  1. I've noticed I've been buying a lot of Asus recently. My zenfone, my laptop, my new monitor (which is apparently a rarity seeing as it was the only one in the store with audio.)
  2. @Silver Snow, congradurations! Be prepared for a long, cold night (21°F) of stargazing, hot chocolate and smash bros!
  3. Huzzah, Ive done it! My 3333rd post! :balloon:

(Not that it really counts for anything, I just like nice numbers)

It's still a pretty big milestone that you can be proud of. Congrats! :D

  4. Trixie is a bit of an odd case for me. Despite her boastful personality, she was one of my favourites too. Part of it is her whole character design, but I think it was mostly because I pitied her in the first season. Here she was just trying to do her stage magic and she ends up having to deal with a giant bear and twilight spiking her ego down several levels. That's a very bad day, pretty much a crushing defeat. And on top of that, it's no secret that I have a soft spot for reformed antagonists. And she is undeniably very adorable too!

    technology iOS or Android

Windows phone 10! Wait, what do you mean that's not a thing anymore? Honestly, neither one of them is great. Android has more potential and flexibility, but I have no trust in Google. Apple seems to generally care about security and privacy (because their primary business model is selling computers, not ad revenue), but their walled garden approach is incredibly restrictive. I have to vote Android in any case. I'm a Linux user, I can't run iTunes. I need direct access to the file system to upload music and manage stuff from my main PC. That being said, it's not a glowing victory. If I could dump android too, I would.
  6. I have to say pizza. I absolutely love both, but after conferring with my taste buds, they concluded that a really excellent pizza can typically outflavour a really excellent burger. Unfortunately, the converse is true as well; a crappy pizza generally tastes worse than a crappy burger. You can taste the fakeness in the sauce and the dough whereas the burger is still meat, maybe just not cooked to perfection.
  7. I used to have a fair bit of strength, but then I went on a diet and did a lot of cardio. I need to do some weight lifting to get that strength back. Currently, I have just enough muscle for carrying around my 50 pound telescope. That's not really any achievement though and I struggle like hell doing it.
  8. I'd be a mental wreck and probably off myself before I even meet this band of survivors. But if I didn't, I guess my stubbornness tenacity could come in handy. Don't have much in terms of wilderness skills though, or a good stomach for that sort of thing.
  9. Im probably not in the majority here, but I can't say I'm opposed to the idea of gene modification in itself. I think that's a pretty unscientific stance and it cuts us off from a whole slew of potential benefits the field might bring. I doubt his motivations were entirely selfless and it is certainly a very controversial thing to do, but I wouldn't jump on the bandwagon of condemning him. I'm more neutral about it than anything. You also have to admit, modifying an embryo's genes for HIV resistance is pretty clean compared to certain events in recent history. There's been far worse, both overseas and at home.
  10. I've been feeling a little in the dumps today. I don't know why, I just feel drained. Maybe this weekend, I'll do a MLP marathon. It's actually been a really long time since I've watched it and a feel good show is probably just what I need.

I hope you feel better soon! :kindness:

I also need to do an MLP marathon, I haven't been watching it as much as I used to and I want to get back into it again.

  11. Holy crap! It's finally a clear sky for astronomy!! I've been waiting for a clear night like this for like a month! ^_^

AMAZING, you like stargazing? l love that too, even though l do not do it nearly as often as l would like.!

Nice! You too, eh? I absolutely love it. I got into it because of an elective I took in my last year of software development. I'm so glad my college offered it; I would have never discovered how much fun it is otherwise and probably would have ended up with some useless liberal arts course like interpersonal group dynamics. :scoots:

Tonight was a bit on the cold side (very frostbite inducing), but hot chocolate is a pretty good remedy for that! Here's a picture of my telescope:

      @Celtore, sweet telescope!  :mlp_yay:

  12. After 3 years, still ISFJ. Maybe this test isn't a load of hot air after all!... But seriously, some of that stuff is actually frighteningly accurate. I'll have to test later to see if it's just that one specific type that matches so well or if they're all generic enough to apply to anyone. Edit: oookay, looks like my initial thoughts may have some merit to them. Beyond the four traits the test checks for (with a very broad brush), the rest is up for interpretation.
  13. My first games came from the humble bundle 3. The first game I actually played was either Cave Story or VVVVVV.
  14. I was really big into trains when I was a kid and I had these Thomas the Tank Engine toys. They were like little wooden models of the trains on the show and they sold tracks alongside the toys to let you build your own railway system. My grandfather, who was pretty talented with woodworking, made me a set of those tracks one Christmas and I got many years of enjoyment out of them. I remember using an oatmeal box as a tunnel and laying the tracks through it and later using lego to extend it further like adding a station.
  15. Bad move... I mean, I get it, but it's way too late. Once you've allowed your brand to devalue itself like this, no amount of backtracking or PR will save you. They should have acted when that content was starting to appear, not until it had already festered into a very sizeable chunk of their stakeholders.
  16. That stereotype exists pretty much everywhere. I sometimes feel the same way about sports fans, sitting on a sofa loudly shouting like incoherent morons at a television while drizzling cheese and a week's worth of fat down their morbidly obese inebriated gullets. The reality is that these types of obsessed people exist in just about every hobby and identifiable group; some more than others. I've only met one other brony in person and they were very clean, polite and a good friend.
  17. It used to, but not as much anymore because Im doing something about it. Although I probably could be eating slightly better, my problem was more of a lack of exercise rather than eating too much junk food.
  18. Yeah, sorry about that. I don't have any experience with blender, though I would love to learn it one day. All my games have mostly been 2d to avoid needing to model things.
  19. Sleeping. I'll be going to bed in about 30 minutes and I fall asleep really quick.
  20. I remember my heart practically exploding at this part of episode. It's just so heartwarming!
  21. The question head on is a tricky one. I don't think there's a game you can play your whole life that you'll never grow tired of. Even with something like an MMO, eventually the player base will die and you'll still be there. Bored, having done most everything. So I'd have to say something fun and multiplayer is probably close to the answer. Something like Mario Party where the fun comes more from the people around you rather than just through gameplay alone. The really hard part though is which Mario Party?...
  22. Monster "hunter", huh? I'd prefer to be the monster, personally. Maybe defend a small village from other larger threats, Godzilla style! Or if I guess that doesn't work, I guess a super hero will do fine... With the power to transform.
  23. Hallelujah (yes, the one from Shrek.) It's pretty catchy...
  24. I generally don't like fighting. The closest thing to a fight was when I shoulder rammed a bully (same grade) who had trapped someone in their locker. Well, it wasn't really a shoulder ram, it was more like a very strong shove.
  25. Depending on the car, you might be able to sniff traffic on the CAN bus to see if there's any message for toggling the lights. Then, it's just a matter of replaying that message onto the bus yourself. If the lighting system is just switched based, you could program your own microcontroller (like an arduino) and have it control the switch through a relay or something. note: not endorsing it; that's just what I would do.
