incredibly important to our economy. You're also using your "I was a firefighter" speech to excuse your obvious occupation elitism. Video games are a worthy pursuit, even if you don't personally think so, because of how many people who have needed them to dedicate their lives to. It's also ridiculous that you're making such comments in a thread about video games. What on earth did you expect? Did you expect people to just lie down and take the fact that you're basically calling their hobby pointless? You essentially walked in the lion's den and called the head lion fat, and then acted surprised when the lion attacked you.
  25. If you mean how have we been getting along, I would think we've been doing splendidly! I'm still growing used to my new role, but Spike is the same as he ever was - although sometimes he bows in my presence. It kind of bothers me, actually, but every time I give him a reminder he forgets... I've given up at this point... I have paid it a visit every now and again, although the books there don't belong to me and I don't take them outside of the library. Yes, there is no one staffing the place, but that doesn't mean that I get to stake claim on the property. That being said, I do like to read through the journals scattered about there. I'm a bit busy organizing my library in my new castle, so I haven't gone out to those books lately, though. O-oh... Haha... Can... Can you not do that? Please? I know I'm a princess, but...I'm hardly above it all... Whoa, whoa! Haha! I-I don't even know enough about being a princess to teach a student, let alone take one in indefinitely! I haven't considered it, no, and hopefully I don't have to any time soon... Also, as for the second question, I don't know if I could choose! I love so many different types of books! I think if I absolutely had to, I would pick educational books, specifically those focused on magic - the 'how-to-do-its', instructionals. I tend to learn the most from those.
