  1. I’m waiting for my colonoscopy on Thursday. Yup, I said it here out loud and for all to hear. I have something wrong with my digestive tract and I need to get to the ‘bottom’ of things. Hey, I might as well be humorous about these things, even if I am the butt of my own jokes. (See what I just did there?) Okay, I’m gonna stop now before I make an ass out of myself.
  2. What articles of jewelry do you like to wear? Do you have favorites that you always wear or do you like to change your line-up from day to day? What are your favorite pieces of jewelry, and what types of jewelry do you like best (necklaces, bracelets, earrings, watches, anklets or maybe something else)? Do you like to wear a lot of bling or just a little something as an accent? Tell us all about it and feel free to show pics!
  3. I was transferring all my files from one computer to another. My old computer is dying so I’m trying to rescue what I can and transfer them to something a little more stable. It took forever and I’m still not 100% there. Gosh I hate technology.
  4. It’s all a matter of personal taste. I’ve seen all kinds and there are no rules except making it a good personal fit for the person wearing it. Neither the wedding nor engagement ring needs to be more expensive than the other (or expensive at all). My mom’s engagement ring is much fancier than her wedding ring but personally I prefer the wedding ring to be the more elaborate of the two because it represents the actual marriage whereas the engagement ring is basically a placeholder to let everyone else know that the wearer is spoken-for. As far as the design, that’s entirely up to the individual. Some like gold, some like silver, some like diamonds and some like other stones mixed in. I didn’t want gold tone for mine and preferred silver or white gold. My wedding ring is white gold with a solitary diamond. It has a simple look and I like it that way. Simpler wedding bands in gold or silver are very popular because they do the job without breaking the bank and they still have all the same meaning. I often think the less elaborate the ring the more meaning there is behind it because it’s more about content than being showy.
  5. I had two days all to myself and it was so therapeutic. I got so much done and my stress levels dropped. I am so grateful for those days.
  6. I don’t have a cover on mine. I like the idea of the added comfort and prettiness but I also like to know how clean the seat is. I have a plain old white wooden toilet seat with no embellishments. A glow-in-the-dark toilet seat?!?! That is MAGIC!! I want one!!
  7. The pc version sounds good but I doubt I'll ever get a game to play on my pc (it crashes just from opening my email!) As for the jetpack and Boba Fett boss, I still have nightmares about trying to beat that horrible battle.
  8. Honestly I don’t see any difference between the two. I have tons of each and there is no discernable improvement from Blurays over DVD. Blurays sometimes have a few more extras, which is just a way of getting people to spend more and promote that format, but unless you’re really into the bonuses they aren’t worth the difference in price. One big difference I have noticed is that Bluray doesn’t work as well as DVD; Blurays take longer to load and are more difficult to navigate. For the difference in price I’d rather have the DVD. Keep in mind that if there is any difference in quality it only matters of you have a TV up to the task of displaying it.
  9. I have lots of old cassettes of every kind. It’s what I grew up with and they were fine at the time. But to be honest, they have their drawbacks, as do the machines that play them. I can’t begin to count all the tapes that have been chewed to pieces by faulty players. And the players that supposedly flip from Side A to Side B automatically NEVER worked. Car cassette decks were especially notorious for getting confused as to which side of the tape to play and, when they get confused they simply don’t work at all. Don’t get me wrong, I have great nostalgia for cassette tapes and still have all my old pre-recorded and home-recorded cassettes. They may not be perfect, but neither are CDs for that matter. Oh yeah, I forgot, no one seems to use CDs anymore either, Oh well.
  10. The Mask (1994) I haven’t seen this movie in years and it held up well. There’s nothing like Jim Carrey at his zany best, and this cartoony gag-fest is a perfect fit for him. Howl’s Moving Castle (2004) This was the first anime movie I ever saw, back in the day, and it’s responsible for the love affair I’ve had with anime ever since. This movie is a masterpiece; one of Hayao Miyazaki’s best movies, and I enjoyed it so much I couldn’t even do anything after I watched it except stare into space in a transport of joy and pure inspiration. Perfect movie. Xanadu (1980) Umm, okay, what do I say about a movie like this? It’s unique, I’ll give it that. I guess it’s one of those movies that absolutely perfect for a certain mood; a mood which only comes up once every blue moon. This movie was not a success at the box office, and that’s to be expected of such an anomalous piece of work, but honestly it is worth the ride. I have to admit that I love this movie; it has so much going on in terms of talent and originality. Most people are inclined to write it off because it doesn’t fit into any known category, but that’s part of what makes it great. It’s a true original loaded with great songs, dancing, a cool animated sequence provided by Don Bluth (Secret of NIMH) and the only example of 1940s Big Band music being seamlessly melded with 1980 rock & roll. It also doesn’t hurt that it features Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly. Yes, absolutely! I LOVE the Barbie animated movies and have watched them all dozens of times each. They're among my favorite movies because they are written better than most animated movies which get more exposure due to their bigger budgets. But the Barbie movies have the content and the heart. The songs are great, the performances supurb, and there are over 40 of them to keep you entertained for a long time. They're infinitely rewatchable too.
  11. ^This, this, this!^ Thank you foor saving me a lot of typing by articulating this so perfectly. I agree with you 100%
  12. I'm using a very bad Dell Lettitude laptop, on Windows 7. This computer is dying. Better off dead.
  13. I live and breathe all things Star Wars…except games. Still, I have played a few over the years, but most are older games. The ones I recall are: Star Wars Arcade (arcades only, but GREAT game), Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (Atari), Shadows of the Empire (N64), Star Wars Episode I Racer (N64), Jedi Power Battles (Dreamcast), Star Wars Demolition (Dreamcast), Star Wars Starfighter (XBox), Star Wars Battlefront (PS4). There may have been others, but these are the only ones I can remember off the top of my head. The original arcade game is my favorite ever. Shadows of the Empire was fun-ish (the Gall level was ridiculously hard). That game had some serious frustration issues involved. Episode I Racer was the best racing game of any kind I ever played; loads of fun. Starfighter was a big favorite; it had the perfect concept; fly ships and shoot stuff. Very simple and very satisfying. Battlefront wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be, for me anyway. It had its points but overall it didn’t deliver. But I can be hard to please when it comes to games. Now if you want to talk about Star Wars non-video games, I can go there.
  14. I have a Moto-G Power (2020 version). I chose it for its long battery life and bought it because now, with everything on earth running on some silly app, I can’t eat, drink, sleep or flush a toilet without one of these. This is the first and only smartphone I’ve ever had.
  15. A few specifics: Flynn Rider (Tangled), Nick Wilde (Zootopia), Taki Tachibana (Your Name),
  16. Adam-12. Yup, the cop show from the late ‘60s-early ‘70s. I watched every last episode on re-runs when I was little and it still holds up okay. It’s nothing brilliant and there are absolutely no surprises whatsoever. Most of the scripts seem to have come out of a bin of random submissions, but it’s harmless and easy to watch.
  17. Big Mac x Marble Pie. There's no proof they're related, so there's no solid counterarguement.
  18. I call the foyer ‘the entry’ (brilliant!), the living room the ‘therapy zone’ (inspired!) and the bathroom ‘the regrettable bullet’ (umm…)
  19. Mayo for me please. Miracle Whip is way too sweet for me. It tastes too much like candy on my food. Candy is for dessert, not the main course, or salad course (even though it calls itself ‘dressing’).
  20. Crime scares me. It disgusts and scares me. Having no control over my own existence scares me. I don’t like putting anything into human hands other than my own. Car trouble. Specifically, getting stranded somewhere without means of rescue. Spiders, snakes and crawly things. ‘Nuff said.
  21. If I was single and dating, I consider dating to be a prelude to marriage and not a casual thing for the fun of it. That being said, if I was dating, with an eye toward the long haul, the candidate would have to have the basic fundamental attributes that I value. I would encourage the same point of view to anyone interested in me, because if two people are opposed on the most basic levels they won’t last as a couple. “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” But also consider the actual meaning of athiesm and secularism. Athiesm is a lack of religious belief although it’s more often twisted into something less un-religious and more anti-religious. If I was involved with someone who simply had no religious beliefs I’d offer them the opportunity to know what they’re missing. It’s possible they simply don’t have enough information to make a decision on the matter and would be open to it if inclined. But someone who is against religion would be of no interest to me as a potential partner. Secularism is simply a worldly view of things that doesn’t involve religion. It has no standpoint for or against it; it’s simply separate. Again, someone brought up in a strictly secular environment may simply be unqualified to make an informed decision about something they have no knowledge about. Once informed, they may or may not be open to it. This is a deciding factor. Someone possessing all the facts but with their mind closed to religion would not be suitable for me. So no, I would not date someone on that basis.
  22. Well, it’s a holiday and holidays are fun. They make everyday a little less ‘everyday.’ However, as holidays go it’s not what I’d call an epic one or anything of great significance. It’s nice enough if you have a special somepony, but if you don’t it can really suck.
  23. Mars by 2024? That’s hilarious. I already posted my opinions here back in 2017 and nothing has changed, nor will it. We no longer live in a can-do world, but a can’t/won’t/shouldn’t-do world. It’s been stagnant for years and it shows no signs of changing unless we get a few billionaires to privately fund, plan and execute it. Problems and obstacles can be overcome, but you have to go over, go through, or go around them; you can't sit on your hands and lament the difficulties.
  24. It sounds kind of interesting actuall, like a Sword Art Online universe. To be honest I don’t do much gaming these days but I did play a lot of D&D in my youth and the classes that would interest me would be something stealthy like a Thief, even though that doesn’t exactly reflect my true nature. But I don’t have the strength or instinct for combat, so any kind of fighter/swordplay would be a stretch for me. I assume that by ‘fantasy world’ this is a sword and sorcery sort of thing? In that case I could conceivably be some sort of spell caster, as long as I can use stealth and intellect over brute strength and combat. Dexterity, Intelligence and Charisma would be my top 3.
  25. I’m married so my usual Hearts and Hooves day involves a very lightweight date or staying at home for a fancier home-cooked meal and maybe a fitting dvd movie. There isn’t much to it because I don’t need a designated day to give or receive love or affection. The only tradition I kind of expect is receiving a chocolate rose. It can be after Hearts and Hooves Day from a clearance shelf or whatever, but I do fairly insist on my yearly rose, or a reasonable facsimile. I’m difficult that way.
