What are the top five qualities you look for in a friend ?
TopQuark replied to Kenshiro's topic in General Discussion
For me, friendship is just an arrangement of convenience. It just happens depending on your interests and history. I don't have the luxury of a wide selection of aquaintances, so I work with what I have. For example, two of my friends I've had since the first grade. Between then and the eighth grade, I made three more (two of them were lost). In high school, I made two more minor friends, and a wider range of aquaintances. At the end of the day, I only have three friends that I speak to casually, only two of whom I see on a regular basis. And that suits me just fine. To sort of answer the question, I roughly gauge friendship by whether or not it would be awkward to show up at their door. -

Have you ever stolen anything from a store?
TopQuark replied to Metallic Strings's topic in General Discussion
A pack of gum from the grocery store when I was about five. I didn't like the feeling, so I have never stolen from a store since. -

I'm just saying, what do you think is the first thing that the common man thinks of when "Voodoo" is mentioned? It has been portrayed as a religeon of "savages" for the last two centuries, and hasn't had much positive reprisentation. That leads most to dismiss it as illegitimate and "creepy".

Baha'i, as I was born into it, and its adherence to science reflects my beliefs. I present this quote; "The sciences and arts, all inventions, crafts, trades and their products have come forth from the intellect of man. It is evident that within the human organism the intellect occupies the supreme station. Therefore, if religious belief, principle or creed is not in accordance with the intellect and the power of reason, it is surely superstition." (‘Abdu’l-Bahá, The Promulgation of Universal Peace, p. 63) Also, Voodoo is an actual legitimate religeon that seems to have a bad reputation for being of the occult. There was a nice exhibit for it at the Royal Ontario Museum a while back.

Behold! The subject of your nightmares for the next year. I give to you, Mr. Blobby for the "Amiga", apparantly a sort-of Commodore.

When I was about seven, I woke up on the ground next to my bed with a headache. In retrospect, I realized that I must have fallen out of bed and hit my head on the metal chair that was next to it, and somehow managed to sleep through it.

Bruh... It's a cardboard circle with yellow and black paint. You can't get much simpler. -
What are you dressing as for Halloween?
TopQuark replied to Star Blossom's topic in General Discussion
I don't know where you people are living, but in my town, it's almost expected for people to do something for Halloween, even into their late teens. Even if it's not trick-or-treating, most at least get dressed up as something. Y'all need Zombie Jesus. -
Not one week-long operation in the hospital? No ill-concieved family camping trips were a raccoon stole the car keys, and you nearly start a forest fire trying to make a smoke signal to attract the park ranger? You never went out for night on the town, blacked out at around 1:00am after drinking a funny tasting margarita, and woke up three days later in some corn field in South Dakota wearing nothing but a bed sheet toga and a fanny-pack full of Pokemon cards autographed by Ozzy Osbourne? I find that life likes to throw you a curve ball every so often.

Is it good? I'm on a bit of a "human" binge right now, seeking out the best human fics. Everything I know about Transformers come from the new movies (minus the dinosaur one, which just looks silly) and a couple episodes of one of the old cartoons. Also, Weird Al Transformer.

Really. I would have thought that would be a popular MLP "reskin" theme. Oh no, I'm sure they would work out great. I just meant that I, personally, only like to read crossovers with things I'm familiar with. I know absolutly nothing about Gears of War, and I've never been huge on Transformers, though I know a bit about it. Speaking of Transformers, which rendition would you be using? From what I understand, there's the original cartoon, the new movies, some other side things, or even some home-baked cannon. I recently discovered Stardust, an XCOM: Enemy Unknown crossover. I only decided to give it a go because I remeber liking the game. I'm glad I did, because it is now my number one favourite fanfiction. I don't give out praise lightly, so that says alot.

Where does your writing skill currently stand at? If you believe that you still have a lot to learn, I would recomend starting with a few lesser ideas, perhaps with stock themes. That way, you can get a piece done, learn from any mistakes made, and not have to worry about tainting an idea that's precious to you. I know that I have several great stories that I want to get out, but am waiting to get a bit more experience in the field. As for the poll, I chose Horse, M.D. The only problems I can see is failing to differentiate from House enough to make it it's own entity (especially with the name Dr. Safe House) and the fact that there likely exist many similar such fanfictions, and might be buried. As for the others, I'm sure each has the potential to be good in it's own right, but unfortunatly do not align with my interests, so I don'tthink I should comment. My cup of tea when it comes to fanfiction is action/adventure epic (possibly cross-over) with a recurring romance theme, and preferably with humans involved. Also, the longer, the better; I rarley look at a fanfic with less than 100k words.

For her sakes, I hope that was either a veggie burger, or Twilight recently underwent some sort of gastro-intestinal metamorphesis. "Uh, Twilight. You, um... you see... the thing is, well, human burgers don't-ohhhh dear..." "What was that? I couldn't hear you over my chewing. This burger sure is greasy!"

I am answering these questions based on the assumption that you mean a pen and paper RPG such as DnD or Savage World. What races would you like to see? As many as possible, but definetly earth pony, unicorn, pegasus. Additionally, griffin, changeling, and buffalo/yak. Possibly alicorn, dragon and human if you could balance them. Would you prefer progession-style play(Making a character and leveling it up from 1-whatever), or one hitters(take a premade charactersheet/make a character, and just play one 3-4 hour session)? I would lean towards progression. What are THREE elements from the show that MUST be in the game? (Examples: silliness, puns, canon characters) I'm not exactly sure what you mean by this. Wouldn't it be up to the GM to encorporate such elements into the story? Would you rather have an original character, or play a canon character? A character creation system would be the most versitile, but also allow for the use of cannon characters if the player/GM is willing to balance them themselves. How do you prefer your coffee? (We have an ongoing argument and I need to win) I don't drink coffee, but if I desperately need the effects of caffine, I make a few milliliters of extemely concentrated coffee, then inhale the fumes. My general outlook on TTRPGs is that the story and interaction should take priority. If a mechanic or rule is getting in the way, get rid of it or make up a better one. "Modding" should be easily supported.
