This is almost certainly G4.5. There doesn't appear to be any change in setting or characters, and given the 2021 movie that will presumably start off G5, this seems like something to tide us over until the next generation begins. -

22 months away! I wonder if anything will happen between now and then. I hope it improves on areas the last movie didn't do so well in (I still liked it overall though). -
I'm pretty agnostic, but I tend to believe that consciousness is a fundamental constant of the universe, like energy, which cannot be created nor destroyed. This would mean that it has no starting or stopping point, and thus the concepts of 'birth' or 'death' are invalid. This doesn't mean, however, that one's identity or memories, or even "soul" is kept intact, just that the consciousness of what was once you is now observing a completely separate reality. I have complex views. Let's just say that

Starlight was great, Cozy Glow was an epic villain (the scene where she took on all the chaos energy and became giant was hilarious), and everyone from every species coming together at the very end was terrific. I wasn't expecting the hippogriffs and Tempest there too, it really was everyone. Although I do wonder how necessary it was for everyone to come, given how it really just took the Mane 6 and there laser beam to defeat the villains. Speaking of which...I was hoping there wouldn't be a laser beam or any other cliche moments, like Twilight's speech there at the end, but it didn't ruin it for me. I wasn't sure how I felt about the 3 antagonists "spreading rumors" among the different ponies distrusting each other...would they really have been so influential so quickly and easily? Discord being Grogar was poor writing. Why not just have Grogar actually come back and free the other villains? It doesn't make sense that it would have had to be Discord. It wasn't the best finale, but it was passable for the last season. 7/10 -
It's over. IT'S OVER. Wow. No more G4, all 222 episodes have aired. My life was completely different when I started watching this show back in '15. I'm so glad we came so far :') it's gonna take me a while to process this

One of the only times I've cried during this show was when the song start playing. God, that really hit a soft spot. It's half-amazing, half-torture to watch a timeskip of your favorite characters change them. Twilight's and Spike's new designs alone were enough of a shock. I do kind of wonder if G5 will begin where G4 ended, much further in the future and involving different ponies while still remaining in Equestria. And maybe the old characters will pop up in the background occasionally. Idk how I'm gonna handle the wait. Oh man...it's hurts to see it end after years of watching it, but at least this episode gave it closure. -
Hugging fursuiters. Acquaintances/friends inviting you to dinner with them. I know how small those things seem, but for someone who's dealt with social anxiety for years those things are HUGE. It's all those little things that add up into one huge memory.

@Varrack I'm from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I've been able to attend Everfree NW and BABSCon each once, so it's not too bad. Bronycon was just at the wrong side of the continent for me.

Spring Breakdown ended in a bit of a cliffhanger; they're going to have to pick up where it left off, with Sunset figuring out how to get the students who were on the cruise back to the school. I think the "finale" is going to involve a stronger connection between the two world's. Obviously many of the humans in the EQG world are aware of Equestria now, so maybe they are going to have an identity crisis realizing that reality wasn't quite what it seemed.

Terrific episode - I watched it with some friends when I was at EFNW 2019 last weekend. The song was brilliant - I've already saved some remixes of it on youtube. The fact that they kind of had this love/hate relationship with working as a team makes it just fascinating. It makes me really curious what's going to go down between them and Grogar...if they end up siding with the ponies in order to take him down or if their group collapses to infighting and Grogar ends up trying to conquer Equestria himself. -
