  1. Very possible. Their parents could be long gone or not even part of that world. They've been showing pieces of their history at the beginning of each season, so if that pattern continues we could see more in season three.
  2. Oh yeah, I'm not disputing that at all. I've picked up on the mythological references, too. This concerns alicorns as a whole, though, assuming there are more than just the three we know of (the sisters' parents and all that). Thanks!
  3. My theory is, yes, all alicorns are immortal, but once they hit a certain point of maturity they stop aging. The theory that their growth doesn't necessarily stop at that point wouldn't rule out immortality.
  4. That could be a possibility, but the validity is questionable when you consider the fact that they were parented. I just sort of assumed alicorns were all very powerful creatures, but their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses varied. For all we know, they (Celestia and Luna) could very well be the strongest of their kind, or very weak by a mass comparison.
  5. Good point. Following this, that would mean that Celestia is ungodly old if the growth rate is that slow. Either that or Luna's growth was stunted during her time on the moon lol.
  6. Had the hardest time deciding where this should go. The reason why I'm asking is for my fanfic, but the entire question has more to do with the show. If it needs to go to creative resources, my bad In trying to find out about Luna's and Celestia's family, I've run into a few snags. I found that Lauren confirmed on her DA that Luna and Celestia have no other siblings, and that Prince Astron--Blueblood?--is a distant relation. "He's the great, great, great... nephew on Celestia's and Luna's mother's side, about 52 times removed, roughly speaking..." So, from this we know the family tree is rather extended. Then there's Cadence. The main problem is her age. During Twilight's flashbacks, Cadence appears to be around the same age as the present day mane six. Later on, though, she appears to have aged normally, now looking to be the same age as Shining Armor. So, she would have to have been born more recently. This contradicts fan-theories that alicorns age differently. They could age at a normal rate, but cease the process completely once they hit a point of maturity, like Elves in LotR. But even that doesn't work completely: On Lauren Faust's DA page, March 20, 2011: "...Luna is not yet full grown, and some sort of evil magic turned her into Night Mare Moon. When she grows to an adult..." What do you guys think? Granted, I'm not trying to apply a scholarly amount of logic to the show, it's just artistic license can only go so far.
  7. I feel happy. The show never fails to ease my mind. It also helps get my mind off my CRPS, which is a huge friggin plus.
  8. Even though I liked BBBFF and Love is in Bloom--especially BBBFF's little foreshadowing stunt--This Day Aria blew my mind. Great.. now I'm going to have to listen to it again.
  9. Better question: How did Cadence get there in the first place? That aside, yeah, they probably met when Twilight was younger.
  10. That was harder than I thought it would be. I mean, Chrysalis did smack down Celestia. In the end, I had to go with Discord, though. Edit: Chaotic evil is far more interesting than simple--campy--evil.
  11. Nice analysis. I'm still looking forward to the season three premier simply for the villain lol. As far as the Diamond Dogs go... hmm, yeah they could be considered the opposite of Rarity, though they're a bit too stupid and were easily manipulated by her. Just my opinion, though.
  12. Honestly, I can see them doing it and getting away with it fairly easily. Of course, they'd have to tone it down and put a kid friendly twist on it, but, well... Anyone remember the Powerpuff Girls episode where it showed the future under the rule of Him?
  13. They're all good for comedy. Pinkie would probably try to throw a kingdom-wide party. RD... would be interesting to see how she would react to being a "princess".
  14. I love the concept for the Return of Discord. I'm not much of a game designer, but as a writer I could possibly help come up with plot elements and events.
  15. My mother raised an eyebrow when I first told her, then she watched a few episodes. Eventually she even read My Little Dashie, which sealed Celestia's role as a troll forever in her mind.
  16. Season two finale, hands down. It has the best song of the series so far, an epic battle sequence, and assault on a world leader.
  17. Forget them. In my experience, people that target one thing about another person in order to belittle them are usually hiding something they don't want getting out, too. Don't challenge them, because that will only strengthen their resolve. Just don't acknowledge them. You're 18, so handle things like a mature young adult. Smile, shake your head, then shrug it off. If they really have that big of a problem against it, that says more about them than it does you.
  18. Really? Out of everything there is, the brony fandom is what leaves a bad taste in her mouth? She had to write that article? Has she been on the internet? There are so much worse things we could be doing. "it's a step away from child molestation." In what crazy way, lady? We're not looking to associate with her daughter or any other child--outside our own--something that she seems to be forgetting. She goes on to say "I tend to take things a bit to the extreme." O rly? Tell me more. The comments section proved to me this particular woman was just looking for an echo chamber. She didn't really care about another perspective, she just wanted to hear more false concern and outrage.
  19. "How do you spell Celestia?" "Don't catch me off guard like that."

  20. You have to emotionally invested in your work, so think of something that moves you, then translate that allegorically into, well, the MLP universe. I won't go into my fanfic, but the novel I'm currently working on presents my ideas on politics, religion, philosophy, and psychology in a steampunk-western setting. Basically, I gathered a bunch of topics that I had a lot to say about, placed it in an interesting setting, developed a few characters, and went from there. Once you find something, don't start actually writing right away. Come up with plot elements (events that your characters will go through) and try to arrange them chronologically. Then, work on an outline. I suggest the snowflake method (you can google 'how to write a novel using the snowflake method). This will be an arduous task if you aren't invested in your work. Well, honestly, it can be arduous even when you are, but well worth it in the end. Most importantly, though, have fun!
