What is one thing to you that is better than My Little Pony
Mortar replied to Reose's topic in General Discussion
There are several, but off the top of my head, I'll pick synthesizers. The most mis-understood and flexible of music creation instruments. -
Have You Ever Burned Out on a Hobby of Yours?
Mortar replied to The Recherche's topic in General Discussion
I'd have to go with video games as well. Back in the '90s I was big into FPSes (first-person shooter). I pretty much had every FPS game that was out there. During the week I'd spend most of the evening playing and on weekends, it wasn't unusual for me to be up 'til 3-4 in the morning playing. I wasn't addicted (yeah, I know), I just had the time. And like you said, for reasons unknown, I just stopped, for several months. When I started back up, I just wasn't into it like before. So, it drifted to the wayside and I've never really gone back. I even have games that I've never installed, still in their original boxes. One of these days (heh) I'll have to load those puppies up.- 73 replies

Say what? Got news for ya, junior. Being 50 doesn't mean your at death's door. I'm over 50 and I do everything I did when I was in my 30s. Better check the rules. It's a one-way trip. I'm torn between traveling to the future, about a century, and back to 1980. Why only a century? Assuming Humanity's still around, the world would still look very familiar, yet there would be major technological advancements in areas like computer and the auto industry. Why 1980? I loved the '80s. That was my decade. The music, the cloths, the home computer was still in it's infancy. And I'd want to stop my other self from making a really big mistake, which would affect the rest of his life.

general Is it easy for you to say '' I'm sorry ''?
Mortar replied to Berry-Bliss-Sundae's topic in General Discussion
Not really, but I've never dodged the issue. If I mess up, I own up to it and take my licks. That's just the way I am. -
There's nothing irrational about fearing these bad boys. You want to stay away from them as much as possible. I would suggest moving to Arizona. Zero chance of hurricanes and next-to-zero chance of tornadoes. If I could, I'd be winging my way to Phoenix ASAP.

Probably like most, I was kinda hoping he and Cherrilee would become an item. But, even though did have at least one date, post-spell, perhaps they felt a bit weird, probably wondering if they were still being influenced indirectly somehow. As for Sugar Belle, I don't see anything happening here. Although never specified, the Village (really needs a name) is apparently some distance outside of Ponyville, and while Mac may not mind hoofing it there and back for the moment, that kind of traveling will eventually get old. So what then? Would Mac move to the Village? Nnnnope. Would Sugar move her shop to Ponyville? Doubtful. As small as the Village is, she probably feels both an emotional and moral tie to the other ponies. Consequently, they'll move on with their lives.

I liked this ep. though I thought Pinky's behavior was kinda strange. Since she has so many friends, her obsession for Maud moving to Ponyville seemed over the top. Equally odd was Maud becoming friends with Starlight. She's so focused on her rocks, to even notice anything--or anypony--else is surprising. Which actually makes this an important event for her.

S07:E01+02 - Celestial Advice/All Bottled Up
Mortar replied to Ashen Pathfinder's topic in Season 7 Discussion
S7E1: Two things stood out in this ep: 1) Celestia laughing. Not just a little giggle like we've heard before, but a full-blown belly laugh. My first thought was, "uh-oh, she's been taken over, or rplaced, some evil deed. I mean, we've never heard her laugh like that before. Nice to know she can. 2) Let down ending. After this big buildup about Starlight moving on, she doesn't, or anything else, actually. Overall though, it was a good episode. -
Funny, I never thought about Dash's parents, but it was cool seeing them. When Scootaloo made that vague reference about not getting support from her parents, I was hoping we'd finally get some background on that; rather disappointed that didn't happen. I'm just now watching S7, so if something new happens in this regard, don't tell me.

Annihilation. A rather ho-hum sci-fi flic. I'd give it ***.

Do you remember what chipset you used? I came from the 8-bit world, 6502, to be precise. It was interesting, just takes to much code to get anywhere.

Rainbow's expression reminds me of how Ralphie (A Christmas Story) looked in his bunny suit.

I do like some seafood, mostly fish. I wouldn't program in assembly language. Way too detailed.
