  1. Yeah, ReBoot was great! I don't know about where you were, but in the UK they stopped airing it early, about 2/3 the way through season 3 because I think it was deemed by the powers that be to be getting too dark. I only recently even got to the actual cliffhanger. Great show, really was. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuEJWmxWkKw
  2. Really fun episode, I had to try and not choke on tea when it poked a jibe at jazz flute
  3. Another day over! Good night ponies. Sweet dreams!

  4. I'm sure I can think of a few, but when I saw the thread title I immediately thought of this: To quote Legendary Stardust Cowboy's Wikipedia entry for 'Paralysed': The track features unintelligible snarls, growls, and similar vocalisms, surrounded by frantic strumming on acoustic guitar, Burnett's equally frantic drumming, and occasional yelps of the song's title, "Paralyzed!" The exact words that are uttered change with each performance, and are occasionally somewhat intelligible.
  5. Thanks to all you staffy pones for making the server a cosy place Seriously though. Lovely people. Lovely server. It's been a long time since I've been on a server that I can call home!
  6. Well, this is still going, and as a reward in the name of my...um...persistence, here's a double whammy! For today's pickings, I chose movements from two of my favourite classical pieces that were composed by film composers, William Walton and Erich Korngold. Enjoy! Korngold Violin Concerto, 3rd Movement Walton Viola Concerto, 3rd Movement
  7. Quite right, I'd spend the day working on getting a visa That or I'd probably go and seek out Twilight, she would probably suggest something awesome to do that I wouldn't have thought of.
  8. Hey did you enjoy the music?

    MLP DVDs?

Thanks guys for the info, I consider myself thoroughly educated! I shall put your advice to good effect soon EDIT: I went with the first two series for now off of Amazon, I should be able to play region one DVDs...I think. Thanks again for the information, it was really helpful and informative!

    MLP DVDs?

Ah cheers for the replies! Don't worry, when I talked about stuff online, I did mean only by completely legal means. I saw seasons 1 and 2 on amazon UK (I'm from the UK) and 3 on the US, I'll have a good look around later this evening. Are 4 and 5 so new as to have not been released to DVD yet? And thanks for the warning Kyoshi...I did see some rather odd-looking compilations when looking around!

    MLP DVDs?

Just to assure you in advance, I have used the search function here on the forums and google and haven't been able to find what I'm looking for. Still, apologies if I have missed something blindingly obvious and/or am asking a stupid question...I'm kinda all new to this I've only seen a handful of episodes so far from MLP and I would definitely love to watch more at convenience. I'm someone who likes owning physical copies of things so if someone could point me toward a box set or at least some place where I can get hold of all the existent series I will love you forever! So far I've only found sporadic season DVDs, some of which I am unsure I could get easily in the UK. Failing that, if there's somewhere on the tinterwebs that hosts the episodes that would also be great. Thanks in advance!
  12. My condolences also. I know that it's painful, but I really hope you're able to find peace once the time for grieving is over.
  13. Hello and welcome to Mobley's Music Blog! My first blog in the history of the poniverse! Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. before we get started, I just want to say a word or to about why I decided to start this. I'm naturally quiet, and I usually have neither the energy or the courage to share things about myself. but I decided that here, in this community, I would try and be a bit different from my usual self. The trouble now is that most of the stuff I want to be able to share is incomplete. I love to write both stories and musical compositions which completed I would really like to share with you guys, but as someone who either gets distracted easily or gives in because of a perfectionist streak, I don't have anything of the sort on hand. Thankfully however, after some thought, I recognised that there was something I could share with you, my love of music, mainly classical. I thought that a little music video blog would be a great way for others to experience a side of me, and also perhaps might in turn give me the chance to learn about others. The first piece I wanted to share with you is the 5th movement of Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony I chose this piece for the feeling of hope that it gives me. When I came to this community I was, and am, at a difficult time in my life, but I was immediately bowled over by the friendship, support, and most importantly hope, that greeted me. I wanted to put this up for those who are also going through difficult times at present. It is a piece that, to me, expresses a deep feeling of hope, and assures me even when times are at their worst that there is a calm after the storm.
  14. Got given a widescreen by a friend...feel like I need Derpy's eyes to look at the forums!

  15. Hmm, like others I think I wouldn't leave the fandom...I've only just arrived and I still feel I have much good mileage in being a fan of the current generation regardless of what comes after. I don't particularly want after a darker iteration of MLP, I'm very much a fan of the lighter visuals, I think it enables the show to deal with interesting stuff while remaining cheerful and appealing.
  16. Currently I'm playing Styx: Master of Shadows and failing hard at stealthing...F5 is my best friend
  17. Day-to-day, Dowe Egberts instant, white but strong with no sugar is my coffee of choice, but I'm generally not fussy
  18. Thanks guys for the replies, some interesting suggestions... I would never have thought of a fruit company. I wonder what the veggie options at MacDonald's are like these days. My choice, going off a list of things that appear in the show, revolves has to revolve around cake 1) I live near a nice cake shop called Slattery which also has a tea room: I would definitely take my herd of ponies there. 2+4) No contest, I would call on Pinkie Pie in the hopes of good company and sampling her baking! 3) If I were cooking, I would do vegetarian lasagne plus salad for main course, followed by apple crumble with custard, and washed down with plenty of cider and\or still lemonade.
  19. Bear in mind however that the ponies who are self-employed will also have to factor in expenses...farms I think would be pretty expensive to run so AJ might not be as well off as she might appear at first sight. I can't speak for Rarity because I've not seen a single episode with her yet, but tailors aren't always particularly well off unless they get lucrative commissions. Twilight may be in the most advantageous position of the mane 6, probably gets some form of non-taxble stipend. Traditionally titles come with land and so there are a variety of ways that she could make some dosh from it through leasing or working it. That's not to mention the other tax exemptions she might get for being royalty. Plus she still seems to work, so there may be even more money in her coffers. Not to mention all the things she can claim back on working for the government To round off, I can't give figures, but I reckon Twilight is the richest, followed by Rarity and AJ. If Rainbow Dash is employed directly to clear the skies then she may well be next, maybe with some nice packages attached. Pinkie next for the baking, supplemented by the party organising (I imagine because it seems pretty homebrew that she could get away with a little undeclared income...) Followed finally by Fluttershy. EDIT: I stand corrected about Rarity. Cheers Ribbonfree
  20. Happy Sunday everypony!

    1. Chip Circuit

      Chip Circuit

Yay Sunday!... wait no boo Sunday, last day of the weekend :P

  21. Twilight: violin. Reasons: Close to my heart. Adaptable, can be bright or sombre, simple and or showy, and has one of the biggest and most developed repertoires of any classical instrument. An instrument that rewards you if you treat it right and works with you; sort of goes in my mind with Twilight's friendliness. Can you tell what instrument I play?
  22. Hmm, even with the catch I would still go with the pony. Twilight would still be Twilight after all. I wonder what sort of horse she'd appear as, but that's something for another thread!
  23. Ponies are on my mind, of course!

    1. Kyoshi Frost Wolf

      Kyoshi Frost Wolf

      Ponies on the brain. :o

  24. Imagine a group of your favourite ponies turn up at your door one evening and ask you if you know a nice local place to get some dinner, where would you take them? (Bear in mind pony dietary requirements!) Vice-versa, if you landed in Equestria one day where would you go and with whom for a meal? If you opted for eating in and had to cook\provide drink, what would you make for the visitors? And if you were at your favourite pony's house, what would you like to be on the table? I'm genuinely curious
  25. Ooh, I would firstly do my best to help the injured pony with all the love and care in th world, whether the hurt was either slight or grievous, while probably trying to put on a brave face and not burst into tears If I had to deal with the perpetrator, there are really one of two ways it could go: 1) If it was all an accident, I would politely take their details down so I could sort things out at a better time when everyone has calmed down. 2) If it was on purpose, I would be completely aghast as to why they would do such a thing and demand to know the (wholly insufficient) reason. I would then proceed to crush them, drive them before me and hear the lamentation of their women. To round it all off, I would go find Pinkie Pie as she wouldn't fail to restore everyone to cheerfulness; Twilight, myself and whatever is left of the perpetrator. Everyone is happy. ...I thought about that way too much
