I’ve recently added another to my original list, and that’s Dan Da Dan. It’s the most eccentric mess I’ve ever seen and addictive as can be. I can’t wait for the new episodes coming this summer.

Nope, I don’t watch him and never have. I don’t watch much TV of that type at all. Someone once told me a method for calming a crying baby, and that info supposedly came from Dr. Phil, but it was second-hand info and that’s as close as I ever got.

mega thread Last Movie You Watched?
Dreambiscuit replied to GrooveBroove's topic in Media Discussion
Passion of the Christ (2004) Powerful and beautifully told, with good direction and performances. Hard to watch because of the intense and painful subject matter, but beautiful in relating the ultimate message. 10/10 The Great Train Robbery (1903) It’s just a 12 minute movie so I don’t even know if it counts as a movie, but that’s how it’s often categorized so I’ll run with it. For one of the earliest films it actually holds up pretty well. I’m not saying it’s perfect but it does manage to tell a story in a short time and even throw in some decent camera work here and there. The hand-tinted frames add an interesting bonus to the production. 6/10 Field of Dreams (1989) Overall a pretty good movie. It’s best when it sticks to the subject of baseball without deviating into realms of politics. I think it’s amusing and absurd when they typically caricature anyone who doesn’t see eye-to-eye with the hippy stylings of the ‘60s as clueless imbeciles who can’t wrap their minds around the ‘wisdom’ of human degeneration. But aside from that, the story is strong and has some good dialog, especially James Earl Jones’ speech about baseball, which kind of renders the film’s own aforementioned philosophies moot. It’s nice to see Burt Lancaster making an appearance too. 7/10 -
What should my band name be?
Dreambiscuit replied to cheezy and the crackers's topic in Media Discussion
Down Goes Hollywood is interesting and has something to say. That's what makes a good name memorable, at least to me. -
I’ve always minimized use of my phone. I never even wanted a phone at all except for use in emergencies, but alas, the world seems to require apps for everything now so I had no choice but to play their game. But I’ve never changed the fact that I watch movies on my TV, from dvds or in some regrettable cases, streaming services over a Fire TV stick. I don’t play games, but if I did, it would be on my old PS4 console. Aside from MLP Forums I don’t have social media and most basic stuff like checking email is done on my laptop. Most times my phone remains turned off. I don’t like phones and I minimize use of it as much as possible.

Which juice do you drink for breakfast?
Dreambiscuit replied to Bowser's topic in General Discussion
I drink Diet Cola juice. -
I trimmed my hair about five weeks ago, so maybe I’ll give it another trim in another week, maybe two.

general Last person you saw today so far
Dreambiscuit replied to Sondash Studios's topic in General Discussion
I saw my sister. She’s staying at my apartment for a few days and I saw her before she went to bed a little while ago. -
Favorite Universal Studios Rides and Attractions
Dreambiscuit replied to Snoopy Fan's topic in General Discussion
To be honest I haven’t been to Universal since I was very little. And most of the really cool stuff was added since then. I’d love to comment but my knowledge is limited to Youtube videos. I always go to the Disney parks instead, although I should expand; there are plenty of reasons to do so. -
Do You Have Fairylights, LED, Disco Balls, etc.?
Dreambiscuit replied to EtchASketch's topic in General Discussion
I have so many lighting novelties at home! They include a string of blue fairy lights around my desk, a set of colored motion activated lights in my bedroom, a toilet light (yes, you heard correctly, and I got the idea right here on the forums!) I have colored lighting pole (like the one @Snow posted a pic of), a lava lamp (purple with white wax), four neon decorations (Moon, Saturn, Cross and Soda sign), and a planetarium with assorted discs. Atmospheric lighting is so important to a contented frame of mind. I also have an ‘auxiliary’ Christmas tree which is compact so I put up intermittently from August to March. You just can’t beat Christmas lights. -
I had a dream in which I was sitting in the cab of a large truck, in the passenger seat, with a girl (about 7 years old) in the drivers’ seat, stopped at an intersection and watching a parade go by. In the dream, inspired by the parade, I started singing ‘Prince Ali’ with great enthusiasm, imitating Robin Williams flawlessly (within the limits of my feminine vocal cords). I was quite proud of myself but the girl I was sitting with was patently unimpressed. That left me a bit crestfallen, but I guess that’s how it goes. I’d better dream up a more appreciative audience next time.

I bought a Jasmine plant a few weeks ago and miraculously it’s still alive and even sprouting flowers. Maybe the fact that I more or less stay out of its way has given it the best chance at thriving.

mega thread How are you feeling?
Dreambiscuit replied to Rift enchanted's topic in General Discussion
At the moment I feel better for being here on the forums and relaxing for a trice. Otherwise I feel like I could jettison my birthday cake at any moment. Something stressful has reared its ugly head. I just want to get through the rest of the week without any mishaps. -
Being here on the forums made me happy. Lots of very lovely birthday wishes and hanging out with my pony friends.

I hope for peace. I just want lasting peace and balance in life.

Which MLP Characters Do You Relate To?

@Dawnshine Wonder Seems to me that the Rarity dialog you wrote fits her well. I can easily imagine her saying that; it feels right and natural. I wouldn’t change it at all. -
Favorite Disney Park Rides and Attractions
Dreambiscuit replied to Snoopy Fan's topic in General Discussion
Magic Kingdom Parks: Star Tours: I prefer the original one to be honest, but I love the new variations as well. Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye: What can I say? It rocks. People Mover: Gone from Disneyland but still lives on in WDW. Skyway: Also gone, as part of Paul Pressler’s infamous purge. Carousel of Progress: Still hangin’ in there at WDW, and still delivering that priceless vintage Disney magic. Haunted Mansion: Perfect and mostly uncorrupted. Pirates of the Caribbean: Only the absolutely original version. Matterhorn: Still perfect and still unique to Disneyland. Space Mountain: Original, before the music and theming changes. Big Thunder: Timeless classic. Splash Mountain: Back when it WAS Splash Mountain and not that lame Tiana thing. California Adventure: Twilight Zone Tower of Terror: Accept no substitutes; the Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout is an unnatural refit just to cash-in on Disney’s Marvel properties and it sucks. The Original version is glorious. Epcot: Spaceship Earth: A classic for a reason. Mission: Space: Orange or green queues; both are great. But I still like the previous Mars incarnation more than the flight over the earth. Frozen Ever After: They slam-dunked this one. I liked the (former) Maelstrom ride but I’m happy to give credit when they do a replacement right. Animal Kingdom: Kilimanjaro Safari: Just plain fun, informative too. Expedition Everest: Try this one at night, in the rain if they’re running it. It’s insane. Hollywood Studios: Tower of Terror: Still the original, I believe…I hope. I could yammer all day on this subject, but I’d better rope it in and limit this to my ‘short’ list. -
general When did you start watching MLP?
Dreambiscuit replied to Gamer98's topic in General Discussion
I believe it was October 15th, 2011, with Lesson Zero. I joined it in-progress about five minutes into the episode while channel surfing. You just never know when something life-changing is going to happen. -
I’ve heard of it but that’s the extent of my knowledge. I know pickles pretty well, but pickle ball, no.

I have Pegasister moments all the time. I don’t really think about it much because I’m not self-conscious about it. I used to wear ‘Derpy Lives’ t-shirts when I went on vacation (back when Derpy was ponysona non grata) in hopes of eliciting a response, and I got plenty of them. I have pony stickers on my old phone, which never raised an eyebrow. I have pony art in my office at work, and I make no secret of my love of the ponies. No one really cares and why should they? I don’t know if it’s less of an issue because I’m female, but even if I wasn’t I would revel in the notoriety of being exactly who I am and let the world beware. I make a spectacle of myself often enough so maybe I’m just anaesthetized to the responses of others, but again, I’m cool with it regardless.

Which MLP Characters Do You Relate To?
Dreambiscuit replied to EtchASketch's topic in General Discussion
I relate mostly to Rarity, in general character because I like her style, elegance and generosity. I share a degree of Pinkie Pie’s energetic joy and enthusiasm, and some of Twilight’s intelligence and curiosity. I can’t say I mimic all these traits, but I admire them. So here’s a rundown: Rarity: 50% Pinkie: 20% Twilight: 20% With loyalty, kindness and diligence rounding out the remaining 10%. That’s my list of personal ingredients on a good day. -
I wore a pale grey t-shirt with a Star Wars Stormtrooper on it, stretchy jeans and white socks with little pandas on them.
-
I like orange because it tastes good, looks pretty and doesn’t leave as bad a stain on my tongue as grape. Which would be my second choice.

As far as I can remember I never really had any real online friends until I came here to the MLP Forums. All my online friends are here. Some have come and gone, but in some happy cases old friends have returned after prolonged absences. Some may be gone for good but I always hope they’ll return. I don’t think of any of them as ‘disappearing’ exactly; just taking a break. So maybe I’m an optimist but I don’t really think anyone has truly disappeared.
