    my hope is that it'll just be a reboot of the previous generations like G4 was. also, i know this is a toy franchise for little girls at the end of the day, but still, as someone who writes children's books for a living, i wish Hasbro would put more effort into their tie-in content.

    ok, keep the she-demon part in, but have her try to destroy Equestria and The Mirror World instead. to save the day, The Rainbooms use the Mirror World versions of The Elements of Harmony. i still stand by my point that Sunset should go to detention afterwards, though. i think that'll make more sense for her redemption arc. so, the Mirror World isn't a direct "reflection" (pardon the pun) of Equestria, and the characters' ages aren't the same? that's where my confusion lies. i'd always assumed the pony CMC were seven or eight, while The Mane Six were 14-17 (making them adults in pony years)

    Maybe they could make the elementary school right next door to Canterlot High. Sunset's minions could just be characters created originally for the movie like she was. As someone who writes books for a living, I can safely assure you that things can be dragged out for as long as the plot requires. We can still have those scenes of Twilight meeting the Mirror World versions of her friends, for instance. And maybe there could be Mirror World versions of The Elements of Harmony. The only thing I can think off of the top of my head is having Sunset's plans exposed during the prom and sent to detention. I do agree that the whole she-demon thing was pretty stupid. I know there are other cartoons where humans have multicolored skin, but my problem with Equestria Girls' "humans" is that they have magical powers, which is why I subscribe to the siren theory.

    (I actually don't agree with that one. Per @Lawyer Slip) Completely change Sunset's plan. Maybe she could try to destroy both Equestria and The Mirror World and create them anew by mind-controlling The Siren Six and having them use their Elements? See Point #2. Remove that scene entirely. I think this one is justified. Just because Twilight flies at the end of "Magical Mystery Cure" doesn't automatically mean she's used to having wings. Have Twilight and The Siren Six try to steal the crown. Have Sunset send one of her minions into Equestria to spy on the goings-on. Remove all of the kids from Canterlot High. See Point #2. Bonus point: Explain why the people in The Mirror World have candy-colored skin. I've always assumed they were sirens or something, but neither the movie nor the short film series explains this...

    i didn't like Make Your Mark at all. the characters were pretty flat and uninteresting (except for maybe Izzy), and Hasbro's decision to make the show a continuation of Friendship is Magic instead of a reboot created more plotholes than anything else (changing how Cutie Marks work, making Spike survive for 900+ years, etc.)

      @Tacodidra: it's just a cute gag. i'm pretty sure Apple Bloom's cutie mark would be an apple being painted red or something, given that her special talent is implied to be painting. :P
