food What was the last food you ate?
Dreambiscuit replied to ManaMinori's topic in General Discussion
I'm having a Southwest Chicken Wrap from the deli, and a Dragon Fruit Mountain Dew. -
Me too! Me too! Both of you.

This seems to cover it.

general What was in your mailbox today?
Dreambiscuit replied to Dreambiscuit's topic in General Discussion
I got a Southwest Art magazine. -
It's in the upper 60s right now here in Anaheim. Clear skies, not that you can see much with all the delicious light pollution, but there is a star or two. It's a very comfortable night.

What was the last thing you drank?
Dreambiscuit replied to Caramel Monsoon's topic in General Discussion
Mountan Dew Dragon Fruit flavor. I don’t usually do the Dew, but this is Dragon Fruit, I can’t say no to that! -
When I got home from the doctor this morning my mom made me a beautiful fried egg sandwich with sausage and some watermelon cubes on the side. It was so yummy and comforting I almost cried from happiness.

mega thread How are you feeling?
Dreambiscuit replied to Rift enchanted's topic in General Discussion
Meh. I received a vague message from my doctor’s office suggesting that I have an appointment for surgery on October 17th. Under the circumstances I don’t know if I can handle waiting that long. I’ll probably have to call them in the morning and see if they can move the date up a bit. Otherwise I’m fine-ish I guess. -
I went to the doctor this morning, then came home, ate breakfast and went to sleep till dinner time. Now I’m catching up with my computer stuff.

How much money have you spent today?
Dreambiscuit replied to Reecejackox's topic in General Discussion
I spent about $35 as a deductible at the doctor’s office. I still don’t know what that’s supposed to mean but it’s just another cash grab that I had no choice but to pay. -
I’m one of those people who like the lights off when the TV is on. To me, it would be like having all the lights turned on in a movie theater when I’m trying to enjoy a movie. It’s a distraction. As long as I can see my surroundings I can’t be adequately unaware of them, and that is a detriment to my viewing experience when I’m trying to forget the world and disappear into my movies, shows or whatever. I. Don't. Like. Light.

What's your favorite season and why is it fall?
Dreambiscuit replied to Fluttershutter's topic in General Discussion
Fall isn’t my favorite season but I do appreciate the cooler temps after a long hot summer and doing work in the heat and humidity. The shorter daylight hours are also a huge plus. I’m not a daylight sort of person so the more nighttime we get the more I like it. -
What song best represents your current mood?

Here's a nice little ditty. -
This list is in order of favorites as far as I can figure. It may exceed the recommended number of films but I can’t omit any of them. Return of the Jedi (1983). This will represent all the category of Star Wars movies for me, and is my favorite of them all. Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). This will similarly represent the entire Indiana Jones category and is my fave of the bunch, Beauty and the Beast (1991). This is the animated Disney film, not to be confused with any other incarnation. Tangled (2010). The best of all CG style Disney films. Your Name (2016) One of the most compelling and ingenious movies I've ever seen. And the best anime ever. The Incredibles (2004). This is my favorite Pixar and will cover all in that category. Aliens (1986). The best of the Alien franchise (of which I only recognize the first two movies anyway). The Sound of Music (1965). This is the archetype of a perfect movie in every way. North By Northwest (1959). The best Hitchcock movie and one of the greatest of all time in any category. Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977). Spielberg at his best. Jaws (1975). Simply perfect for what it is. Why Worry? (1923) This is my favorite Harold Lloyd movie and represents his entire body of work, which is essentially perfect from end to end. Conan the Barbarian (1982). This is the Arnold Schwarzenegger version of course and refers to the original theatrical version and not the re-cut ‘special editions’ made for dvd releases.

mega thread Last Movie You Watched?
Dreambiscuit replied to GrooveBroove's topic in Media Discussion
Nobody 2 (2025) Fun and entertaining. A little spoofish and over the top at times but overall I liked it. It needed better tag lines than “F*** You” and F*** off.” 7/10 Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (2009) I was watching this in the hospital and it gave me some much needed distraction, so that gives an already good movie and extra boost. This was one of my favorite of the Harry Potter books and it made a great movie too. 8.5/10 Pacific Rim (2013) This is one of my stand-by favorites when I just want to relax and soak up some action. Solid movie, doesn’t overdo the plot or the drama, and is lots of fun. 8.5/10 -
What’s My Line? from the ‘60s was pretty solid and had a good host with a good panel of semi celebrity guests. To Tell the Truth was another good show, in its original and newer incarnations, but I like the older ones better.

animation Longest Anime You've Watched?
Dreambiscuit replied to Fluttershutter's topic in Media Discussion
Gun Gale Online. It had three fairly lengthy seasons. Also, A Certain Scientific Railgun, along with A Certain Scientific Accelerator. There are other related series to Railgun but I’ve only watched the aforementioned two. Both Sword Art and Railgun had three long seasons and went on longer than they needed to. Rent-A-Girfriend was somewhat lengthy and now has another season which I’m about to embark on but haven’t started yet. These don't even come close to a lot of the ones mentioned in this thread, but I don't often stick with one anime for a very long time unless it's beyond outstanding. -
What's the worst start to a vacation you have had?
Dreambiscuit replied to Reecejackox's topic in General Discussion
My first trip to Walt Disney World in 2013. The flight was delayed, and our hotel (which was advertised with beautiful photos taken when it was new back in 1975) was now an infested uninhabitable dump. We had to look for another hotel, without a reservation, and all the ‘fancy’ local resorts looked just as bad as the first dilapidated one. Finally looked for on-property Disney hotels, getting lost in the messy Disney highway system, and all hotels were booked until we finally lucked out on our fifth try, but with a pretty expensive room. By then it was late at night and we couldn’t get to any of the parks, most of the restaurants were closed and we ate vending machine snacks. We didn’t know our way around the vast, needlessly convoluted and poorly laid out Disney World complex, and we were exhausted. Even the fridge in out room was taped off with a notice telling us it was not to be used. After that initial experience it was a great vacation, but a very bad start.
